Ugh. The rebuild is still a toddler. Of course there are still questions. At the stage the Cubs and Astros were will losing 100 games a year. I have never gotten the rush to be first to declare failures and enjoy that. Get off your phones and go enjoy your dads and/ or kids instead of being miserable about a game that is supposed to bring happiness and escape.

You were a big proponent of drafting Madrigal right? Even though they already have Anderson and Moncada. Couldn't they hypothetically have the same problem in the middle infield? Not enough ABs to go around. And what about the OF? What if Eloy, Robert, Rutherford, Adolfo, Basabe, Call, Booker, Gonzalez, Walker, Dedelow etc all develop well? It would suck to trade Call, only to have him become good somewhere else. It doesn't matter because you stockpile talent. When you are rebuilding, you stockpile talent in the minors. You can never have enough. I think the Sox would be pretty lucky to get 1 good MLB pitcher out of: Lopez, Covey, Giolito and 1 from Kopech, Fulmer, Stephens, Adams and 1 from Dunning, Hansen, Cease. Why on Earth would you worry about having too much pitching talent in the organization?

Well, let's apply Occam's Razor to all of this: All of these prospects' development was supposed to be finished by this Org, but this Org has been utterly incompetent and stupid in developing prospects. Hence: 1. This org has had the "good enough" approach to rushing prospects up, BEFORE they fully finish their development. Moncada not having learned to hit as a RHB, Fulmer's utter inability to locate his FB, and Rodon's incomplete control over his FB are all reflective of rushing prospects. 2. The cavalcade of walks from Fulmer, and Lopez, and Rodon, and Giolito, and Kopech makes me question exactly what are they teaching the SP prospects, and exactly how does Cooper supposedly "fix pitchers." [Has he "fixed" Fulmer, despite YEARS of exposure to him? Has he "fixed" Giolito?] On balance, this is why I had wanted everyone in the FO fired seconds after the stupid trade for Shields. They screwed up this org, and now we're supposed to trust them to rebuild it? I simply hope that this this Org can learn something, instead of constantly doing the same stupid things over and over again.

I got the eye test.... Fielding metrics ain't always accurate and don't cover the broad spectrum. But hey you keep your metrics its fine and your opinion. And thanks for calling me dumb... I guess a computer can tell more than the eye. Tell me how many times didn't he cover the bag? Or miss on the pivot? How many times 2 on and a wild pitcher he would swing at the first piece of carp he would see to GIDP? No situational awareness. Your metrics don't cover that. Metrics in moderation is a good thing, but they don't tell the whole story....

Went to NXT last night and it was just amazing. Crowd was awesome. First two matches were amazing. Women's match was alright/good. Black/Sullivan someone messed up on that kick lol. Pretty sure it was Lars, but other than that it was fine. And no words for the final match.

Yeah some of the players in the minors have seemingly become way too overrated on here (Stephens, Adams, Henzman) Some of the same people saying Giolito was never a big part of the rebuild probably were proclaiming him a future ace after spring training

If we stipulate that the 3 OF spots will be nicely manned by current minor leaguers, then rebuild timing/effectiveness will rely upon starting pitching and quality IF'rs. As we sit here today, its not obvious beyond Rodon who among the current crop of pitchers can be counted on as future starters. Covey looks projectable but jury still out on Kopech, Lopez, Hanson, et al. Sure we can project outcomes for guys like Dunning and Cease but the minor leagues are full of promising youngsters who can through fastballs. That said, I have more confidence in our ability to produce a competitive rotation out of existing assets than I do for our infield. Its hard to project what the IF will look like in 2-3 years based on the current guys we pencil in. Other than Abreu (who might be better used in trade), its hard to be inspired. When you go around the horn of the top tier teams, we pale at every position. To compensate, we need to trot out a rotation that can shut teams down. Here's hoping a couple guys seperate themselves from the pack and can be counted on in 2020 and beyond.

Here’s the thing... your “criticism” of Okada-Omega makes a ton of sense to me. You’re not invested in their characters so you don’t care about the in ring stuff, I get that. I love their matches but I get that. Your criticism of NXT not telling stories isn’t an opinion, it’s just 100 percent wrong. They literally tell the best stories in pro wrestling. But it is what it is.

I don't think they kept Moncada in AAA long enough. His AAA stats are remarkably similar to your favorite player Brian Anderson's. Another guy who tore up MiLB but couldn't handle the MLB after a quick promotion. If Kopech needs to learn anything right now it's how to handle AAA hitters.

Lopez/Hendricks are causing me to re-evaluate my view on stuff. For some reason Lopez has great velocity, A good FB-CH split and decent movement on a breaking ball and he still doesn't miss bats. There has to be something more. I know there have always been pitchers that have thrown less than 90 and get hitters out. I'm trying to figure out what it is that cause pitchers with all of the right velocity metrics to just not miss bats and those who have "nothing" to get hitters out on a regular basis.

So velocity is secondary, but Dane Dunning isn’t going to make with a “90 to 92 MPH”? Maybe you should reference this post in the future when you start writing off Dane again.

Agreed. Sox have had a ton of dumb dumbs.. Alexei, viciedo... Etc etc.. Its not totally the managers fault.
