Look around the lineup, Jose, you do not need to try to carry this team any longer...take a fucking walk when they are giving it to you and let the actual run producers have a chance!!4 points

Comparing smoking which has been banned in A LOT of public places to celebrating a home run is crazy. The NBA is one of the most popular sports amongst the younger generation and they celebrate everything. Hit a 3 pointer and they do a bunch of different gestures, dunk over someone and they flex and give the player a little stare down. There is nothing wrong celebrating and having a little fun if there is to bad intent. 162 games a year is a LONG season, have some fun.4 points
-
Why is it a bad example to celebrate? What does that have anything to do with a harmful habit? And how is it professional to throw a fit on the mound and put someone in danger?4 points

To be fair, Anderson has backed up his trash talk with his performance on the field.3 points

More good stuff from Tim Anderson. “I was trying to help the bat boy out a little bit.” lol3 points

Story time. I only ever hit one home run in high school. I watched the absolute shit out of it not because i was showing anyone up but because I was so excited I had no idea what to do with myself, almost fell on my face rounding first. Got plunked the next time up. They plunked the kid who’s only real purpose on the team was to pinch run and pitch. Thought it was horribly dumb ever since.3 points

Pitchers are able to talk smack to batters, pump their fists, yell in their gloves walking off the field, and throw high and tight at hitters with zero repercussions you don't like the bat flip? Don't throw the home run. Fuck off Randal Grichuk3 points

No, there absolutely is something wrong with that. The pitcher has a freakin weapon that he's throwing at a player because the dude got excited and enjoyed something good that he did. That's just so insanely stupid.3 points

Suspend guys for a month when they hit someone on purpose. Done. Unwritten rules are gone.3 points

I said this in the gt, but people really gotta give him a chance until the team matters and this backs up my point. Making a bad team entertaining is incredibly difficult3 points
-
Now into my second season watching and it’s the first time I’ve seen this bat flipping or heard of it , I cannot believe the fuss , if Tim had done some back flips and gave the Fielders the finger on the way round well maybe KC might have had some beef but tossing his bat ? So what . Next game against KC every Sox player should do it , Homer or not .3 points

I would just like to point out that Engel’s incredible luck continues. He’s hitting a robust .120 but someone else was even worse, so he gets to stay up. At this rate, he’s going to have a 15 year career.3 points

Nice post CWS. They have so many decent or strong performing college draftee arms in A/A+. 1&2) I think Walker to W-S, Robert to BHAM and Booker to Charlotte should happen by the end of the month or whenever Basabe returns. Pretty much explains itself given the prospects and performances of those mentioned and others. 3) Varnell is kind of interesting given how bad his college #s were and he only got 5k in signed as a senior. I'll write off his success in the AZL as a 23-year-old but 22/2 K/BB in 17 innings is incredible even if SSS. Sox said he was going to be a reliever at draft time but he's started every appearance in the org. I think he could get overlooked ultimately but there is a lot of trash on the W-S staff. 4) I think McClure is an example of making players "earn" their promotions. That's kind of a newer trend since Getz joined the org but he should be in W-S soon given that roto is a bunch of non-factors. 5) Sousa could be behind Perez in the promotion line with them both being lefty relievers with success against younger competition. I think Sox like Perez more. 6) The Sox are moving Moncada prematurely to 3B for this guy so I'd imagine Madrigal is the one prospect the Sox really push forward compared to the rest. Sox 40 man decisions these next few offseasons will be difficult so Sox may be hesitant to push guys up through the system but Madrgial would be the one exception IMO. 7) Pilkington has good numbers but I've seen some bad scouting reports on his stuff. I would say with a 3rd rounder who was a Friday night starter at a big program that we should push him up quick but he's surprisingly young. He wouldve been one of the youngest people in his high school class if my math is right. ? Hansen - who knows 10) Flores was great in AA last year and is picking up where he left off. I feel that the HR-unfriendly Regions Fields is kind to a guy who gets by on pitch-ability and Sox might prefer him to stay in Bham to work. He's definitely earned consideration though.2 points

Honestly, using Jose as the primary 1B just makes us weaker across the board. Realistically Yondor should be at 1B against all RHP and Jose against LHP with Alonso on the bench. So far neither of things are happening which is just plain stupid but whatever.2 points

Mods - Please ban this horribly ignorant bigot before he creates a complete a complete shit storm here. Dude may be entitled to his own opinion (which I fully disagree with), but to state this filth as “absolute truth” is both stupid and disgusting. Soxtalk should have no place for this type of hatred.2 points

They're entertainers, not accountants. And the NFL just went real lax with all of that, if you didn't notice.2 points
-
There have been many issues with it in NFL. They have specific rules on who can do it, when they can do it, what props they can use. Who cares if it's 2019. Professionalism isn't arbitrary.2 points
-
But why? What difference does it make. Again this is all arbitrary. He didn't direct anything at the royals, he didn't put anyone in danger. What, then, is the big deal?2 points

Good...dude is a coward for calling out Tim like that.2 points
-
At the end of the day, Tim just made himself one of the most well known marketable players in baseball. If he could keep up the play, he is going to be a very rich man. Also, I hope he hits a no doubter in Kaufmann and makes a scene of gently placing the bat down.2 points

Weird, I thought I remembered reading some terrible larry article on SSS about how there wouldn't be a babip regression for Collins because he sucks (basically every larry article ever)2 points

Yes. And people have to stop acting like the job of the announcing team is to flatter their own intellect.2 points

I hope Banuelos gets the starts. I've given up on Fulmer as a starter.2 points
-
I think one of the biggest thing lost in all of this was Tim's reaction. He seemed to take it well and was talking to Maldanado like "I get it, we're cool". It was after the benches emptied that things spun out of control. As for Tim, I love it. This team has needed an attitude and he brings it. Yeah, they suck right now, but he's going to be a big part of the future. When (hopefully) his team gets good, they're going to need to bring that type of attitude. As someone else posted earlier, we saw yesterday who the leader of this team is.2 points

One thing to keep in mind, they did hit Anderson in the ass. If you are going to hit a guy, that is the classiest place to hit him. If they hit him anywhere else, there could have been big trouble.2 points
-
Agreed, his defense alone is worth the upgrade from Palka. Cordell might come up and Engel it up at the plate sometimes but he has decent pop with solid RF defense. 2 things that Palka was not doing these first 3 weeks.2 points
-
I'll say this.. it's better than Hawk when the team is bad. It got to the point where Hawk would go innings without talking.2 points

The funny thing is that many of those arguing against Tim's "antics" are the very same ones who would complain about the world being too PC now.2 points

According to Rex Hudler, he must be put to death.2 points

Today is, in my opinion, the best day for the White Sox in terms of positive, nationwide media coverage in years2 points

There are people from from all corners of non-baseball twitter talking about Anderson and the White Sox is a positive light. This is objectively awesome.2 points
