  1. The Sox aren’t pulling Moncada or Madrigal late in the game for a defensive replacement unless it’s an absolute blowout. Also, his ability to switch hit is not valuable when he’s not good from either side.

  2. Yep, it’s embarrassing. Jimmy G cost a 2nd round pick. Pace wanted Adam Shaheen with that pick instead. Pace needs to be shown the door.

  5. I think Black Jack is just upset he is the most prominent White Sox of his era the team didn’t welcome back with open arms. Ozzie and Robin managed, Big Hurt is an ambassador and does TV work, even grumpy Carlton Fisk is an ambassador. Bo Jackson the same. Tim Raines coached. he probably feels entitled to something, but it shows being a jackass to JR usually doesn’t pay off in the end. Putting things in perspective, LaRussa was fired by Hawk before Jack had begun his junior year at Stanford,

  7. The D is still too good. Only hope would be Mack, Hicks, Smith, Jackson, and Robinson are out for extended periods of time. Maybe 5-11 gets them into the top 10 and the (hopefully new) regime pulls a Philly move and goes up for either guy.

  8. Nice to see the Packers were just frauds all along.

  10. Why? He hit .260 with 1 HR in 150 ab's and would cost 2 or 3 times Yolmers anticipated 3 or 4 million.

  11. If we want a cheerleader to clean up for Yoyo, Timmy, and Magical, I'd rather bring in Zobrist.

  12. Especially because Moncada is a better defensive 3B than Sanchez and Madrigal is probably about the same at 2B

  13. There’s a notorious “hangover” effect on the road when playing for the Rockies, so I really wouldn’t overreact to his splits.

  14. I always thought Ryne Sandburg wasn’t worthy of the HOF. Not in the top 100 in career hits, HR, RBIs, Runs, SB and others. He always lead the league in clean uniforms , though. His 60 WAR is 8 less than Lou Whitaker’s 68.

  15. It's a really bad comp because Bellinger has played more games in the OF than he has at 1B. Besides that no one should ever take any of these lists seriously. They have zero relevance whatsoever. It's just something to get people talking about baseball during the off season.

  16. Neither are the Sox , not for Arenado anyway.

  20. The moral high ground here is a slippery slope. Similar to condemning one husband for his wandering eye and acting as though the rest of the gang is guilt free. I recall Raffy's outrage before Congress before being outed for cheating. Most of these guys are not heroes.

  21. It's insane to me how strongly people believe in speculation that results from personal bias/prejudice. The lack of need for anything resembling objective evidence in our culture is just depressing.

  22. I would not say that if I didn't know them. These are former students. Not just people i met. I. do know people from the Russian and Chinese Olympic teams. I believe what they've told me and not surprised of the bans they've received. You can make all the guesses and suppositions you want. You are going to be wrong in most cases.

  23. I disagree with you guy immensely on Lavine and that doesn't mean that I disagree that he doesn't belong this year. Lavine is in a situation impossible for him to succeed. He has no other creators on the team, and no other true finishers. His "shooters" suck, and he feels he has to force the issue because no one else has any aggression. He's a dreadful defender and that needs to change, but the turnovers are more of a symptom of the bigger picture than of who he is as a player. I think LaVine still has a chance in the right scenario to be an impact player on a good team. I think he's a very talented, but the situation he's in is impossible.

  24. I'm not acting about anything. McDowell is talking as if he was full witness of the cheating, he was't even there. Going by pure hearsay.

  25. Schilling accumulated 79 WAR over his career. Borderline guys are around 66. He is a no doubter but unfortunately he hurt the poor baseball writers feefees with his politics, which have nothing to do with Baseball.
