You make no sense. Calling people dolts without even looking at the facts. 28 man rosters this year if you don’t remember. Many pitchers haven’t pitched in days. You are either Rick Hahn’s burner or a legit water carrying homer. The type of fan that is accustomed to mediocrity.5 points

Bullpen game does not mean we should be trying to lose. Only 60 games this year4 points

I know you hate him but this is the dumbest thing to get angry about.4 points

Ricky seems like a good guy and if he ends up as a “special assistant “ to Hahn I’m okay w that. But today broke me w Ricky. Detwiler should have been in there in the 4th to face their heart of theIr order. How in the hell could you think Anderson was ready to throw 4 or 5 innings? It is sadly delusional. I like Ricky, I’d have a beer w Ricky, but he ain’t the long term answer. Neither is Ozzie. It it’s an internal hire go w Jirshcele.3 points

Anderson is someone you save for extra innings, not someone you actually rely on. Ricky punted this game, plain and simple.3 points

Give me a break. He’s the worst player on the roster and you tried to get greedy with a second inning against top of the order. They have enough guys to get 6 innings from the actual competent relievers. That’s two out of last four games that Ricky completely blew in terms of managing bullpen.3 points

Mendick lays off the junk and gets a pitch in the zone. It’s not rocket science3 points

How many times have we heard this already? This is just the BSOHL story for Eloy (and Tim) and I am at the same point for both of them - they can talk all they want but I won't believe it until I see it now3 points

When I saw Renteria opted, I hoped the next word was out.3 points

You seem like a nice guy, but I really hate how often you have had to be posting so far this season ?3 points

It looked like he was grabbing his elbow. Thanks for this. I feel better. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to turn my engine off and open the garage door.3 points

The number one sign of poor leadership is an inability to deviate from a flawed plan.2 points

Pretty obvious Ricky and Cooper had a set schedule of Foster for 2, Anderson for 2. The plan was flawed before game even started.2 points

Need to take Cisheck out to pasture. He’s completely toast.2 points

But clearly Drew Anderson was the BEST option. Okay. Sure. Not a great amount of movement on his pitches, but 97-99 will work just fine if it's well located.2 points

Ricky is showing no urgency, it’s just insane. At least it’s nice to see people blasting him today.2 points

Yes, one has pitched very well this year. The other has no business being in the majors. If Detwiler got roughed up, we blame him. When it’s a guy that shouldn’t be out there, that is on the manager. It’s the same freaking thing with Gio facing a lineup for the 3rd time.2 points

and drew Anderson is on the team and needs to pitch. You understand the same relievers can't throw everyday right? Guys are getting hurt and all you dolts want the manager to use the same guys everyday. So much ignorance.2 points

We love to watch Ray Ray run out of game threads if this is going to be the canned response of defending the manager when everyone called the big inning before it even happened. I know I did. Have you ever watched Anderson pitch in the spring, at least? You're telling me they had NO OTHER CHOICE BUT to throw Anderson out there for a second inning of work? Against their 4 best hitters? C'mon. You're better than that, man.2 points

Why are we letting worst player on the roster let this game get out of hand? Ricky is simply a terrible manager.2 points

great job by foster, he should be used as the opener rest of the way.2 points

This. Moncada himself said he does not like leading off. That's one of my biggest gripes with Renteria. Obviously guys will do what's best for the team, but listen to your guys.2 points

We renegotiated Leury’s contract in the spring to include an option for 2021. He will definitely be our super utility guy for another year.2 points

I would love to see the expect run totals done on a study like this. If the guy can get a bunt down, it is a near 100% chance of a hit, putting 1st and 2nd with no outs and the AL defending RBI leader coming to the plate, and the rest of the middle of the order to follow. That has to be worth more than a whatever percentage chance of a home run when it comes to run expectations in an inning.2 points

I know we disagree sometimes and occasionally things get heated, but I am so grateful for this message board. A group of people come together for 1 common cause and that's to see the Sox win. I an grateful for the admins and creators who keep this site up & free for us to use. Once again, I know some of us dislike one another but I think deep down there's a ton of respect for each other, and I can't wait for another Sox championship in the future and to discuss it all the way until the final pitch with you all. Cheers.1 point

If we are being completely honest, he deserves to start in RF everyday right now. The other guys aren't hitting and can't play defense.1 point

Adam Engel deserves a lot of credit. He has made himself into a useful player. Clearly has lots of value defensively and overhauled his swing (short and compact now) to the point where he can actually contribute offensively a bit. Not saying he’s an Allstar or even an everyday player, but he’s not a black hole and he clearly deserves to be on a major league roster1 point

Yo, Leila Rahimi got fired?? She was the best In the studio for pre/ post game. Chuck is burnt toast in comparison. He’s a nice guy and all, but I personally find his act annoying and old. Come on Jerry, you cheap fuck. I’m sure her salary wasn’t going to drain your money bags. Should have just let Kaplan go to Marquee, let him. Hope Leila lands a gig. Now we get ducking Chuck everyday, good fucking lord. Someone with way more soxtalk skills than I will ever have please do a poll between Leila and Our Chuck.1 point

Not a fan of posting for these reasons either. I prefer to be betting yelled at for saying the owners have valid concerns or keuchal is the best FA option for the Sox. ?1 point

I didnt see it but if it's a bicep issue near the elbow, not too big of a deal. If it's at the shoulder end, its potentially an issue.1 point

I was going to say that too. And has been pretty vocal about how he’s adjusting as he learns the analytics in spring training.1 point

In the end, he's going to be judged primarily on Giolito, Kopech, Lopez and Cease. Rodon's pretty much a lost cause, not much a pitching coach can do there. The bullpen performance is so hit-and-miss from year to year, you just hope you have an above average or above pen 2 out of every 3 years. It's also a bit ironic that the "leaders" of that pen were supposed to be guys like Burdi, Hamilton, Tyler Johnson, McClure, Burr, etc. They've managed to work around a number of setbacks on that front, much like the 2012 bullpen. As you might remember, all those rookies and castoffs really struggled (minus Sale/Q) the following year.1 point

I found Ranger to be fairly condescending far too often. He got a pass because of all the meatheads on the post game show, but he was no different when he started posting here as well. Some fanboys here kissed his tail too, making him even more insufferable.1 point
