Then let him hang around the clubhouse. I am 0% interested in ever seeing him bat in an actual MLB game for the White Sox. He is useless to this rebuild imho.5 points

It's incredible that you believe people follow you around internet message boards. You're in the 2019 MLB Draft thread on 2019 MLB DRAFT DAY.4 points

It’s the draft thread. People aren’t here for petty crap. Any more peeing contests are going on time out, as Greg says.4 points

Frank Thomas over Willie Mays is the homer-est thing I've heard since Hawk retired.3 points

Thank god the Yankees got an extra pick to restore competitive balance.3 points

Maybe the negative posters are just posting more but I feel like Vaughn is being extremely underrated here.3 points

ray ray is always on 11, which rarely works well for message board posting careers.3 points

Get him the hell out of here. Vaughn may be a better hitter than him TODAY3 points

No, an absolute is saying something like never draft someone for some arbitrary reason.3 points

If you don't play Abrams at SS, then he's probably nowhere close to being worth the #3 pick.3 points

Tilson and Cordell are useful players and CF is covered with Leury, who is now at .9fWAR and playing a nice CF. Jay should be put out to pasture. Just cut him. I'd rather have Cordell.3 points

Harold Reynolds drinking game: Every time he comps someone to a´Hall of Famer you take a shot. First one dead wins.2 points

The problem I have with this coverage is every player is described as a future HOFer. They need a Mel Kiper Jr. to say some team doesn’t know what the draft is about to mix things up a bit.2 points

This pick is making the Abreu stans insecure. Abreu will be traded this deadline or will settle for a fair contract this off-season, which won't be huge. Vaughn might be better than him today, especially considering defense.2 points

So SD is turning into the should have been White Sox with Abrams’, Tatis, and Machado.2 points

In about an hour, Andrew Vaughn will be part of our organization. It will be my favorite draft pick since Rodon2 points

The other thing I like about Vaughn is oppo power, not afraid to use the whole field. Makes it unlikely he would be eaten alive by shifts.2 points

There really is no good reason to waste at bats on this guy. He hit the Hahn lotto. Now stay home and enjoy the $4 million.2 points

I just really, really, really don't understand those who are concerned with "wasting money" to add to the 26th highest payroll in baseball. Jerry has freaking money to spend and using it to sign Dallas, does absolutely nothing to hurt this franchise's future.2 points

I find it extremely unlikely the Orioles pass on Adley, although if he does have "shoulder issues" its possible they do pass on him. These are the Orioles afterall.2 points

Regressing towards an xFIP really isnt a thing. Standardizing home runs against basically standardizes quality of contact against - which can vary pitcher to pitcher. Giolito could be a true 8% home run guy with his new stuff. Normalizing towards FIP is much more likely.2 points

Eloy is a gargantuan long limbed fellow . Baseball is the one sport for all shapes and sizes but i think the tall long limbed need to make more adjustments to compact things. Shorten the swing , maybe a crouch to keep your strike zone smaller. The long armed guys like to get full extension on swings and many stand off the plate and hitting the opposite way is natural like it is to Eloy. Problem is big leagues pitcher have great curves and slidesr and live on and off the outside edge of the plate; As much as Eloy likes going to right field that makes him susceptible to those pitches. Even when he makes good contact I've seen him line out to the right fielder already more than a few times. He might have to move closer to the plate and relearn what he wants to swing at so instead of lining out to right he can either hit the RCF gap or put it in the RF seats. He'll also be much better at driving the ball to CF. If he does this and succeeds then pitchers will start seeing how he handles stuff inner portion of the plate which he might handle better if he is good as being less tall and shortening the arms to pull the ball much like we saw recently from Tim Anderson and Abreu.2 points
