Don Cooper opening his fat mouth once again. Gee, I wonder why everybody is negative. Maybe because the team has been trash for well over a decade? Can't wait for him and his shit attitude to be gone.4 points

This orginization has a lot of fragile egos associated with it considering how awful they've been.3 points

Cooper has been among the least criticized coaches from horrible teams in history. And beer muscles? Isn't he the guy who goes on radio after a few and blasts those that don't accept losing? Obviously we can't know all that is involved day to day, minute to minute with the team. Maybe Cooo can point us to whose job it is to win, and we can finally rip on the correct person.3 points

Read some of the other posts. Not everybody agrees with the tanking philosophy and not everybody likes advanced stats and the reliance on HRs nowadays. Learn some patience, dissenters. Not everybody has to agree with you. Some of us have different viewpoints, such as El Rockin.2 points

And Moncada sucked vs them last year, but hey winning a meaningless game in September is important than trying to develop our young talent.2 points

Engel is a good player. Amazing how crazy the negative comments are after a gaffe2 points

Cooper does have a point about internet folk feeling bold behind the shield of their keyboards, but dude should really STFU and take this shit in stride. These type of comments only antagonize the fanbase further and do no good.2 points

Lol - these dudes are dead!!!! Jake Burger toe his fucking Achilles. Get a grip, dude.2 points

You were right. He definitely knows what he’s doing. No one could be that clueless. ?1 point

Anderson just got a walk but yes definitely need more OBP. The Sox lineup lately has been getting a lot of hits but not as many runs as they could be it lineup construction, poor hitting with RISP , lack of power or lack of OBP .1 point

It’s still early but Bush also looks like a guy that was overhyped.1 point

Sports leagues can fix it if they want to. Just throw all non playoff teams names in to a hat and randomly pick the draft order. Stop rewarding teams that lose on purpose. But they won't do that for some reason.1 point

With the money the Cubs have it should never have taken a tank job to win their one WS title in a zillion years. They should be contending like the Yankees and Bo$ox -- every year.1 point

Coop is harmless. However think of the paying customer on a night you have to watch Covey or Nova or Detweier or some of those hack relievers? If you've had a few beers you might want to b**** on Twitter. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to spend lots of time searching Twitter.1 point

I heard Bummer, Fulmer and lower level minor leaguer that wasn't Bush.1 point

I like when Donnie complains about attendance. The people listening are not the ones who ignore the team.1 point

“I don’t like that part of it. People are drinking beers, they get their beer muscles and they are not afraid to talk or act bigger. I don’t ever hear anything to my face at the field ever.” Wow, does Cooper think he is some tough guy who people are afraid of? The dude is old and shaped like a turtle.1 point

Back to the topic. Getter booed, hated on, etc. is a part of the game. Cooper needs to stop being a baby. When the Sox are playing better, fans will be cheering them and saying positive things on social media.1 point

You are mocking someone else for the exact same thing. That’s why this is funny.1 point

I think they're going to move Bryant, Contreras and Schwarber this winter. All three of them. They're going to re-sign Baez and Castellanos, and go from there. I also think Quintana could get traded.1 point

This is Coop's thing (and has been forever) and it gets tiresome. He even acts like Garfein is too negative when he goes on White Sox Talk Podcast and Garfein kisses his ass for 45 minutes. Here's where he has a point- Sox Twitter has taken a super negative and petty turn this year and its gotten just as tiresome. The Machado thing broke the fanbase. The team is in the middle of a rebuild. I keep reading people say "The team has had losing seasons X years in a row" or "Rick Hahn's record is X" as if that offers some insight. The team essentially tried to lose the past few years. In two weeks, that will finally end. The Sox record in 2017-2019 is largely irrelevant and Rick Hahn's winning percentage doesn't tell much of a story by itself. The perfect example of useless negativity- Josh Nelson keeps tweeting every time Kyle Lewis does something positive (with the implication that the Sox should have drafted him). I guess I understand why bloggers/podcasters do it. It riles people up and he gets clicks and downloads. If Zack Collins and the Sox fail, he gets to run around and say "I told you so." If they end up being great, no one will care to call him out. If I was trying to make money off of covering the team and I had no access, not many original thoughts, and not much of a personality, I'd probably take the same approach.1 point

I think you have to give him a shot last year after the changed he made after he was sent down again this year. You absolutely have to see if that change sticks. If he was sent back down a laid an egg, I would agree with you. But so far, I think he certainly deserves a look next year to see what he can do.1 point

So I guess Fulmer should get a spot too? I am concerned with having the best baseball team. Not rationalizing moves from years ago. People get injured. Collins should be in a position to step up if an injury occurs.1 point

There is no more slam dunk of a free agent for the Sox than Grandal. We have young players we have developed controllable for at least three seasons at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, SP1, SP3, SP4 & SP5 and a bunch of maybes at 1B/DH/OF. Invest in catcher. Plug the high OBP, switch-hitting veteran catcher in the #5 or #6 hole and never think twice about it.1 point

People are allowed to speak as they please. Hahn and Company can just ignore it and collect checks. Until the Sox prove themselves and discontinue their playoff drought, people will talk. And millions of men would gladly talk shit to his face if they wouldn't be jailed for it lol.1 point

I will agree he doesn't need to say it. However we gripe at coach speak yet b**** when they give honest comments. Can't win.1 point

I wouldn't want Maddon. He has 'smartest guy in the room' syndrome. He might be the only guy I'd rather keep Ricky over.1 point
-
You sure have to feel good for Palka. I loved that big grin on his face1 point

Would I want Maddon if I had my choice of any manager? No. Would I want Maddon over Renteria or Vizquel or any other terrible manager the Sox will likely go with? Yes, of course.1 point

I'm bought in on TA, Moncada, Cease, Eloy, Gio. The main person I'm all about now is Collins. I want him to solve our LH OBP problem.1 point

Nah Sox need to forge their own identity. It was bad enough Renteria managed the Cubs now Maddon ? No.1 point

And he almost cost his team a championship with his over-managing. Hell the fuck no.1 point

Without question I would want Joe. No manager is perfect. He is better than 99% of the alternatives.1 point

In a related move, the Patriots have also released owner Robert Kraft who was caught on tape involved in a sex ring that included trafficked humans. Oh, wait.1 point

I'm pretty positive right now, but talk to me in February. If Hahn and KW sit in their offices playing switch all winter again, the optimism will be tempered. A lot. For those that don't know, playing switch starts with one thumb in your mouth and the other up your ass......You get the picture.1 point

Ha. I do like my high ceiling position guys but there are a lot of college arms to like too. RHP Emerson Hancock (Georgia) has the best combination of body, athleticism and stuff. There's some effort to the delivery and he was ouchy last spring but he looks to have the highest ceiling among the college arms. RHP JT Ginn (Miss St) is a draft eligible sophomore who was a 1st round pick by the Dodgers but decided to go to school so if you think they know something about drafting players (they do) he would be a nice target. RHP Cole Wilcox (Georgia) is a big bastard and another draft eligible sophomore with a heavy fastball plus secondaries and plus command. He's probably the best combination of floor and ceiling among the college arms. He won't turn 21 until a month after the draft. LHP Asa Lacy (Texas A&M) is a pitchabilty lefty who gets it done more with deception than big stuff and those guys scare me this high in the draft. LHP Reid Detmers (Louisville) is another guy who doesn't show a big fastball but his plus plus curveball is a separator and the change and command are improving. Again top 10 may be too high. RHP Tommy Mace (Florida) is the guy I'm most interested in seeing this spring. He's tall (6'6”) and wiry and nasty as shit but his command comes and goes. If he's able to make a couple adjustments he could easily jump into the top 10. He reminds me a little of Jack McDowell. RHP Tanner Burns (Auburn) has really good shit but is an undersized righty with a max effort delivery. Reminds me too much of Carson Fulmer. I'm out. A few other guys I'll be watching closely are LHP Jake Eder (Vandy), Joe Boyle and his 100+ fastball (Notre Dame) and LHP Luke Little (San Jac)1 point

McCann would be for an excellent backup. I agree with that, and hope that is what he is for the Sox next year. But he's produced 2.2 fWAR this season. Good for 10th among all catchers in baseball. Unless you think there are only 9 starter quality catchers in baseball, this is another very poor hot take from Jack Parkman.1 point
