You were definitely the president of that club. With that said, I'll miss Avi solely because that dude gave it his all on the field. I'll never question his work ethic.5 points

Like it. Sold high on Narvaez who is awful defensively. Castillo is the starter. I'd be shocked if they signed Grandal.5 points

I blame myself. I started the car and then ole jackie parkman took the wheel and drove it into lake michigan.5 points

My Dad is going to be destroyed. He thought Davidson was the 2nd coming of Mike Schmidt or something.3 points

2018 means jack in 2019. The Sox sold about as high as they can with Omar. This guy is 2 years removed from a .627 OPS in Charlotte, and a .550 OPS in Birmingham. Give him credit, but he's in for a fall, and he is horrible behind the plate.3 points

Not trying to be a dick, but this trade would be done yesterday if that’s all it took. They’re going to get at least one blue chip centerpiece and this offer has none.2 points

I'm really happy that Davidson had two years in the big leagues. Would have been brutal for him to have lost it all the year he thought he was going to hit. Unfortunately he wasn't quite good enough, but he should definitely work on his pitching and try to be some weird player for the tampa rays.2 points

Yeah -- As good of a guy Matt Davidson was to cheer for, there wasn't anything happening here. Unfortunate, but TY for the memories of last year.2 points

You don't remember correctly. I don't know why you need to make a dozen posts spreading misinformation when plenty of posters keep correcting you. It's not that hard to click on a link. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/colomal01.shtml2 points

fWAR doesn’t account for framing and Narvaez was dead last (or close to) in all of baseball in that metric. He needs to make massive improvements defensively to be worth much.2 points

Considering the Cubs just signed Kareem Hunt to replace Terence Gore, I don’t believe they care about domestic violence1 point

They probably weren't offering a guy that's still a season or two away from arbitration. This deal for Seattle had a lot more to do with money than talent.1 point

winning helps build the fan base, not just adding Machado and then a bunch of garbage. I don't think accelerating the rebuild is about the TV deal, it's about the organization showing promise. 2018 was pretty much a worst case scenario all around1 point

He made 5.3 million the year before. It's not that different from what Herrara made I think he jumped from 5.5 to 7.91 point

Sox traded for a lot of young arms and don't want to see them hurt by lousy defensive cathers. Narvaez , Avi and Davidson , none stood out defensively. It's a trend . Don't be surprised if more defensive players are found, maybe even at 1st base with Abreu getting a lot more DH time or traded. I've always said play Harper at 1st base.1 point

Sad day for Greg. I feel like some of Matt's bombs and Palka's bombs (and Matt's funny pitching outings, 3) were the only saving grace in me spending 100 or more for MLB.com last season. The advanced metrics peeps win out again. Hate to break it to some of you, but Matt and Avi are way better than a LOT of players in White Sox history. There are plenty of players worse hitters than Avi and Matt who played for the Sox in history. I'd be SHOCKED if KC doesn't sign him. He's cheap still and they have no third baseman. Give him 600 at bats and see how many dingers he mashes and what his final BA will be for the season. Well, Mr. Hahn told me today with these moves that Matt and Avi are not good enough, plain and simple. OK, Mr. Hahn, I don't love your work or hate it yet in your tenure, but sign me some players WAY BETTER THAN Avi and Matt and if you can, bring 'em in now. I wanna win. Go Matt D! Go Avi baby! Go Sox!1 point

I'll miss Avi. A team that has their players sell out for power like Toronto should go after him.1 point

I honestly find this to be nuts unless the Sox think his medicals are no good. You have at least 1 corner outfield spot that is a gaping hole at this point.1 point

What have they gotten for them? Rutherford is about it. And it required 2 really good relievers and Frazier. The rest brought in a bunch of nothing.1 point

Absolutely. Mediocre to good relievers bring much higher prices at the deadline. For example, if we got a #10 system LH SP prospect for Omar Narvaez would people be happy with that? Because that plus a DSL lottery ticket is what we got last year at the deadline for Soria. In the winter, the Dodgers basically gave us a reliever to take Soria.1 point

couldn't disagree more...he clearly proved he has sources during 2016.1 point

Why do you guys take whitesoxdave seriously lol...he doesn't know any more than we do1 point
-
The more I think about it, the more I think Grandal on a 4-year deal is possible if they internally don't have faith in Collins.1 point
-
Yes, but relievers consistently cost twice as much at the deadline. It’s the largest marginal premium of any position. Also, the Sox have shown a willingness to pay contracts down a bit in trades lately, which the Mariners were obviously not doing here.1 point

Only Soxtalk can make trading Omar Narvaez sound like the loss of a potential HOFer...all the while, picking up an arm to help what was the WORST bullpen in baseball, not named the Orioles. Seems Legit.1 point
