What's not to like about D lee, my favorite story about him is when Uribe stopped him at second. Uribe by bluffing Lee kept us in the ball game. He was good natured after the incident. He had a good season with the Marlins and then went on to prove the Cubs confidence in him. I do however: like the idea of trading Gload to the Cubs. Since you are obviously a socially responsible cubs fan and probably idolize Hillary Clinton, why don't you go on a muslim forum and ask them why they don't like jewish people...or a serbian forum and ask why they don't like croatians...that is just the way it has been for a very very long time...get over it and crawl back in your hole... that being said D Lee is one of the few likeable cubs players...who puts up numbers, isn't flashy (a la SamME) and doesn't watch his homers/deep flys, goes about his business, much like almost all of the sox players (A Ramirez is the worst when he watches it hit the wall and he is just getting out of the batters box). Also, Derrek Lee's initials are DL (Disabled List or Dumb Luck) This injury is actually pretty bad. Two broken bones in the wrist. He won't be the same for the rest of this year. Well, hopefully he's still young enough that given time this will heal. And it's also not a bone he's regularly putting a lot of force on, like basketball players when they suffer Amare/Webber type fractures in their legs. We would have beaten the Cubs soundly in the crosstown series anyway. 2. The more I think about it, the more it might make sense for the Cubs to trade for Ross Gload. Good lefty bat 1B (obviously nothing like Lee good, but he can hit .300), used to play for the Cubs anyway, solid defender at that position, could be had immediately and for relatively cheap. For the Sox, not a huge loss - he hardly plays anyway, and I think his hitting talent is wasted behind PK and Thome. Maybe they could get a pitching prospect out of it. RIght when I saw it I said it was a break. Its almost like the non-wristguard injury that was common for rollerbladers when that was popular. I feel sorry for the guy, but s*** happens, and im sure cubs fans will now focus their attention on hating the sox instead of loving their team.
