whitesoxbrian
Nice job, Jose. Don't worry, get 'em next time. It's just a loss, no big deal. Nothin' like prayin' that the D-Backs will take care of the Twins tonight because we couldn't get the job done on our own.

joejoesox
This is on Jose, no doubt about it. He just doesn't have it and hasn't had it for the last 3-4 starts now. Probably not a coincedence that the weather has heated up around baseball, and the bats are getting a bit looser If Jose sh*ts the bed in his next start, I think we can pretty much stick a fork in him

Frankensteiner
4-7 in our last 11. Today's loss wouldn't be so bad if not for yesterday's debacle. I hope these players show some pride tomorrow.
Flash Tizzle
Can't fault the offense. Seven runs should win majority of games. When people suggest individual players don't lose games, remember Contreras today. He lost the game. Better win tomorrow. Atleast have your pride and win a game, keep MInnesota off your back, and show the national audience you deserve to be a first place team. Why didn't a coach trot out to give him a breather instead of just watch him get wrecked. I haven't seen where a pitcher just gets mowed over for all those runs, and a pitching coach doesnt come out. And Cooper, if anyone, deserves to be absolved of blame. Contreras' forkball was like a Kirk Sarloos hanging slider. ChiliIrishHammock24
i dont blame the offense. 11 hits and 7 runs should win 80% of your games. Unfortunately, Contreras sucks ass.

I don't think Coop was fixing anything, its called stalling so your bullpen can get loose. We took way too long to get someone up. And waited until it was beatdown time. SoxFan1
QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) Kevin. But today was worse. Oh yeah, Kevin. My bad. I think the main difference is that Slowey was getting hit hard, where as the Cubs just 1st-and-3rd'ed Jose to death. The wind plays a huge factor into the HR's as well. Ramirez's ball barely cleared that stupid f***ing basket.

It was still fairly early in the game, and even though Contreras had nothing, Guillen was going to leave him out (for the opportunity to win). When Ramirez hit the HR, he had his hand forced. scenario
Well... tonight's AZ-MN game has Brandon Webb going against Livan Hernandez. If Minnesota wins this game, then you know the baseball gods are messing with us.
daa84
when that wind is blowing out...we absolutely have to bust their guys inside...lee, ramirez and edmonds all have classic hriniak approaches at the plate ....thankfully i think vazquez has the capability of getting inside on em...i also wish ozzie knew when to take a starting pitcher out and when to leave him in
Flash Tizzle
I love Guillen diminishing Edmonds' HRs in the post game show. Basically said he just had a good day, nothing more; and he rather pitch to him as a .218 hitter than Soriano any day. If he hits a HR, good for him. It was funny because the reporters probably expected Guillen to give a flavorless answer about the Edmonds acquisition being so good for them, and he didn't have any of it.
