Can I propose a rule that we stop mentioning Madrigal as a part of a championship team until his OPS at A-Ball is no longer bouncing around .700?4 points

This is what a lot of games are going to be like in a year or two. Keep the faith.2 points

Alright, let's bring in Fry now so we can have a comeback win in the 8th.2 points

This too. I don't even get satisfaction when we get good Nova, I don't even care.2 points

I could see Eaton being a biter to be honest.2 points

Lol Eaton calling drake LaRoche the team leader was one of the most embarrassing things I've been in the professional baseball world. Good on Frazier for calling out his bullshit.2 points

Good timing with me bumping this thread yesterday and Yoan's golden sombrero. The thing is, even with the 4ks he's still way above where I thought he would be at this point in this season Can't wait to see what he does as a 24 year old.2 points

I think you guys are overreacting about a really small sample size. Everyone has a couple bad games and nobody was touching Verlander last night. He'll be fine.2 points

If we're putting together the list, somewhere at the top of it needs to be Robin Ventura. This mess happened under his "watch". IMO he checked out starting in 2013 and the fact that all this is still going on is a testament to how much of a problem that became.2 points

Yeah, we heard about this feud. I had no idea Jimmy Rollins got into it with Lawrie. Lawrie is one guy if I was looking for a fight, I would avoid. He seems like he could go way nuts.2 points

How about a little common sense reasoning to this Rendon discussion? The Sox whiffed on Machado so they moved Moncada to 3B, likely with the thought in mind that they just drafted a 2B in the first round. They have cried poor countless times when it finally comes to sealing the deal and locking up a big time free agent. But next offseason, the Sox are going to pay big money for Rendon and move Moncada back to 2B or play Rendon at 2B? And they will just keep Madrigal in limbo? Deep down, you guys must realize this hypothetical Rendon signing isn’t happening, right? What recent events have occurred regarding the Sox in free agency that indicate that the Sox will spend big on a top free agent? Haven’t we already received the answer to this question ?1 point

I tell ya what I'd pay good money to see Sale and Eaton fight. Sale has an obvious reach advantage but if Eaton gets him on the ground it might be Eaton that emerges the winner.1 point

I've always wondered if genuinely believed what he was saying or just went too far trying to back up Adam LaRoche1 point

I've been far and wide in baseball circles, and I'm here to tell you, Drake LaRoche is best leader I've seen. I wouldn't necessarily call him edgy, but, when he's shagging balls he's 100% effort and guys just feed off of it.1 point

Buster Posey is the best leader I've ever had the privilege to be around in the baseball world... he is the exact opposite of edgy or tough/mean. He's a selfless teammate in a world filled with selfishness. Buster is a pretty good winner too I'd say.1 point

Or they could have a power hitting catcher and a light hitting 2nd baseman. There's no best way to do it. The whole is what matters.1 point

It would be awesome if more players did this. Well, probably not from a baseball standpoint, but from a 'I don't like the old rich guys who run baseball teams' stand point.1 point

I feel this is a common occurrence with Reinsdorf owned teams. You see ridiculous stuff like this all the time with the bulls. Paxson grabbing Del Negro by the tie, the players temporary mutiny against Boylen this year. There are plenty of other examples as well.1 point

The Sox have scored 1 run in two games. There is no such thing as a moral victory when you get clowned by a team and manage to win 1 out of 4. You think our players come out thinking "well at least we won one"? If they count that as a moral victory, they should be embarrassed.1 point

If you're going to compare Moncada to Baez, wait until Moncada is 27 too. Personally I think Moncada will be a better player, but we just don't know yet.1 point

The growing pains of a rebuild. Soon (maybe two years) we will start looking like Houston.1 point

It's admittedly annoying to have to see this in the news once again. I'd rather just remember Eaton as being a pretty good player in his 3 seasons with the White Sox.1 point

Hey, I'm just happy someone else is just as miserable about the 2016 Sox as I am. The Shields trade that topped the whole thing off is the perfect epitaph to a not-good and not-enjoyable team.1 point

They both are showing their was plenty of blame to go around there. Ozzie said last night everyone hated Eaton, but Frazier certainly isn't showing much with his behavior. Let it go, it was 3 years ago, and you don't have to deal with each other every day.1 point

You have the people that complain about guys that start slow but heat up after Memorial Day when the “games don’t matter” because the Sox are “out of the race” (Abreu). Now we have people that complain about a guy that does pretty much the opposite, at least so far in his very short career. People always find reasons to complain and that’s why we don’t deserve nice things.1 point
-
What career? He's in his 2nd full season. Jesus, dude. We've hit this weird point in sports where people get so wrapped up in their arguments that they want players that are associated with management to fail. There's not a doubt in my mind that some of you guys want him to bust because he's a Hahn/Kenny player, even though he plays for your favorite team. I see it in other sports too. The internet has created some weird phenomenons.1 point

Exactly right Ace, I can never root to end the misery of Blues fans but fuck if I hate having to root for Boston to do it. Hoping it goes 7 and Boston wins to at least maximize the pain for Blues fans.1 point
-
Seriously. It's the ultimate worst case scenario. I despise everything about Boston but you are not a true Hawks fan if you are rooting for fucking St. Louis. So go Boston I guess... and hope it's going to be their last title for the next 50+ years.1 point

What I will never understand is why LaRoche was signed in the first place. This weird stuff with his son had to pre-date the White Sox. If I knew some idiot player wanted his son hanging around the clubhouse all the time, I wouldn't want that player near my team. Sounds like the Sox front office was asleep at the wheel again. Thinking about 2016 makes me cringe.1 point

And remember Hahn publicly said defense was going to be emphasized in spring training this year. LOL...right. Sox had zero chance tonight, nada. Verlander made them look like a Little League team. Moncada with the "Golden Sombrero" and Eloy looks completely lost now both in the field and at the plate. And Covey was....well Covey.1 point

No accountability in the entire organization. Yet we all still watch all the games, pay money for tickets, and spend time away from family to talk about it. Who are the real idiots here? (Yes, thumb firmly pointed at myself)1 point

Nerd/obsessed fan moment: I was friends with Adam Eaton on facebook. I posted a picture of a fish that I caught. He literally commented on it and asked me how big it was. I will always admire him for taking the time to do that. Made my day lol. And this happened like 2 years ago.1 point

Honestly, I’m glad all the players involved are gone, from Rollins and LaRoche who were washed-up and should have never been signed, to Frazier who was mediocre with the Sox, to Eaton who is a man child but quite honestly contributed most to the current state of the Sox by performing and getting traded for three players. LaRoche’s son should have never been allowed in the clubhouse as if he was a player. Rollins was right about that. And why did the Sox even give a player of LaRoche’s ilk special privileges anyways? ?1 point

Heresy =/= hearsay. Unless you think Eaton is divine.1 point

What's even more of an indictment of the organization is that the manager Robin Ventura let this crap go on without doing a damn thing apparently.1 point

I want to pretend this is stupid and I’m not interested, but this is fantastic and has greatly enriched my day.1 point

I've said it before and I'll say it again- baseball is a game and it's fun. Benetti is having fun The alternative is someone like Hawk who's completely miserable, thinks that his opinions are facts and b****es all game long Hawk might be better if this team is good in 2020 and 2021, yet even then, Benetti is really good in close games and on big calls, so I imagine he'd be the same way for a consistently competitive team1 point

So you're essentailly going to counter a 350 PA clip with a 14 day sample size? Come on, guy.1 point
