  1. I wasn’t accusing you of being the same person, you clearly understand what a comma is. I was referring your recent string of completely irrational posts.

  2. It’s interesting that Peavy44 stops posting for the night and Caulfield comes right in to take his place.

  8. This thread is as SoxTalk as it gets. Everyone freaking out about a backup catcher who is nothing but a one year placeholder. Chill.

  9. For all we know, he could be off the team by June 1 if Zavala bounces back at Charlotte. Nothing to get upset over when it’ll probably be a short lived deal.

  10. First mistake is going to ESPN for any type of analysis. Honestly, I’m surprised anyone would bother watching their crap for sports news.

  11. Lol what? Not once in that sentence did he say DH. For the love of God, take a break from soxtalk for a few hours. Now you're the one giving us all brain aneurysms.

  13. The team trying to shed money signs Machado? Lol

  14. The other thing this trade does is potentially spook Boras & Harper into thinking we’re moving forward with Machado.

  15. Sexy as fuck: Moncada, CF Machado, 3B Harper, RF Abreu, DH Jimenez, LF Alonso, 1B Anderson, SS Castillo, C Sanchez/FA, 2B

  16. Read this post, noting the author if you hate this. This is the White Sox doing literally every thing they can to win this. If they go down, they are going down swinging. I can't ask anymore of them.

  17. Maybe I’m being naive, but it’s not like Hahn and Manny’s agent haven’t talked. I have a very hard time thinking this was done just to increase the chance by 1%. If this was any other team getting Yonder, we would have locked the thread for manny

  18. Just my opinion obviously but I’m going to say if you think José is getting dealt then you’re absolutely wrong.

  19. Dude ratchet down. This is you freaking out about a bears loss all over again. You don't need to issue the board warnings and tell us all how we feel and our place in sports fandoms

  20. As of right now, they're not wrong. This is the national narrative. Nobody cares about the Sox other than a small group of people in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. A portion of the fanbase does not trust Hahn and KW, because they got the Sox in this mess in the first place. If the Sox prospects came up and the majority flat out sucked, including Moncada and others, nobody would be surprised. Why? Because the Sox have a a 25 year track record of of epic failure to produce anything from the farm. They haven't drafted/signed and developed a star player since Maggs, with the notable exception of Sale. Sale doesn't really count because he was MLB ready out of college. So, you can see why the national media think that it is laughable that the Sox have any sort of future. Sure, Eloy might work out, but after that everyone is a huge massive question mark. Nobody cares about the White Sox other than White Sox fans. It is that simple. The Sox are so irrelevant that the two major newspapers in Chicago don't have their own beat guy for the team and just post AP generic stuff. They're not even relevant in Chicago the point that they're covered.

  21. I'm just ready for the insults from "reputable media sources" to stop. If I watch another video or read another tweet from a major news source that says "Bryce Harper to the White Sox would be the worst decision of his life" or "The White Sox are completely irrelevant and have no future" I'm going to lose it. I can't wait for Eloy to come up and light the league on fire.

  22. The real story here, is that McCann has worn number 34, that must be what Kopech meant on with his cryptic messages earlier in the offseason.

  23. It's pretty clear at this point the sox are not a reliable source on how good Collins defense is progressing because they cannot identify catcher defense.

  24. I think the outrage is over Hahn trading the #5 offensive catcher in 2018, who is Pre-arb in exchange for a reliever that makes about what he'd get on the free market.... seemingly because Narvaez was poor defensively. Meaning you gave him away for little to nothing. THEN turning around and replacing him with a very similar (poor defense) if not worse player for more money.

  25. Sorry, I am not willing to freak out about a $2.5 million deal. It isn't 1980 anymore, this is what bench players cost.

  26. I'm still a little bitter losing Kevan Smith. I realize he was a marginal player and all...but moreso Kevan Smith the person than catcher. But he did a great job for this team and organization IMO. Will always be a fan of his...

  27. I'm happy with this because it rules out Grandal. He is going to get paid a lot and cost a draft pick. I don't really buy into him. This also may show that the Sox have some level of faith in Zavala and Collins in about a year.

  28. I believe you sir, the most prolific poster in any of the Harper threads, can give it a rest

  29. Quick, is McCann friends with Harper and or Machado?! This is where his true value lies.

  30. ..and give that money back to the billionaire owner? These arguments sound like the choices are make 300m or fund public schools. The players should get as much money as possible that the owners print every year. Sports: where people get mad at millionaires for taking money away from billionaires.

  31. Guy has 40,000 posts and tells people they are insane for discussing one of the 25 players that will be on the team next season immediately after he is acquired.

  33. I didn’t even think much of Kevan Smith, but McCann is actually a downgrade IMO.

  34. The only reason the Phillies are further along in their rebuild than the Sox is that they've done the exact thing that the you so adamantly campaign against. The Sox young talent is deeper and more impressive than Philly. The only difference is they have more established major leaguers, because they've been willing to spend money to supplement their young team.

  36. The last time J4L was wrong was the Melo knicks like 7 years ago. He pretty much hit the nail on the head in regards to offense in the nba, LeBron, golden state, Russ, etc

  37. It might just be semantics but I don't view adding 1 win as a major upgrade. Almora also sits often against tough RHP so as a full time player his value would probably be worse. Also he only had a 89 wRC+ and according to Statcast he actually significantly overperformed, which is frightening. He's not a good hitter. He's better than Engel sure but that's not a high bar.

  38. Almora 2018 WAR: 1.1 Happ 2018 WAR: 1.5 You and I have different definitions of "significant".

  39. What? The Sox have never spent over 100 million, haven't developed players in 15 years and have a FO/manager who dont know how to win. The is very little hope that anything will happen to make the Sox competitive. The past will always dictate the future, its preordained. ?

  40. GMAB. When one of our bullpen arms actually can dominate AAA and can't come up I'll actually be receptive to them being "blocked" but seeing as how major league teams have a great resource, our AAA team (see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple-A_(baseball)), I think we can have them gain experience there, showing control and good k rates before then elevating them to the major league roster. Did we learn anything about Thiago Vieira last year that wasn't evident in Charlotte? Did Juan Minaya's 5 walks per nine in charloote say "he can only learn in the majors!" The only bullpen piece that earned a callup last year was Hamilton. The hyperventilating over roster spots ended last year.
