Lol Ricky goes on a rant about how he trusts his gut then immediately starts taking everyone’s advice in lineup making. I’m not complaining, maybe the front office addressed it with him.4 points

fucking Ryan Grigson and Colts leadership not ever caring him enough to get him an OL3 points

I'm a Colts fan. Can we have more baseball please? I need that gap to be filled from late November to spring training. How about AZL II?2 points

They showed a fan taking off his jersey. I wouldn't be shocked if there's video of fans burning his jersey soon (they should be blaming Grigson).2 points

One is Latin and the other black. Those arent the same races. Besides that, great point there einstein. In the sports comp world, people of similar skin color seem to always be comped to each other.2 points

There is being pessimistic and there is thinking the Sox will sign the corpse of Matt Moore.2 points

I've been thinking about what I posted in this thread for a while, and really it does me no good to constantly b**** about getting the short end of the stick. Being angry and bitter does me no good, I should just move forward from here and try to make the best of my situation as it exists today.2 points

Allard was a nice get for them, but he had lost most of his prospect shine. They bought low on him.1 point

"Latino" isn't really a race actually, Latin people can be black (african slaves), white (spanish colonialists) or native latin american or any mix of those. Most Cubans are actually african because cuba had slaves like the US. But I agree that the race comp thing is stupid (like any white tall guy who can shoot 3s is compared to Dirk Nowitzki or any fast athletic black guy to other fast black guys)1 point

Reyes and Allen were the guys with the most value in that trade. Where they hit in the order is irrelevant. They added Puig as a cheap upgrade for their atrocious outfield. They did not specifically trade Bauer to acquire Puig, to argue that is bonkers.1 point
-
What does Logan Allen have to do with winning anything...he’s not even a Top Ten prospect in SD. Reyes has 68 bats since the trade. Puig has 72. And Puig has been hitting cleanup or out of the 5/6 hole, Reyes usually hits lower in the lineup.1 point
-
lol no, they added Franmil Reyes and Logan Allen first and foremost.. Presenting the deal as Bauer for Puig+ is just hilarious.1 point

Has Puig ever played on an MLB team with multiple Cubans? Not saying it’s guaranteed to work but having the veteran presence of Abreu as well Moncada and Robert may be enough to keep him in line.1 point

Again, that’s going to be a roster with a $75M payroll. What is the point of financial flexibility if we’re afraid to use it? I will say this with absolute certainty: not landing at least one of Cole, Strasburg, Wheeler, Bumgarner, or Ryu would be a complete & utter failure and would likely be a precursor to the rebuild failing. Filling in holes with quality free agents is an essential part of finishing this thing off. We don’t necessarily need to sign Cole, but if our biggest additions are huge question marks like Wacha & Wood then god help us all.1 point

Eloy and Castellanos in the same OF... let's not do that to poor Robert lol.1 point

Yeah another reclamation project doing well especially as a starter. Rule 5 eligible so another guy who is intriguing and pitching for his future. If I am counting right, last 33ip, 6ER , 8w, 39k1 point

Well the free agent market is incredibly deep with starting pitching, so that’s one area. I fully expect us to sign one high end starter (even if it’s not Cole) and wouldn’t surprised if we added a second lesser one. No idea why we’d ever trade that much prospect currency for Marco Gonzalez (your proposal is a gross overpay), let alone so we can rock a $75M payroll next year. That simply doesn’t make a lick of sense whatsoever and you honestly can’t actually believe that’s a plausible scenario.1 point
-
At 59-69, the Sox are just 3 wins shy of last year's total. The rebuild is well on its way. If you discount the horrid stretch immediately after the ASG, when the Sox lost 16 of 20 games, they have a record 55-53 in all the other games---that's two-thirds of the season playing better than .500 ball!!.1 point

Grandal should be #1 target other than a top of rotation SP. And Grandal should be reasonable - 3/$60M should get it done. Resign Abreu and trade for one of lefty RF you mentioned or sign Alex Gordon on the cheap and then go to battle.1 point
-
I’d question my White Sox fandom if that was our offseason. That being said, there is zero chance something so pathetic like what you mapped out here happens. The Sox will not be rocking a $75M payroll next year, which is exactly what you’re suggesting.1 point
-
Time to finish closer to .500. Let these kids start tasting winning and getting closer to play meaningfull games. Let them learn to play spoiler and have fun with it. Have them learn this team ain't gonna be a doormat for other teams and that they are coming for you1 point

Fortunately, my renter's insurance covered theft and due to the sheer volume of games stolen (many PS3 games I hadn't played since getting a PS4), I was able to get a good TV (Black Friday sales extended into the weekend not long afterwards) and replace my PS4.1 point

If you sign Grandal, it’s to be the starter. Anything else would be a huge overpay.1 point

Is the new narrative on Coop that he’s lazy? Jesus. I get if you think he’s out of touch, but lazy? Should he do a mound visit every batter?1 point

It is so weird how people act like this is a thing. - No reason castillo needed to be on team, he was bad and left team out to try after signing him to a contract - No reason the team couldn't upgrade bullpen without trading Narvaez The reason you give up on Narvaez would be if you thought his bat was the issue, but he has now posted back to back years with a 120 wRC+. That beats our 1b, that beats our DH, and it beats the last several years of DHs. He has a high obp, his bat can handle the lower .iso - because he was cheap and under control. A 1.5-2 WAR LH hitting player that can play catcher and is plus offensively would be valuable. The team needed a "defensive" catcher for their pitchers, they chose Castillo over Narvaez, not McCann over Narvaez.1 point
