joeynach
The 2008 tentative schedule was released. Our 2008 schedule is absolutely awful. Here are some highlights. April: We open March 31st at cleveland and our first 12 games are against Det, Cle, and Min. Of the 27 games we play in April 15 are at home (perfect for multiple rainouts and cold weather). May: We play 29 games w/ 20 on the road and 9 at home. 10 game west coast road trip to Sea, LAA, and SF. June: We play 26 games w/ 16 @ home. We play the cubs 6 times in June. We play Pit and Col at home and LAD on the road. July: We play 25 games w/12 @ home. Month ends with another 10 game road trip. Aug: We play 28 games w/16 @ home. 10 game homestand with 4 against BOS. 9 game roadtrip at the end of the month. Sept: We play 26 game w/13 games @ home. We have a 10 game homstand at the beginning of the month and a 10 game roadtrip towards then end with a 4 game set @ NYY (worst time to play the yanks). Our schedule sucks ass. The cubs 2007 schedule didn't have a single road trip over 6 games until september when they had ONE 7 game roadtrip (the most all year). We have 3 ten game road trips and one 9 game roadtrip. And of course we have to have our 4 game set against the Yanks in late Sept when they usually are making their monster late season run. Talk about uneven scheduling. 29andPoplar
Twice they have to fly out to the West coast for a 3 game series, and then right back. That's nonsense. Once is in between the two Cubs series. They play the Cubs for 3, fly out to LA the next day and play 3, then fly back and play the Cubs for 3 more starting the next day. They need to do a lot better in interleague play, but the schedule makers don't do them any favors with this scheduling. They do the same later on, flying out to Oakland for 3 games and flying right back.

RME JICO
That is definitely an ugly schedule. September looks pretty brutal. Wait, we don't play KC until June 3rd, that has to be wrong, they are still in our Division right? We play LAA 7 times before playing KC? Do you not realize with all the extended roadtrips there are an equal amount of lengthy homestands? There are three, 10 game homestands and one 8 game stretch. That's the tradeoff; more consecutive road games for more consecutive home games. The series against the Yankees probably won't mean anything, anyways. I wouldn't worry about it. greg775
Oz better have us ready to play out of the gate. For years the Royals have been out of the race by mid May. Hope that doesn't befall our Sox. We better be ready for those division rivals early.
RME JICO
It also sucks to have one of those 10 game road trips near the end of the season. The Sox play 10 out their last 13 on the road.
Dick Allen
From June 2 to July 8 the White Sox are in Chicago a ton. Only 9 road games. 3 in Detroit. 3 in LA and 3 against the Cubs. I knew the Sox wouldn't open at home after last season. But Cleveland had those games moved to Milwaukee and they get stuck opening at home in March. That's brutal. Soxfest
We should be playing San Diego or Arizona at home NOT f***ing Pittsburgh again. We should play 4 teams in the NL West. I looked at Cubs, compare the length of our trips to there's. I do not get how 2 teams from 1 city playing 162 games apiece have such different length on road trips not once but multiple times in 2008! WilliamTell
Dang the Sox play at New York late in the year. I was hoping it'd be sometime in the summer so I could go to it. I wish the Yankees would get their schedule out though.
