IMO that depends on what we get at 1B. If PK is back I think you're definitely right, but if it's someone cheaper maybe we can work it in. We could always look to add some relief help by trading prospects and if necessary trying to get a little cash back in the deal. We're probably pretty close to our budget though.

He probably waited until he had a legitimate offer on the table from the Blue Jays, called up KW and asked him to beat it, and they were happy to.

His value could actually still go down from here.

That decrease in value is probably not worth the risk of not allowing him to try and realize his potential. At this point, it's probably best to just hope he pans out.

If some other team wants him, you don't say no. He probably has what, 1 more option left?

No other team is going to give up anything of value for him at this point. Not sure about the option, but you just created the perfect situation for keeping him around by signing AJ to that contract.
