This seems like a pretty extreme post for a AAA outfielder that was generally a good kid & teammate.5 points

Grow up, man. These kids make squat for money too. I think it's actually fair to say that they make less than squat and live a pretty hard life in the minors. He's living out a dream and I admire him for chasing his dream. Best of luck, kid!4 points

You seem fun. Even if a player doesn't do well, I will never, ever understand people reacting this way to seeing a career crumble. Why say shit like this? Does it make you feel all big and tough or something? He's a human being, he didn't pan out as a ballplayer, I'm sure he's not happy about it either. This just makes you seem like a miserable human being.4 points

Because of one bad night? His wRC+ is like in the top three in the entire league and he’s actually age appropriate. I’m far more worried about his ability to stick behind the plate based on the most recent scouting reports.3 points

Pretty soon he's going to snap his fingers while holding the bat and accidentally half of humanity will vanish.3 points

Do you think it's that the "truth hurts," or that secure humans don't enjoy celebrating the failures of others? Next time I see somebody fail, I'll make sure to remind them of the harsh realities of the real world. Thanks, Tom Party Longo, my 36 year old internet realist buddy.3 points

Refer to his other posts and you would see a running theme of negative connotations. It is what is I guess.3 points

So I guess Eloy fell on the prospects list because of injury? Oh wait... It’s also too early to worry about Dunninng or Robert due to injuries. Burger and Hansen maybe. You clearly also did not factor in the great year guys like Basabe, Rutherford, Adolfo, LuGon, Collins, and others are having. The stocks on those 5 guys have rebound quite a bit that they are either at the latter part of the Top 100 or that they just missed it; and the guys in the lower minors who put themselves on the map this year. I think they are clear top 3. Anything outside of 4 is asinine.3 points

If he is moved I hope it's to Oakland, that'd make the West wildcard race real fun.2 points

It's like.. you don't know how any of this stuff works and just like to complain about the FO. My goodness ?.2 points

Injuries are a big deal. If Luis Robert and Burger can't stay on the field, those a two huge busts. Dunning and Hansen have spent extensive time on the shelf. Eloy has been on the DL multiple times. These aren't minor concerns.2 points

I do like that the @longo fella downvotes everyone. It's like Reddit in here. And stop handing out trophies all willy nilly, God damn it.2 points

Dude does not walk anybody... like literally. His minor league numbers are insane in that regard.1 point

Having seen how the VA is run and how Medicare is run....even if it can be done without a dollar increase in my taxes, I still say no thanks.1 point

Uhh "positively quoted" stats of 2 random players to comparatively say that the actual player being discussed is not as good as said players (and implying he never will be). If it ain't doom and gloom, it's being a pessimist to the fucking extreme for no reason.1 point

The Sox farm is having a bad year? The injuries have sucked, but overall this has been a fantastic year. The only guy who has really fallen off is Hansen and it’s way too early to write him off. The Sox are clearly top three with the Padres & Braves IMO.1 point
-
Pads, Braves, Rays are clearly better. Yankees are maybe better. Marlins and Blue Jays could eclipse them by the end of the season, depends on deadline action. Sox farm is also having a really bad year, could rebound next year and still be top 5 even with Jimenez and Kopech (hopefully) graduating.1 point

I just can't see any team giving up a lot for Rodon right now. Yes, the talent is there but he needs to prove he can stay healthy,1 point

Sox fans aren’t good at this stuff because they compare our system to what it used to be vs comparing it truly to all other franchises. I don’t think anyone has the time for that but after the year of injuries I’d probably take Yankees or brave for under 25 talent.1 point

Not really contributing anything to this conversation as we've all seen the box score today, but I was able to swing over to Pawtucket this afternoon and caught a few innings of the game between other obligations. I was able to catch Eloy's oppo HR - if anyone else was there, I was the one in the Knights hat going nuts down the 3B line. Chose to take a photo instead of video so I could actually watch the AB - this was just prior to the HR.1 point

Not really. The bullpen prospects are actually likely the best of our whole system, collectively. One bad game, in which only one of the relievers who pitched will be here next year, doesn't change that.1 point

I get the sneaking suspicion that these boxes will be checked right after Shields and/or one of the Garcias is traded.1 point
