  2. Did you ever notice that people who start a sentence "no offense" intend to be offensive. I have never heard the broadcasters explain where the data comes from and how it is collected and how many people does it take to do that. Saying it comes from MLB doesn't say much.

  3. This is the Braves 3rd or 4th rebuild since the late 80s. They have been below.500 six times since 1990.Rick Hahn is working on 7 for 7 below .500 as a GM.

  4. I wish I could suck at my job as much as these guys do and have someone make excuses for me like you do

  5. When someone humbles themselves by asking a question in this forum...any question...they would like an answer. They don't need to hear that it's a stupid question or that any good fan knows the answer. It's an effort to be superior or in my opinion bully. The poster used the term "any halfway tuned in fan for at least a few years" and that sounds a lot like he thinks very well of himself. Gregg, since you take a fair amount of heat from some of these site bullies...I would think you would recognize their tactics. Many good posters no longer post because 3 or 4 know it all posters take these aggressive postures.

  10. "No offense, but I'm about to say some REAL arrogant, snot-nosed bull shit to you... right now. Despite the fact that you are humbly asking a question, my response is about to demean the shit out of you as a baseball fan. My superiority will be demonstrated. Remember... no offense, though! "

  11. They should be announcing the new Scouting Director soon.

  12. Good call. You will enjoy the deck and it probably won't get all of your 14 back but it will increase the value.

  13. Considering that next year is year 4, does this look like a team ready to contend? It should be (with all due respect to the FO excuses and Hahn's outrageous self-serving claim that rebuilds take 7 years). The run differential is worse than teams in year 1 of their rebuild; a mere 12 runs better than the Royals. 20-25% of the roster is populated by certified org. guys. 7 straight losing seasons. A non-effort at the trade deadline. and on and on.

  14. *Sox get swept back to back by two really good teams 2.5 years after the rebuild starts* Ah fuck everything!!!!!! this whole plan is doomed!!! #logic

  15. 12 years of losing, which makes it amusing that posters still defend this front office. They have failed at trying to compete for years and the jury is still out at long-term rebuilding.

  16. Enough of this leaning along the way, they are major league baseball players act like it, why does no one from the top down take responsibility, and enough with it is a rebuild.

  18. They’re playing in a launching pad this weekend and have hit two balls by my count to the warning track or farther.

  20. The lack of power this team is hitting for is ridiculous. Maybe spend more time teaching them to drive the ball than bunting.

  21. Coming from the guy who gave us such hot takes as Yolmer is a really good player, Alonso is solid, Abreu cannot hit for a decent average anymore then he hits .356 the next month, and moving Moncada to 3B is stupid, it is ironic that you of all posters, would claim others have no idea what they are following. You definitely love yourself though, I will give you that.

  22. Renteria is probably not the worst manager in Sox history. But Hahn is neck and neck with Ed Short for the worst GM in Sox history.

  24. You are right about this. There are too many games when the Sox don't look like a major league club. In some series, they just get pasted and provide little or no competition. During the rebuild, there are too many players on this club that would not be on any other team, even a bad one. That is why this off season is important. The developing players have to be supported by at least a few veterans. Robert, Eloy and Moncada have the potential but are very young and they will struggle. No team wins with young players only. Expecting a contending team in 2020 is not realistic. Simply put: The FO can't tell fans to be patient anymore. The overall performance of the team needs to improve even if they don't contend for the post-season. Having a weak offense while giving up runs in double digits doesn't make it anymore.

  25. My gripe is that we have had an inordinate number of games that fall in the unwatchable category. The FO has a responsibility to keep it "entertaining". You can feel it in the game threads. Even the hard core Sox fan has stopped caring.

  26. Wouldn't the signing of Dallas Keuchel have helped this team this year? Instead they've had Manny Banuelos, Ross Detwiler, Odrisamer Despaigne, Ervin Santana, Hector Santiago, Ryan Burr and Carson Fulmer in the starting rotation. It gives some people the impression that the team is losing/tanking on purpose. AND of course, laughing all the way to the bank in doing so.

  27. Great post, I agree with you completely this has been for me the worst year of this so called rebuild. And the difference of this rebuild is we do not have the general managers of the Yankees, cubs, astros, or k.c., I am watching day in and day out players performing and doing things out on the field I just do not see from other teams, and enough of this it is only year 3 of the rebuild, can they at least look like they are baseball players once they are out on the field.

  28. This season is ending with a stale piss smell. Just like it started. Just another disheartening year and nobody here is getting any younger. I'm starting to feel that if the Sox don't compete next year they are going to lose the hardcore fans as well. Including myself. The on field play is bad enough. Some of the stats posted today on the forum -- 7 guys below replacement in the everyday lineup, a DH line worse than the Mets pitchers, some of the staff ERAs -- it's just horrendous. In year 3 of a rebuild you should see more green shoots. There''s 1 star on this club, a couple good players, and a couple average players. That's fucking it man. Then you add on the off field horse shit we've been fed with Ricky's rant, the Lisle dustup and so on, it's just, it's tiring man.

  29. They've given up 39 runs in the last four games. There is no doubt they need to address this in the off season in a big way. People are crazy to expect big things out of Kopech and Cease.

  30. How long will it be before this organization allows us to be talking about our playoff match-ups in September instead of all of their internal dysfunction? It's really tiresome. I want White Sox September baseball to mean something. It's been so damn long

  31. Btw won't capitalism die once all jobs are automated or outsourced? It is a great idea for like a phone company to build phones 100% automatically but who is going to buy the phones if 90% of the people have no job and income to consume?
