Another pitcher off the market. What the hell is Hahn waiting for? Why aren’t we signing any of these guys? Oh wait, he signed with the Sox? Then what are we doing signing this washed up piece of garbage? Sorry, sometimes I get confused on how to fit in around here. (In all seriousness, I love the move. Now go sign Ryu or Keuchel.)11 points

I just turned to my coworker (who also reads the boards) and said, "Countdown to Moan4Yoan chiming in with something negative...3, 2, 1..." Then I hit refresh and sure enough! Thanks for giving us a good laugh, you miserable human being.8 points

They should’ve just signed Rendon if they wanted an impact bat.7 points

Soxtalk: why do people make fake and post fake baseball rumors?!?! Its so dumb. Soxtalk: *4 pages discussing a fake Lindor to white sox rumor*5 points

At this point, you’re just complaining for the sake of complaining. Gio Gonzalez is a lot better than the Covey’s and Despaigne’s of the world. This is a big upgrade for the Sox.5 points

I disagree with that strongly. The Q trade made sense for both teams. The Cubs were smack in the middle of a contention window, badly needed pitching, and preferably pitching that was controllable through the rest of the window -- and the trade partner is only a problem in the heads of a select group of local meatball fans, none of which would change any of their consuming habits based on the trade at all. The rebuilding White Sox couldn't have been farther away from affecting the Cubs future at all. A Lindor trade makes sense for neither. Cleveland would be trading its best player in the division, essentially defeating the purpose of trying to slightly weaken itself but still be able to compete because the division sucks. The White Sox would be trading high end, close to the majors prospects that it needs to pencil in its roster over the next couple seasons just to get a two year player in a position it already has filled, to take a two year shot with a highly flawed team with many others holes, specifically INSTEAD of using those chips to fill the actual holes they have. They would shorten their window while also hurting their ability to fill out the roster for the shortened window. Anything close to a fair, market-value trade would literally be the dumbest move the regime has made in the past two decades, at least.4 points

I'm excited to finally see him pitch in a Sox uniform. No problem with this as one of the moves for SP.4 points

Your statement is nothing but bs, I have zero interest replying to every comment you make on this site but this i will, the White Sox fan base is no different than any teams fan base. I see even the Yankees fans cry like a baby when they don't get some player, we have garbage ownership, and garbage management, enough of being the White Sox mouth piece.4 points

Also, you guys do realize this @Kpet1010 guy on this website is the same guy who tweeted the eyeball emojis & all of a sudden the Kpet here is talking the Kpet on twitter up yet I'm supposed to believe they aren't the same person? Stop giving him the attention he craves.3 points

Reinsdorf is a joke. Catching lightening in a bottle is the way he's run this organization since he bought it for peanuts then realized he couldn't compete with these far more affluent ownerships. The White Sox are cursed by historically bad ownerships. I hold out hope I'll live long enough to see this paradigm finally change.3 points

Here is a HOT TAKE.... I would rather trade Anderson than Madrigal if one had to be included for Lindor... oopsies.3 points

If we're doing a list of Sox that are past their prime, I'll contribute: Kenny Williams and Jerry Reinsdorf.3 points

Do you guys listen to yourselves? You guys would not want one of the best players in their prime? Same age as Anderson but not a 1 year wonder. Don’t know if he will do it again but Lindor has been consistent. There is something seriously wrong with you guys lol. It would have to be for Anderson, not madrigal or Vaughn. Anderson has value. I don’t believe in the trade but if it happened I don’t know why anyone would not be excited about it.2 points

Maybe it would cost that, but giving up Anderson, Madrigal + another piece for Lindor would be a complete rape. Anderson surplus value alone probably worth more than lindors for the rest of his control.2 points

Yeah, they clearly asked grandal for his thoughts on pitching and I'd be shocked if they signed Gio without a glowing endorsement from Grandal.2 points

I'd rather have Madrigal than TA any day of the year. Twice as many errors than walks, and a .399 BIP average.2 points

Dont think for one second that this didnt have something to do with grandals opinion if him last year in Milwaukee2 points

You guys aren’t nearly excited enough that we just traded for Lindor.2 points

Really solid signing. With Kopech and Dunning and Stievers all potentially in the pipeline ...for the second starter this is a under the radar move that all should support. His numbers last year were good and quite honestly he got over shadowed in Washington because their great rotation. Happy with some progress.2 points

[SETTING: PUNTA CANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT] [Source is boarding a plane on a windy runway, and reporter Frank Castillo is on the tarmac] [Source yells:] "Oh and one more thing, the White Sox are signing Cheslor Cuthbert!!" Frank Castillo: "I cant hear you, what did you say?" [Source yells:] "The White Sox are signing Cheslor Cuthbert!!" Frank Castillo: "What?" [Source yells:] "The White Sox are signing Cheslor Cuthbert!!" [Door to airplane closes; plane heads down the runway and takes off] Frank Castillo [to himself]: "I think he just said the White Sox are signing Marcell Ozuna."2 points

No, he is replacing 2020 Nova, as 2019 Nova has already completed the season.2 points

Hahn has said it without explicitly saying it. It's pretty obvious through context. Don't expect Kopech up until after the draft in June, or Memorial Day Weekend at the earliest. He needs to be down for 45 days to get the year back, and they're going to stretch it out a bit longer to avoid a possible grievance.2 points

To me, this tells me they are not going for a 2nd high end guy. Maybe another swing man, but nothing else. Giollito Lopez Kopech Cease Gonzales That will be the opening day rotation and maybe a swing guy for Kopech if he's not ready.2 points

One year deal for $3-5 million I'd guess as well. Low risk deal, and I think he still has some gas left in the tank. Hard for anyone to dislike this move as long as we look to add a higher quality option(s).2 points

I doubt the #1 driver of veteran minor league contracts is performance. Maybe they like how he works? His messaging to younger pitchers? I'm not gonna waste my energy judging a minor league filler signing.2 points
