  1. Honestly curious - do you think people think this type of stuff (posting in every thread at once) and the poop bit are funny?

  5. The more I think about this move the more it smells like price collusion by the owners. This guy is a skilled player, 4.0 WAR player last year from what I understand. SOMEONE has to step up and take him on. That's just ridiculous. F*** it, the White Sox should do it.

  9. For sake of example, say the Sox trade for Bundy and Sign Wheeler. April/May roto 1) Giolito 2) Wheeler 3) Bundy 4) Cease 5) Lopez June roto 1) Giolito 2) Wheeler 3) Kopech 4) Cease 5) Bundy/Lopez ---> One of Bundy/Lopez goes to bullpen or serves as replacement for injury July/August roto 1) Giolito 2) Wheeler 3) Kopech 4) Rodon 5) Cease --> Dunning/Stiever could play a part in case of injury. Lopez/Bundy go to pen. One can be multi inning, one could be attempted late inning relief convert. September roto 1) Giolito 2) Wheeler 3) Rodon 4&5) Some combination of Lopez/Bundy/Dunning/Stiever/Lambert/Cease/Kopech

  10. The Soxtalk moderators must be hiding something. I'm looking at you @Kyyle23. Wheeler is getting signed tomorrow.

  11. He's bad defensively. You can get that out of Castellanos for just money.

  12. I can't imagine that the O's would give up Mancini, with 3 years of control, for just Rutherford, Sheets and Flores, let alone throw in Bundy. If they would do that deal, I'm pretty sure that Hahn would take it, in a heart beat. I don't care if Mancini bats RH. He hits RH pitching very well.

  13. I heard he threw four touchdowns, including the game winner at Polk High during the city championship game. Hell of a player.

  19. He can already hit. Maybe he can be the DLF (Designated left Fielder). Work on his fielding by just playing the outfield for both teams.?

  20. If that's the case, going by JR's newfound generosity with Abreu, Moncada will get $250 million and Robert $125 million.

  21. We had the Burr news on Monday morning at FutureSox. You just can’t always report everything you hear. I’m pretty sure Lombardo got it once Burr wiped the Sox affiliation on his social media.

  22. 16 pages? Pshhhh either Zack Wheeler isn't that exciting of a potential signing, or we've learned from our mistakes.

  23. I hope the Sox move on from Yolmer. Can't afford more than 1 or 2 no-hit types if they really think they can contend.

  24. Sad that he's a better defensive SS than Tim Anderson.

  25. This is what I have anticipated since day one. He is an excellent bench piece at 4 million. Once he doesn't find any takers at 6.2 million...very good chance he comes back home imo.

  26. He's just not good. No idea why they would be looking to him when there are better shitty pitchers available. It would have to include Mancini and that's not even really exciting. I just feel like the limited tradable assets we have could be put to better use than that.

  31. I'll say!!! 24 homers and 40 stolen bases, caught stealing just 9 times (80% success rate).

  33. He's a nice power/speed combination and switch hitter. Do you think his arm is good enough to move him to RF? If so, he might be an intriguing option, at $10 Million, with no long term commitment and no loss of a draft pick. He was especially good as a LH hitter: .280 .354 .465. Here is a quote from an article, which appeared today: This is the one storyline I’m eager to see come to a conclusion soon. I’m also a bit shocked that there are no takers for Villar who is coming off a 4.0 fWAR season in which he stole 40 bases and hit a career-high 24 home runs. Non-tendering Villar, despite his projected $10 million salary for next season, shouldn’t be an option on December 2nd. I’m all aboard the rebuild and support a lot of the moves already made by this organization, but if no one takes Villar this week, paying him his salary and plugging him back in the lineup should be the only option.

  34. Half of this board is not serious in nature during the offseason when it’s slow. We’ve been down this road before, best to just let each other be and move along.

  36. It's a steep price, but we know the Sox are going to pay for pitching this year, and it's arguable that giving Bumgarner a 4/75 deal is a greater risk than giving Wheeler 5/100.

  39. Fairly lukewarm on this if Sox are ainvolved. If the price is really just Sheets, it'd be whatever to me. There are definitely worse options than Bundy, but just don't see the point in using trade capital when there are similar arms of the FA market for only slightly more AAV.

  42. If those guys were all it took, we'd be paying Mancini something like $22 million over the next 3 years compared to what, $50 million over 4 years for Castellanos, and getting a 5th starter candidate out of it? So we'd effectively be turning Sheets, Rutherford, and Flores into $20+ million in savings and getting that 5th starter covered for $5 million?

  43. Abreu's extension was awful. So no, not better spent.
