I get that, but nobody even knew he said anything until mlb told them. Tim lost half a game, fine him and leave it be. Instead, they suspend him, everyone says why that is total bullshit, and then the MLB has to tell everyone he said a racist word which also has divided the conversation (whether he should or should not be able to say it, context, comparison to other situations like Schwarber). the whole situation was handled extremely poorly by mlb starting with Joe West and they only made everything worse at every turn3 points

Flipping/throwing your bat and yelling towards your teammates is not taunting the other team, nothing Anderson did was directed towards anyone on the Royals.3 points

The reaction on this board is disproportionate to what I've seen online. Tim Anderson has been making a name for himself of a national scale in an overwhelmingly positive way. Both baseball fans and non-baseball fans adore him right now.2 points

I don't have any problem with celebrations; I just think there is a time and place to do it., And having said that, I think throwing at Anderson was bush. Back in 1969, many opponents hated Ron Santo's heel clicking. But he did that after the game, and the Cubs had won. Santo was far from my favorite person, but Cub fans enjoyed it. But imagine if he did that on the way to the dugout after a home run. That would be a bit much. I have no problem with Anderson's intensity. But intensity needs to be channeled. He has the talent to be a great player, and I wouldn't want anything diverting him from achieving that goal. Remember, the Sox lost this game. Finally, all these celebrations are getting boring. Play the damn game already.2 points

https://www.si.com/mlb/2019/04/20/tim-anderson-white-sox-improving-vs-sliders-video Looking at those gifs, the writer actually does a nice job describing the major change but the two things to look at are his hands (and his trigger) and his front foot. Because he keeps his front foot in the air, he keeps his hands back which gives his bat more time in the zone with the ball. But with his old load and trigger, anderson would be late on everything if he waited until the ball was coming to put his front foot down. If you look at the first two gifs, his load starts higher, drops lower and then he brings his hands back before forward. His hands are so good that when he got his foot down fast he could get them to the zone but he was off balance, and all the power was shifted to his hands and wrists only. With his load and trigger this year, he starts his hands higher and only drops them to his shoulder level and then instead of pulling them back, he simply finishes his bat wiggle to get his hands in position on rhythm and then hes straight to the ball. Shorter and quicker and he has the power of his lower body waiting back on off speed stuff and his hands are quick enough to turn on anything fast. Those may look like subtle changes but they can mean everything for timing.1 point

I'm pretty pumped about it. Luis Robert has five home runs in 10 games and continues to build a case for AA. Read about his success, along with Advanced-A standouts Nick Madrigal, Codi Heuer and Alec Hansen here!1 point

Hey there are a few of us over 40 crowd (way over ) that say celebrate whenever you want. Life is too short. Be happy in the moment, any moment. Celebrate life. A really good hitter fails 7 of 10 times so live it up when you succeed while you can.1 point

Booker has done nothing but produce, and obviously small sample size, but he is hitting about .390 in AA right now. He deserves a little recognition.1 point

Where have you been for the past few years? That has been exactly the plan.1 point

But I keep getting told he has and will have no power and he is a non-prospect...so this can’t be right1 point

Gavin Sheets putting the ball in the air becomes so, so much more interesting as a prospect.1 point

Alonso, the catchers, Nate Jones, Abreu if he's actually washed up. They're already the 2nd worst team in fWAR defensively, and that's a big reason they've lost some of their recent games.1 point

Not too far off. Add an earned run and subtract the 2 walks.1 point

Can’t convince me this is a well-coached team1 point

I wish they gave catch probability because the expected BA doesn't actually compute to 1 minus catch probability. The actual catch probability could be more or less than what is implied by .230 expected BA. The expected BA doesn't factor in where fielders are positioned or the left/right direction of the batted ball1 point

It’s almost the easiest baseball decision the Sox have over the next year. That man can’t play outfield, nor should would we want him to.1 point

I mean there's not many LF that catch that but dude, you gotta track the ball better and play the carom.1 point

And my god Eloy hurt himself because he is a DH playing LF.1 point

You did. Think he got down 0-2 and battled back, as well.1 point

I would be real happy if Basabe comes back and just goes nuts. Especially with the slow starts of other OF not named Robert.1 point

Happy Easter! Won't be able to catch the game today but I love the lineup. Hoping for a good outing from ReyLo and a bat chuck or two by Timmy. Love the new Banner, btw. ??1 point

I’m expecting a big start out of Lopez today. Something like 6 IP, 8 K, 2 BB, 0 HR, & 1 ER.1 point

I think the only place you could argue is it may be the case that Jose Rondon has leapfrogged Yolmer, but that depends on how much of Yolmer's brutal start is just an anomaly and of course we're not totally sure what Rondon is going to be.1 point

A buddy of mine who is a diehard Cubs fan and generally has had nothing nice to say about the White Sox randomly told me last night that Tim Anderson is now his favorite White Sox player. Seems like most baseball fans across the country (below ~40 in age) love that Tim plays with emotion and isn’t going to change because some bully with a baseball tells him otherwise. It’s really nice to see it’s not just Sox fans getting behind this.1 point

Relax . He still has little experience . It's a long season .Another month in A+ won't hurt. The best prospect on the planet has over 1000 minor league AB's ( Vlad Guerrero Jr.). Robert has 329. Moving him means moving other pieces to accommodate him. He still has a lot to learn. Baseball isn't as easy as he is making it look right now. No sense grinding him down . He's on fire now but long seasons do wear a guy down who is not used to it yet no matter how good a physical specimen he is. Let's see if he can stay healthy for 6 months while playing nearly every day. If he does there's a decent chance he can start next year with the Sox but I would imagine with so little experience that he will struggle at some point in AA or AAA and he will need to adjust and we will need to stay patience just like with Moncada.1 point

2 tips that will make your like immensely better. 1. Celebrate anything that makes you happy 2. Don't use other's happiness as a reason to be unhappy Just finished that monthly report you hate? Toss it on the boss's desk and do a little shimmy. Finally found the bug in your program? Secret handshake line down the row of cubicals. Nothing to celebrate? Celebrate the fact that you have celebrated 5 days in a row. And when you see your coworker doing their little shimmy while you still have hours left on your report? Don't pout, or sulk, or judge them for not meeting whatever arbitrary standards you have set for yourself. It's just misplaced anger. Give them a smile and a high five instead. Celebrate the mundane y'all. There's some absolute truth ?1 point

feels like I'm watching more out of inertia at this point than for actual enjoyment plot lines have gotten absolutely ridiculous, and the ending is feeling more rushed than a Stephen King novel1 point
