  1. Can you ever admit you were wrong ? Your post said at the time he was acquired he was struggling. Then you move the goal posts and say the previous 3 years.

  2. You think very highly of yourself if you think you speak for everyone.

  3. I think we better keep Colome. He has been very useful.

  4. Rather than hating Alonso like so many, we could all just quietly move on with thoughts of improvement. People do not treat Palka much better.

  5. Robert is 21. You literally just called a year of control of 28 year old Luis Robert, the #5 prospect in baseball, worthless. That's an awful take.

  9. There aren't enough likes for this post. In all of sports, I don't think I hate any team more than the Twins. There is at the very least a level of respect for the Packers. Not so with the Twins and all of the years of cheating in that godforsaken dome.

  10. Burr went down so it was only natural for Hamilton to join him.

  12. I think we know why his velocity was down. The patella tendon doesn't just tear. Its had problems for awhile.

  13. Glass is not official. I have conflicting info. There's a reporter from his hometown that kept swearing to us that Glass was signing for $200K. Hasn't happened. It's not official. If Glass signs for $200K then they can offer Krogman like $225K and see if he bites.

  14. Of course something is wrong. They can’t get the pitchers to stay healthy or be effective. Big changes need to be made.

  15. Saying the sox dropped the beat writer because of finances and at the same time they were giving big wigs bonuses is not mutually exclusive.

  16. Yup. I've been of that opinion for weeks. He's set up to fail in Charlotte.

  17. So it will be a pointless to have a potential star player one additional year in his prime? Lol at that take. Skole is 2 years and change older than Palka. That is definitely something. Look, I am not a huge Palka guy. But I don't really see the problem in giving him one more shot. We are not flush with options at the moment.

  18. There is a zero percent chance that Quintana's $10.5M option is not picked up unless he gets injured and will miss most of next season or gets hit by a bus. ZERO PERCENT chance. And what a blowhard like Kaplan thinks about Quintana is completely irrelevant. I am all for the Sox resigning Quintana after 2020, though.

  19. They sure could. Heyward is having just as good an overall season than everyone except McCann and Moncada. His good defense could make it an argument with Anderson, Abreu, and Eloy for third as it stands right now.

  20. I'm not sure I understand all the hatred for Palka. At 26 he had a .780 OPS in his first shot in the majors, hit 27 home runs in 3/4 of a season (120 games) and finished fifth in rookie of the year balloting. He's a left handed hitter. He dramatically improved his walk rate this year (n AAA and majors). Yes he was terrible in 35 At bats this year in April in terrible weather...but then put up a .920 OPS in AAA. I don't think he's a star but he sure seems worth another look.

  21. No they couldn't.

  22. I don't really care what the denominations are so long as they got the guys they wanted. It pissed me off when it was Walker/Sheets going over slot for some reason when it could have affected getting good young prep talent, but they got good young prep talent in this case and we just have to trust their scouts and pd regardless (trust = cross fingers and hope)

  23. Ryan Goins has over 1500 mlb plate appearances. He’s well into his 30s. He’s had his chance and he’s been awful. There is zero benefit to giving him or Escobar or any other journeyman player that isn’t a pitcher a chance.

  24. Thank you. The whole premise of signing him and Jay in the first place was ridiculous, embarassing and an insult to the fanbase.

  26. I feel like a really big catcher would be good at framing because they can block the view of the ump and give a big target to the pitcher.

  29. How did a thread about McCann being a finalist for starting the all star game devolve into yet another thread about how the Sox missed out on Machado and Harper? Back to topic: I think we all knew Sanchez would get the most votes, but it's still disappointing. McCann should still make the all star game; he definitely deserves it.

  30. I don't know... There's only so much an organization can take. Alonso had hit that threshold. Maybe a little more leeway if Machado is here, but there's still a fine line when you're killing a team.

  31. I can see why you have trouble keeping a job. That is far too much supervision needed for most jobs to maintain any type of high level of production. Sounds like you need a factory or warehouse job where everything is on a movement and production schedule.

  32. I’m not saying abandon him as a catcher completely. But McCann is the far superior catcher and Collins bat could be used at DH frequently now that Alonso is out of the way. Let him catch 1-2 days a week and DH against RHP. I suspect that is what we’ll see moving forward.

  34. Writing off Rutherford after struggling in his first stint in AA despite him being 1.7 years younger than league average was always dumb and a. stupid reactionary hot take.

  38. I did? me thinks you are confusing me with Jay Mariotti. And personally I could care less if you think I lost credibility or not. As always I look forward to your enlightened responses, personally I'm glad to be of service to you... always enjoy it when you get irritated! ?

  39. Years ago I could have had a job with the White Sox. I couldn't take it. I had other concerns at the time. Looking back at that, I should have taken the job.I figure I could have moved up the ladder over time and would have probably become the White Sox GM.
