  2. Do you think honestly think the players on this team are too stupid to realize this team was going to be bad this year? Let me ask you this... did they just legalize pot in Kansas?

  6. Ok my tuppence worth after reading all your replies , because of the way the three major sports are run in the States ie .the drafting pick , there does not seem to be any longevity in rivalries like for instance Boca Juniors and River Plate in soccer , so I have made my own mind up and decided to be intensely bitter towards the Cubs ? and just for good measure I would like us to give the Yankees a routing everytime .

  7. His line drive % is over 26% this season while in the past couple seasons it’s been around 17%. So it does appear that he’s making better contact.

  8. Let’s pump the brakes on throwing out theories on BABIP. To measure whether not Collins has been more lucky or unlucky that usual, you’d need to measure his BABIP compared to past years or players with similar batted ball and speed profile. Saying that Collins’ BABIP is at .300 or is lower than the league average simply is using the stat the wrong way.

  9. Not to be a Bianca Bummer. Nine fans sounds just a little presumptuous.

  10. Oh they are reading this alright. Waiting for Collins hot streak to end and they will come back with " I told you so" and "bust" comments. I guess it is easy to write off a catcher with his offensive potential after less than two years of pro ball at age 23.

  11. Collins is an absolute monster offensively. I hope those who jumped ship due to a bad 2 weeks in April are watching this.

  12. Hard to choose between Cabrera and Pujols. I would go with Pujols only because his postseason career OPS is higher. Definitely not Ichiro.

  13. They love him because we are rebuilding. Rebuilding is fun. No pressure on a fan. We can lose, lose lose and when Cub fans mock the Sox, we can say, "Hey we WANT to lose. We want to get the best draft picks we can." This rebuild stuff has made Hahn so popular. Benetti said on a podcast Hahn was the most popular person at Soxfest. Fans were just simply worshiping him. The Hahn lovefest will continue forever. If the Sox in 2020 suck they can just say the rebuild is taking longer than we thought. Plus the key players in the rebuild have all the time in the world to get good. Nobody better criticize our young guys until their fifth season in the bigs. Even then I'd bet people will not criticize the key pieces of our rebuild if they are struggling. My point? Hahn should be walking on eggshells and he's not. He's one of the most popular peeps in modern White Sox history.

  14. Ignore everyone being too cool for school in this thread, it's the Cubs without question. It's a derby, it's the most attended series every season, it's the loudest the Cell will be all year, the media will preview it more than any other series. Rivalries are about the fans, and the Cubs are the rival the fans care about most. When the Sox are competitive, rivalries between the divisional teams start brewing again, but at times like now they are pretty dormant. With the new schedule format, each divisional team is faced 19 times, so it's hard to get too excited for a particular matchup if you aren't fighting for the postseason, especially when each team will win minimum 4 or 5 of those games given the nature of baseball.

  15. Look at that K rate. Obviously unsustainable for someone as patient at him, but provides room for optimism that he can ultimately land around 20% or so. And if that happens and he can maintain the power he's shown, the kid will be an absolute stud with the bat. Just got to hope the glove continues to develop.
