  1. Moncada's underwhelming Spring continues. He is not helping himself. It may turn out to be a blessing, in disguise for the front office, even if no one takes Spring Training performance very seriously. Poor performance is probably more meaningful than outstanding performance. Facing a lot of Minor League arms, can inflate a hitter's Spring stats, but not being able to excel against mediocre pitching is not a good sign, especially in that dry Arizona air, in which it's hard to get pitches to break.

  3. I said that as well the other day. If he was 6-4" he'd be a top 15 prospect. All he does is demolish baseballs. This is baseball not basketball there's no real inherent advantage in being tall. "longer levers" sure but also longer swings. Vaughn generates plenty of power.

  6. Cease was outstanding outside of a few hanging curve balls. The pen was pretty lights out too.

  9. I know TA is an aggressive hitter but I still wish he would work the count more. IMO the precise reason he should be hitting lower in the order.

  12. Why are you so concerned? The minute it was reported he tore his achilles again, you said he was done. I bet you are a very loud person.

  13. Is Delmonico better than Moncada, Robert and Anderson right now? What would it take to change your opinion?

  14. I think vaughn has a bit less power than killebrew but could be a better hitter. Killebrew is just a career 256 hitter (i.e 50 grade bat) while fangraphs has rated vaughn as a 65 grade bat (.290). Killebrew had several mid 40s homer seasons and I expect vaughn to be more a low to mid 30s guy maybe with a 40 as an exception.

  17. Jake Burger has been through hell and back. I don't understand the fat jokes. He's supposed to be a really good guy. He is a White Sox. Maybe pull for him.

  20. It would be terrific to see at least one of our minor league outfielders take a big step this year. If we could fill RF in the future with a homegrown cost controlled young talent that would be outstanding. Glad to see Gonzalez having a nice Spring.

  27. Hopefully Rickie does some hitting and running this year. He's got the squad for it. You want to put things in motion, put some pressure on the D, much preferable to hit and run then bunt imo.

  29. The White Sox's rotation is going to contain Giolito (drafted out of high school), Dylan Cease (drafted out of high school), and eventually Michael Kopech (drafted out of high school). There might be some elbow work in there, but...

  32. IKR? You're at a fucking Suns game in spring training and your son is in an ELOY JIMENEZ SHIRT and then ELOY JIMENEZ is right there? I'm not at all an athlete or celeb stan but that would be pretty fucking cool: according to that guy, it was Eloy's buddy, Aristedes Aquino of the Reds who initiated the conversation when he spotted that guy's kid wearing Eloy's jersey!

  34. I personally don't give a shit how impossible it was, good franchises figure out a way to keep a guy like Panarin. The motherfucker has 90 points in 64 games ffs. We gave him away for nothing.

  35. If the White Sox make the playoffs 4 straight years, reaching the ALCS 2x, winning 1 trophy, and then losing in 1 WC round, before either guys get too expensive or injuries and performance issues start piling up, I will consider this rebuild an unmitigated success and congratulate Rick Hahn on his adroit trades and free agent spending.

  37. I think most fans downplay how difficult rehab is; it takes away the best part about their "job" and replaces it with 12-16 months of grueling physical work and draining mental work that's reward is hopefully returning to form. To go through that process for 12 months and then have that same injury reoccur really makes you doubt yourself and the process. The mental wear and tear that it has on you is overlooked. It's why I never judge an athlete for "not coming back" when the world thinks they're ready. The last thing a player in professional sports wants to do is practice/rehab and not actually play in the games. When you're scared that the next step you take could ruin your entire career - everything you've worked towards for the past 15 years - you are stuck in a lonely place. You think about reinjuring yourself for months after rehab/repair. It's bad enough going through it once, but twice is probably mentally distructive.

  38. This doesn't mean he's given up; do you really think the Sox invited him to camp and he said thanks but no thanks? Also, do you expect him to post videos from the strenuous and lonely rehab process on his social media? I don't get the assumptions many are making; rehab is horribly lonely and depressing... even more so when you consider that this is his career on the line, and he worked his ass of (I'm sure he did) the first time only to fall victim to the same injury. This is a traumatic injury as well, and it really limits the amount of cardio and etc you can do to stay in shape. Burger may just have a body type that, regardless of his work, will be a little larger. The fear that must seep into his head when doing the most basic drills is immense. I don't know why anyone thinks they know anything about his work ethic and etc... rumors were derived from his appearance - nothing said by anyone within the organization. By all accounts, his teammates constantly post and support him on social media as well so he doesn't appear to be some lazy asshat whose teammates hate him.
