  2. If we all just stop engaging Peavy44 and replying to his nonsense, we can probably reduce the length of these threads by like 30% or so.

  3. Short term memory? Lucky for you the internet does not forget. A, What terrible moves have i asked the Sox to make. Advocating trading for a utility player when we already have a better utility player, but still wants to make the move because Astros have acquired him, but failed to see Astros actually needed a utility infield and Sox do not. Definition of a terrible, irrational move. B. Concerning there terrible moves and shit product Have you watched baseball during a rebuild? C. And I would not spend a dime on this team and root for another team Publicly advertises not to spend money on this team numerous times yet complains the team not spending money on players. How rational of you. And then there is this classic: D. Why am I still here Fan of the Sox? See above in bold. Every other post of yours leads of "this garbage organization", seems pretty ironic that you're fan of the said garbage organization and couldn't wait for them to move out of this city. E. Now I was able to explain all this in a civil way , unlike you. I am impressive this time around Brad, didn't know you were capable of posting in civil manner judging by the other posts.

  4. Lets take a break from Manny Machado mania to have a moment of silence for Allen Hurns ankle.

  5. I still will not believe that Bryce Harper would have Boras as his agent for his entire career, refuse to negotiate any sort of extension so that he hits FA as early as possible, and then do anything other than take the highest, most record breaking offer he receives. You don't use Boras as your agent to go to the place that interests you.

  6. If Yankees sign Machado for $250M and wsox wouldnt go $300M for him then they blew it.

  7. I’m going to be real pissed if we fuck around and let the Yankees win this thing with a shit bid.

  9. Is this move actually happening? I really, really hope it’s bullshit. Ex-Royals are the absolute worst. It’s like they’ve been cursed by that gypsie lady from Drag Me to Hell. I know Herrera was on the Nationals for a few months, but that’s not nearly long enough to wipe off that Royals stank. Three years minimum outside of KC before you can even consider bringing one of those chumps to the South Side. Let’s just hope Hahn is smart enough to realize this so we can avoid the fan revolt that would certainly result from Herrera’s pending flop.

  10. This is why we cant play games with the Yanks. They are who he wants (supposedly) and we need to put our foot on their throat now and blow them away.

  12. The problem is we’ll never know for sure what other teams are bidding. Sometimes for something very strategic, you have to be willing to pay what the asset (or player) is worth to you and not worry how it would be valued on the open market.

  13. The Sox need to step up and get it done. Don't need to lose Machado over trying to outsmart the other teams.

  14. Look, I'm all for a person up in age staying busy and perhaps if they can reasonably perform at a level equal to a younger generation even maintaining employment past an expected retirement age. However, in my dealings with Bruce (which are thankfully far less than they used to be) it's quite clear it's time for him to step away. He's graduated from the guy people wanted to throw a bone to to an unhinged dinosaur that's routinely misrepresenting those that used to trust him and frankly upsetting and even offending the powers that over here and elsewhere in the industry.

  15. I think it's a sign that Bruce needs to go to that special farm they take old dogs?

  16. Haha, thanks. I really like the Nicholas Cage one. If he has a good year at the box office this year, no way will I be hanging around any swimming pools.

  17. Who the fuck cares who he identifies with? This makes no SENSE CAULFIELD!!!!!! He doesn't get better or worse for the Sox depending on who he identifies with!!!! And this is wrong too, Soria had 16 saves for the Sox last year, it wasn't once or twice
    3 points
  18. Typical Caufield rambling about a bunch of things without correlation. He’s still eating crow for his hot take on Soria last off-season.

  19. You’re the guy who keep pushing for the Sox to make terrible moves for the sake a making a move, without considering the team needs and resources we have available, then comes back and vents that the Sox has made too many terrible moves and keep putting shit product on the field, and that you wouldn’t spend a single dime on the team and would go root for another team. What are you still here?

  20. Yup, George's kids are cheapskates. Their revenue has tripled since 2000 yet they spend the same amount as they did back then when the old man was alive.

  21. Spoken like someone with absolutely no understanding of reality. You go a head and over spend on Zach Britton or Ottavino. Enjoy!
    2 points
  22. If he gets a deal like Britton just got, the value of it is shot. No matter how much you wanna throw logic and calculated reasoning out the door, it's still there. You stretch on a guy like Ottavino, you're just pulling away from where we might be able to go with Machado.

  31. Hey everybody loves a good soap opera whether it's daytime or primetime. The Sox might get their "Dynasty" if they are able to sign one of "The Young and the Restless." Stay tuned for either "Dark Shadows" or "The Guiding Light" ,"All My Children. Let's not get so stressed that we end up in "General Hospital" for these are "The Days of Our Lives."

  32. They stayed under luxury tax for the first time as a result of careful spending and re-shifting their focus to player development. They have not been selling off contracts and assets to try to get under it like the dodgers are doing. It’s a new philosophy that this ownership believes in, that’s why I see them making more measured decisions going forward than irresponsible ones. Also the $193 mil figure you put forth does not include player benefit costs. which is about $15 mil, putting them right at or into luxury tax already.

  40. It’s nice for us that Harper is waiting. We could use that as leverage with Manny. “Look, we’re willing to increase our offer to X amount, but if you’re still gonna wait around, we will push our chips all in on Harper.”

  41. I'm sure Rick Hahn is frustrated with Machado and Harper this is beyond ridiculous.
