It was a great month for Sox hitters, so good in fact, Carlos Quentin didn't even get a nomination. Meanwhile we saw more of the same from the pitching. The player who receives the largest % of votes gets a banner made in his honor.

I went contra to the numbers, but I went with Danks and Cabrera. Danks has just been a rock at the bottom of the rotation who has just been great in every start for a while now, and ultraconsistant all year long. Cabrera I picked because his bat and Ramirez who would be my runner up vote, are just turning the line up over and putting key men in positions for the big bad middle of the line up. They both are also getting props from me because their defense for the last month has just been an incalcuable benefit to the Sox.

Got to go with Alexei. For a guy who most teams would have started off in AA he's just a diamond in the rough, exceeding everyones expectations by far and solidified 2nd base and maybe SS for next year. He deserves props. When Javy and the Count had subpar months Mark stepped it up. Also maybe you should make 2 different categories for starters and relief pitchers. Most of us clearly value starters over relievers because of the amount of quality innings pitched.

I'm going purely on June, and just as many of my peers have decided, I voted JD and Buehrle. I know it's not always cool to go for the veterans, but they are the integral part of our success. The young players doing good SHOULD just compliment that, but it has been the young carrying us for a while so I see how that makes sense.

who was May's player of the month?? I assume CQ since he's been up there since late April, but with this site never doing this before, wasn't sure if thie was an every other month type of thing.

CQ and Contreras were the May winners
