Yeah, it's pretty brutal. Perhaps they're saving money to go towards payroll but hiring a child to do all signage work for them, not to mention a bizarre choice for the featured players. For anyone that can't see the link here's the billboard:

The players choosen are the most recornizable, highest paid and a little ethnic.

The fact the quality of players not choosen is as high as it is is more impressive to me. Think of what that would have looked like in previous years. Peavy, Jackson, Beckham, Quentin, Danks, Floyd and Thorton could have been the best players on previous teams.

Single game tickets usually are in Feb. You can probably get in on ticket packages right now.

yup, the e-mail went out about 2 hours after PK was announced, not that I don't blame them. It will be interesting to see if there's a decent bump from last year

cool. thanks. I'm thinking of going to opening day for the first time. I have to talk the "finance committee" into it, but I think i can negotiate a deal.

Maybe it's all the caffeine and lack of sleep, but I can't quit laughing at this. I want to send it to all my friends and see if they notice. This is amazing. You're amazing.

So Kenny is saying we're most likely not going to be able to sign any marquee (or even recognizable, for that matter) names for the pen, and so that he will have to get creative via the trade market.

He also did mention that Sale would most likely join the rotation for the beginning of the season, impliedly until Peavy can return.

After signing Konerko, Sox turn to relievers

Reinsdorf has a long and storied habit of presiding over some pretty terrible ad campaigns. I did like the AJ/Buehrle commercial last year though. That was a nice change of pace. And the original grinder rules was innovative.

IIRC, the Grinder Rules were the idea of an advertising company that they no longer work with. Someone from the company (owner?) posted on WSI for a little while.

I drunkenly ran into Kerry Wood at a bar last night, gave him my best pitch to sign with the sox and he said "can't do it man". You heard it here first

:lolhitting Nobody tell Cowley!

Awesome story, though.
