I’m just confused what exactly they expected? How many dudes tested positive on intake and during Summer Camp? 70 some? Maybe more. Almost every team had at least one. Around 5% of those who reported test positive. Obviously the Marlins outbreak is new, but other than that it’s been pretty small #s. I mean - everyone knew this would happen. If the plan was to panic cancel games and destroy the schedule less than a week in, why even bother? And why did no one feel like they had to shut everything down everytime a dude tested positive in summer camp? whole this is puzzling to me.3 points

On a related note, I purchased one of those mystery signed baseballs from a table the Sox wives had set up at a home game last year. I had to hold my lack of enthusiasm in front of the ladies when I opened up the box and saw the Kelvin Herrera signature. I actually ended up leaving the ball on my seat at the end of the game. Oh, well it was for charity.3 points

The culture on both sides which distracts from addressing, let alone fixing, what is actually wrong with the country is what's really ruining it...that abundant hyper-partisanship on progressive and conservative extremes of the spectrum.3 points

This felt nearly must-win. A win tomorrow would really take the bad taste out of our mouths from those first two series.2 points

We know helping a professional pitcher improve is hard for Cooper, so it's not surprise that wearing a mask properly is difficult for him as well2 points

Why? His footwork sucks, doesn’t have soft hands and his throwing arm isn’t accurate.2 points

There comes a point where I think we can all forget about Anderson ever being "good" defensively. He's been in the MLB now for a few years. He is what he is2 points

Even if all the kids and counselors fully healed with no issues - the question is bigger than that - how many did those 260 who were infected go on to infect, cause the deaths of those individuals count too. And it is beyond deaths - the more this happens the more we just drag out this entire massive slowdown in the economy. Oh and how many of those people infected also end up with longer term health conditions - that are not just a drag on that individual but drive up overall health costs, etc.2 points

It is the perfect microcosm of modern America. We COULD have fixed this, but we weren't willing to do the minimum needed to fix it.2 points

His competitiveness showing is certainly one way of interpreting it. They also shouldn't be shaking fucking hands.2 points

The Players Association signed off on an agreement saying the players would not do stuff we've seen them doing, and the players association didn't want penalties for players violating those rules. I bash the owners as much as anyone, but this was a negotiated agreement that the players aren't living up to. If we saw everyone wearing masks, no high 5s, the Astros staying in their dugout, people using the stands for social distancing, etc, and people were still getting sick, then we could blame the policies for being too weak. The players are consistently, on camera, ignoring those rules.2 points

Still not a good enough reason in this case. Major league games are 9 innings until they can’t be because of weather. If they’re there to play, just play it out. It’s a bad rule. The man on 2nd rule, pitchers facing 3 batters, and the 7 inning doubleheader games are dumb. So is expanded playoffs. Everything else, I have no problem, like keeping travel regional.2 points
