He did say, “not this week, but the following week”. I watched it, so probably Friday, 2/28.3 points

This past week the Astros had a perfect opportunity to go before the world (not just their fan base) and show some humility and apologize. They think that's what happened. I think otherwise. There was no sincerity at all in their apologies. There was no remorse coming from any of the handful that were the ringleaders there in Houston. These guys read a script-- thats all. They were coached. Some might say the only thing that They're sorry about is that they got caught. I'm not sure that's even accurate. It sounds like They're more mad they got caught then sorry. The closest thing we have to a sincere apology is from Beltran and a few of the players who are no longer with the Astros organization. No sadly, I really don't think that these players feel that they did anything wrong. It was a culture that was set up by the coaches and staff and players. And when implemented it was under an oblivious owner who still feels it had no impact on the game. So with all that being said, I'm sorry (no pun intended) Justin Verlander if you and your teammates are ready to move on and put this behind you -- because We the fans are not ready to move on. We never got a sincere "I'm sorry ". We deserve more. Each mlb club deserves more. The Dodgers deserve more. What you guys did was a disgrace to the game. Honestly when you're on the road I hope every fan base lets you hear it. I hope the media keeps asking questions about the cheating all season long. In fact, I can't wait for the Astros to come to GRF. Hopefully this year in the playoffs. (Only a 3 game set at Houston in June). I hope the Astros get agitated and impatient with what they hear and the questions that are asked. This is the bed they have made now they have to sleep in it.3 points

Wish I could have voted for all 4 I'm an optimistic guy but each guy has significant reason to believe in a big '20 Adolfo- Finally healthy, strong offseason Rutherford- Strong offseason, gained muscle, looks good in early ST Basabe- Entering the season healthy Gonzalez- Struggled at the beginning of all new levels throughout his career, has to adjust to BIR Wild we have all 4 of these lottery tickets behind Mazara who I'm also excited for Let's Go Sox2 points

I agree, but I'm not counting on it. For some reason with some players, once the injury bug bites, it keeps on biting... look at Burger. It sucks and it's not fair, but that's life. I follow the minor leagues regularly, and I panic whenever his name isn't in the box score. Amen to that.2 points

If we can take one more thing from Correa making up a BS lie about a tattoo, it’s that this is already getting to them.2 points

Good news for you. Coop changed back to 21 this season. Vaughn will wear 99 when he makes it up.2 points

You may as well get ready now for the "he's a black player so Kenny Williams loves him" bullshit. It's going to be fast and furious this year.2 points

It doesn't work like that. Your agent works on getting you paid by the position you play. Not how Jack Parkman thinks it should be done2 points

So far today "#FireManfred" and "#FireGarPax" have trended on Twitter and I think that's just great.1 point

Luis Gonzalez is a guy that I am looking forward to watching this year. I think he'll have a big 2020.1 point

I loved the report on Blake at SSHP....while it's only BP it still looks like he had good launch angle and was killing the ball. Very encouraging.1 point
-
What they're saying is that he's put on a lot of muscle and he's hitting with more power in BP. But that's just BP, so who knows?1 point

Unless he develops some launch angle power, I just don't see it with him though unfortunately1 point

Early reports this spring look positive for Rutherford. That would be huge because no Sox left-handed hitters ever seem to develop.1 point
-
That would be the dream. He has far & away the most upside of the four, but has lost so much development time. He needs a full season of at-bats to demonstrate continued improvement in his plate discipline. Plus seeing him in the field would be nice as his arm was plus plus before the TJS and it’s impossible to say where it stand today.1 point

This isn’t even comparable to the Patriots. Not necessarily because of the cheating but because of public perception. Houston has been villainized in a way that NE never was. These guys are forever tarnished. They had their opportunity to fess up and put on a good show apologizing and they failed. Now everyone wants blood and will never forgive or forget.1 point

I like you, and I respect you. But given what Denny McLain did (for example), this view is kinda horseshit. Weaver got suspended for knowing about the scam, but not reporting it; Jackson's involvement still isn't 100% clear. Are we to believe that NONE of McLains team mates knew about his gambling and (allegedly) mob-related bookkeeping activity, but didn't report it? Or Pete Rose's team mates didn't know anything about his gambling? Sorry, but MLB hasn't been as hardcore on gambling as they purport to be. Houston (and all their cheating players) did far worse with their cheating, full stop.1 point

Disclaimer: completely insane, impractical idea The players from the 29 other teams could force additional punishment by announcing their intent to refuse to travel to Houston during the 2020 season. It's not a strike - you're allowed to forfeit games by not showing up. The Astros would hemorrhage money - 81 forfeited home game "victories" with zero attendance, angry season ticket holders/luxury suite buyers demanding refunds, an apoplectic RSN with nothing to televise and total loss of ad revenue. How many weeks would it take?1 point

I feel like “local prep position player” is something they have ignored a lot recently1 point

kudos to @chitownsportsfan for the second post. I am attending this year again, March 1-3, will be at Sox @ Angels, Padres @ Sox and probably Rangers @ Rockies at Talking Stick. Staying in Scottsdale, going to hike one of the days. See you there.1 point

Look at all that equipment in the back! God it feels good that this organization is finally catching up to the times. Still not quite there yet, but it's a hell of a start.1 point

Thank goodness on the three batter rule. A small positive step for fan-kind. I despise pitchers coming in for one batter.1 point

So, Lopez was too busy fixing other pitchers problems on the mound than figuring out his own? I think we found Coop’s replacement.1 point

1 in 2009, when he came back. It’s on baseball-reference if want to look at the history. Unfortunately they only have players, not coaches numbers.1 point

Any idea how they got around doing this without players being in the MLBPA? That was always the excuse for literally the last 15 years. that they weren't allowed to. Many minor leaguers have spoken out on Twitter about this asking where their cut is for SCEA using their likeness in the game....1 point
