Its obvious that the Dodgers werent going to trade Joc if they couldnt get Betts. Lets not pretend that it would have been a good idea to wait until the Dodgers made a move before looking for RF help. Come on now.6 points

GUYS! I just got a message back and word that I WILL BE SINGING APRIL 16!!!! Thanks all for your help. Probably wouldn't have gotten this far without the information! I owe you all a beer if I ever run into one of you.5 points

He's digging up a very old thread to prove his point again. Which is even more odd. lol3 points

They called Miami "Florida" and spelled Cincinnati wrong...so I think that is your answer.3 points

I don't know about you, but I think they really, really like Mazara. He hasn't shown much yet but if they unlock his swing and get him hitting fly balls he could be a monster.2 points

Rich Hill and Homer Bailey look better now than they did at the time. Donaldson and Maeda are great adds, and I look forward to our response (which I don't expect to come until next winter)2 points

But it um, hasn't? There's a reason the Bulls defense got worse after WCJ went down. Both sides of the court matter and Sexton isn't near the defender that WCj is and likely never will be. Also let's give MPj more than a few games before your arm gets injured patting yourself on the back about him being what you think he is.2 points

Wow i think the Twinks botched this one. Thats quite a bit for a pitcher who cant throw more than 150 innings at a 4.00 ERA clip.2 points

He's been trashing WCJ since he was a rookie last year and was the second best (some might argue the best although I won't go that far) Bulls player (by far the best defender). It's a bit odd.2 points

The correct way to do this would have been to do the baseball swinging guy with the chicago flag coloring him2 points

That literally looks EXACTLY like off brand white sox hat that you would buy at Shipshewana (or another amish flea market) LOLL2 points

I am not one to defend this FO and had been advocating these clowns to be fired for too long now. It is lost cause with JR and his son in charge so I don’t even bother these days. What I don’t get is your infatuation with Sexton and constant attempt to belittle WCJ who is a fine young player. I get that in the new age NBA you need ball handlers, and shooters to build a dynamic offense. While Sexton fits the bill, he is also terribly limited in other areas and struggles defensively not being able to defend bigger guys. It’s no coincidence he’s one of the worst defensive guards in the league for the second year in a row, while on the other hand WCJ is a top 20 defensive big across several metrics. As others have pointed out, you do notice the difference defensively after WCJ went down with injury. And this isn’t Trae Young we’re talking about, while being a smaller guard could change the game in a number of ways with elite skill sets You’re a stats guy, so I trust that you have looked past his scoring numbers and looked at advanced stats - WS VORP, PER, on/off court differentials, RPM, etc. I don’t see Sexton even being close to making the impact WCJ does. I am not into getting into a debate that Wendell’s growth has been stunted by playing for a coach who has no business coaching in the NBA and who has shown no success whatsoever drawing up a game plan for his big men on offense.1 point

Because of Kenta Maeda? I'm not overly concerned with him. He is far from a sure bet coming into the AL, and he has finished in the bullpen the past 2 seasons. He's not the massive upgrade to their team considering the pretty nice piece given up to get him. Is he an upgrade from what they had? Yes. But Donaldson is a much bigger name to fear than Maeda, IMO. Twins always were the team to beat, but I would still take the Sox rotation on potential alone for 2021+ than what the Twins currently have penciled in to their rotation.1 point

Not sure what to make of this whole scenario...but the Dodgers are significantly better at a very cheap cost. Price will have a renaissance in the NL and Dodgers are the team to beat yet again. Maybe, just maybe they finally win it all. Dodgers most likely will re-sign Betts also...so those dreams (never realistic) are over. had to edit for Moan... Twins are better, 2020 is theirs and honestly 2021 is a whole lot tougher now. This is not a great night for the White Sox.1 point

But we already traded for a RF that they want to give a chance to at a cheaper price and has 2 years of control. What are you missing?1 point
-
They also didn't have Mookie and Pederson on the roster as a spare part...but go ahead and ignore facts.1 point
-
Twins probably got better but I think this takes a WC contender in Boston out of the race. Improves our chances.1 point
-
Why do people think the Twins are only all in for this season? They have another 2 to 3 years of high level of play and money to spend.1 point

I've heard that the Dodgers wanted Bummer in return for Joc Pederson. They couldn't match up. Dodgers priorities changed.1 point

well sure but if you replaced Moncada with Holt over Leury does it really matter? Season would probably be fubar anyways. I'd like to see them keep their powder dry and if anything look to bring in more pitching.1 point

Graterol could have pitched 150 innings at a 4.00 era for the twins this year alone. This trade is so strange for them1 point

Twins are definitely all in for 2020. I think they'll likely take the division. Beyond that however I would MUCH rsther have the Sox future.1 point

Why not? Offer more for Joc than the Angels did. Mazara could’ve been moved again. As it stands now, the Sox gave up a better prospect for 2 years of Mazara than the Angels gave up for 1 year of a much better outfielder.1 point

Also didn’t realize Maeda isn’t a free agent until 2024. Twins must really believe in him and believe he can be a healthy starter. Seems like a tall order, guy always was on the injury list if my memory serves correct. I’d be upset if we traded Cease for him.1 point
-
But Pederson also may not have been as available as he was when the Sox traded for Mazara. Now hes just an extra piece and they'll probably just look to shed his salary.1 point

Make it ugly, goofy, and old fashioned as hell... like a Members Only jacket. People will really notice it then. ?1 point
