Dude is one of the greatest baseball players on the planet and all he gets to do is answer questions about the dude who is boning his sister.12 points

I'm not sure what Dave knows, but my source just told me that he was told "Nothing tonight". That quote came directly from Hahn, and then to my source. Not sure if he means nothing Manny related, or nothing in general. Maybe whatever Dave knows needs to be finalized and won't be announced until tomorrow? Maybe that also ties in to the suprises we are supposed to get during SoxFest? Hopefully a lot of great things happen this weekend.8 points

If you argue about the White Sox chances to compete in the coming years without mention of the fact that they are in the worst division in baseball for the foreseeable future you don't have a good argument.7 points

Seems like people are setting themselves up for disappointment when nothing is announced at Soxfest.5 points

Hawk called me once and after we chatted my rep got on the phone and said "hawk had to go" I interrupted her with a "He gone" and she was laughing so hard and I heard Hawk say it in the background.5 points

Jeeze, I'd like to be the GM of a team that says go ahead and take 5 years to rebuild - even though the 4 main assets you traded for were less than 2 years from big league ready. (Cease, Kopech, Moncada and Eloy). You don't trade for guys that are ready to play AA and AAA baseball, and then waste three years of their control on bad baseball teams. That's not how rebuilds work. Young guys should be coming up to compliment the pieces they add this year and next.5 points

Renteria going public about the issues with Machado being resolved is perhaps the biggest hint that he is coming to the Sox. Rick said that Manny agreed to play wherever the team needed him and that they discussed the "Johnny Hustle" controversy, and indicated that it wouldn't be an issue. If he isn't going to be part of the team, why bother addressing these points, all of a sudden? He never discussed any of this, in the days following the meeting.4 points

Trading a first rounder for a guy who has only 2 years of control left? Rick Hahn should be fired. I'd trade them Ozney Guillen IF the Angels eat some of the money owed to Trout.4 points

If they do somehow announce Manny and Bryce NWO style, my heart may explode....and I will surely jizz my pants.4 points

Yolmer Sanchez and Tyler Saladino seemed to know what they were doing with the glove. Tim Anderson seems to have figured some things out. Tyler Flowers improved greatly. Sometimes getting better is on the players. As much as we need to find fault with everyone but the guy who sucks sucking, sometimes that line of thought is just wrong.4 points

Could something like this work? Dodgers Receive: Realmuto & Bummer White Sox Receive: Pederson Marlins Receive: Ruiz, Rutherford, & Flores4 points

Also a bold move for Sox brass to have Yonder make these calls, given what he represents.3 points

Right, and Ross from Friends is insinuating he thinks Chilli is guessing. Which is kind of ironic to begin with.3 points

Good deal but not sure I'd call it a huge steal, Pollock is 31, can't stay healthy and outside of one season has been more OK than great.3 points

No it is not. You can get fair value for an automobile, but if you already own 5 automobiles for only 2 drivers in your vehicle and are in a huge amount of debt, then the 6th automobile will not provide you appropriate value even if you get a very fair price for it. Even if the new car is nicer than the ones we already have.3 points

Honestly, pretty stupid tweet. That's comparing apples and oranges. One player is currently 26 and signing him to a 10 year deal with an insane AAV of 30 million provides extreme risk at the back end of the deal. The other players are already performing at age 30 season and taking a significantly smaller AAV to get it done.3 points

God this is so stupid. People type on their phones, or in a hurry, and autocorrect is everywhere.3 points

This is just the way things are for the franchise. They traded Bobby Bonilla for nothing, then passed on the chance to add Barry Bonds in the '90s. Imagine how things would be different if they drafted Mike Trout instead of Jared Mitchell? Things might change if the Sox can sign Machado or Harper, but what if they fail to land Sale or Bumgarner next year? Can they win a championship with Zach Burdi throwing to Zach Collins? They won't have Keon Barnum Keenyn Walker playing behind them, that's for sure.3 points

No one will laugh if they offered the most money. Then they had a shot. I just hope this isn't a , "no one gave us a chance, but we had a chance, and didn't convert". If you have a chance, convert or STFU as far as I'm concerned. Every team has a chance if they are prepared to pay a ton of money.3 points

No, but you will mention Fernando Tatis Jr. constantly unless he busts, ESPECIALLY if we sign Machado because money could have been saved. If Avi or Davidson hit 20 home runs, they will be brought up in every other thread as missed Sox opportunities like Michael Morse. Then if Colome or Herrera have a bad game, we'll hear about the Sox shouldn't have any former Royals players or trade for relievers and should have kept Chris Devenski in 2012. Which they should have, but only because Brett Myers is a piece of shit.3 points
