  1. Appears to be right up our alley. By all means sign him up and Renteria will immediately put him in the lineup at DH and of course batting 4th.

  3. ? People are responsible for their own actions. I voted for him in 2016, and I will again, and somehow I've never endeavored to use racial slurs or treat anyone like shit because of their race. Your friends became and continued to be jackasses all on their own. I bring this up mainly because it's a good lesson for you overall. Own yourself, man. The key to your future is you. You continually blame third parties for your failures and for your friends' racist idiocies, rather than placing that accountability where it belongs.

  4. The people who are tuning in at this time of year with a losing team tend to be actual baseball fans not casual catch a game once in a while folks IMO. I feel disrespected when you subject me to this crapola instead of talking baseball. Actually...Jason didn't seem to know how to react to him. Tom Paciorek would have been a much better choice for my taste.

  7. You forgot that a claim here blocks Collins yet again, so the “conspiracy theorists” can make hay with the fact that the organization keeps figuring out ways to prevent him from being on the big league roster again in favor of Castillo, AJ Reed, Matt Skole, etc.

  8. The Sox lineup gets to face both Greinke and Cole in one day? Oh boy...

  12. "I'll take no for a 100 Alex." Don't think he brings anything over what we have and further blocks Yermin! I do expect Collins and Zavala up when rosters expand and/or minor league season ends.

  13. The urination stuff came from a fake report of opposition research. 1) Great point. 2) The jail didn't have a suicide all year. Epstein was the most high profile prisoner in the country. No individual prisoner should have been under higher surveillance than Epstein. This can't be chalked up as incompetence. This is something deliberate. There was "maintenance" when it happened and the cameras "malfunctioned." Sounds reasonable.

  15. Don't need a half way to St. Patrick's Day when you can play a Week After St. Patrick's Day game.

  17. He was part of the Frazier deal, IIRC. He got traded by the Dodgers to the A's.

  18. Let's make it to the ALCS first. Tatis Jr's success is much more guaranteed than an ALCS run at this .point.

  20. Sitting at the game yesterday I couldn't help but remember that Oaklands pitcher Chris Bassitt was once a member of the White Sox organization. He was traded by Hahn with Marcus Semien for jeff Samardzlia. Bassitt would sure look good in the White Sox rotation. This trade was another bad one by Hahn.

  21. I'm not in the military and I can tell you that you are not correct. A huge majority of jobs hire the most qualified applicants outside of different hiring practices. Also to your comment about companies having a higher societal or social responsibility over profit is wrong. That is the entire purpose of a business Jack. At the end of the day they really don't care about you, nor should they really.

  22. @greg775 this may be our chance at getting a Guillen back as manager of the White Sox. I hope so. Nothing beat Ozzie talking about the rats at Wrigley Field. Comedic gold.

  23. I do. That is true. Personally if you look at Jose's 125 hits, 24 homers and 83 RBIs in 114 games, he has added some nice moments to a horrible season IMO. At least for me.

  24. And Clinton flew on the Lolita Express more than 2 dozen times, literally helped start and donated to the Clinton Foundation, Epstein had 20+ ways to contact Bill, and also had multiple other meetings and trips with the guy. And I know you aren't going to sit there and speak of Trumps character when simultaneously ignoring Bill Clintons. Give me a break.

  26. I can't imagine what Sox management is thinking. This crap has nothing at all to do with baseball. Whoever thought of it is just dumb.

  27. This is amazing. We aren't sacrificing anything as our team will play in one of the coolest scenarios this century. This game will be talked about big time and we are already getting big time attention today. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the first team to do this.

  28. Terence Mann: Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

  29. It will be fascinating to observe how the reflexive negativity displayed in this thread, and on this board generally, will try to hold up if this core takes shape and the evidence of the rebuild's success becomes undeniable. I wonder if there will still be a soldier firing "....but Tatis!" bullets out of his cave while the rest of the board discusses pitching matchups for the ALCS.

  31. Hahn is so full of shit. Even if what he says is true it was a trade that in and of itself was remarkably misguided. When the Shields trade was announced hardly anyone here wanted him The board was overwhelmingly against it and that was not really from knowing much about Tatis but because we knew so much about Shields. He was just a bad pitcher who wasn't getting any better and thinking he would help some magical 2nd half run was nonsense. All Hahn is doing is spinning a negative into a positive to make the FO mistake not seem like such a big mistake. Every time he open his mouth I can see his forked tongue, They should've asked themselves why they thought a bad pitcher who was just blasted by the owner could become a good pitcher and why they wanted him for 3 years when if they truly wanted to win that year they could have targeted a better pitcher for just that particular year.

  32. Bingo. Clearly he doesn't have much strength in his hand yet. Only 4 XBH in 110 ABs, 0 homeruns. He had 12 XBH in 231 ABs, 6 homeruns last year in the same league. This reminds me of Robert when he was battling his hand injury. Use the ABs to develop, but essentially swinging with one hand so you have to take the numbers with a giant grain of salt. I hope he gets stronger as the season progresses.
