I just told my oldest kid that Bernardo is basically Cyclops and if he takes off his glasses he’d shoot lasers out of his eyes. Not sure if that’s true or not, but suddenly my son is a Sox fan and not a Cubs fan like his mother tries to make him.5 points

Rick Hahn laughing and laughing, because not only are the White Sox awesome, they’re basically all signed.5 points

Ideally none of this happens. Everything right now would be better even if you are coming out ahead of others. That said, crucial point: If 2019 was 2020 Luis Robert would still just be an oft-injured ball of potential with little results. Players like mendick would be crushed by losing a year, already older. Our bullpen guys would barely be above high-A. Wed have been set a year behind easily. id argue (and have) we also had great timing in our rebuild launch, sending out our cost controlled top talent at a time when the top teams in the mlb had the best farms and were ready to go for it. Any full season this team May run out of steam, instead we maybe get a jump start in our window with our team getting playoff experience. Its small, but it’s a bit of enjoyment in this time.3 points

Stuff it. This franchise hasn't made the playoffs in 12 years and hasn't been close in 8. This team is loaded with guys who have never made a post-season. You celebrate. You celebrate like this is the start of something big and enjoy every minute of it. If you win the division, you celebrate again. These guys damned well should be living it up and proud of their accomplishments. Hell I know I will have a bottle of champagne ready to go.3 points

IF the forecast is accurate, tonight could be a rain out. That could be beneficial for the Sox, with a 7 inning DH tomorrow, and only having to cover 14 innings on the mound.3 points

Hawk used to say, and I absolutely believed it to be true: “You are guaranteed to win 54, you are guaranteed to lose 54, no matter what. It’s what you do with the other 54 that matters.”. In latter years he’d bump up the guaranteed wins and losses to 60 each, but the concept still remained. More importantly, what he was trying to describe what was what defined a winning ball club from a losing one, which would be how they’d fare in a game like ours tonight. Our ballclub from the last decade would have found a way to lose tonight’s game. Winning ball clubs figure out a way to win a game like this tonight. This club found a way to win this game, which should give us all profound hope about the next several years with this team. And yes, all this coming from the guy most critical of Jerry Reinsdorf. He’s still the worst.3 points

Mendick should be in for Anderson. Sanchez should be in for Moncada. Dyson should be in for Jimenez. There's really no reason why they aren't.2 points

I don't recall a WS player improving at the mental side of hitting by such leaps and bounds over the space of a couple years. It's a staggering improvement, really impressive. He's just a delight to watch every time up.2 points

Super critical of the mistake that led to the first single. Also talked about how he always gets to two strikes and then nibbles until he walks the guy and thats what gets him in trouble. Also a lot of passive aggresive tones on statements like "well let's see if he can get hit the spot here" verrrrry clearly implying he does not, in fact, think he will hit the spot here. I don't disagree with Stone on any of it, just shocked how forward he is being.2 points

Nope, sorry. This is why no team that has celebrated a division win has ever won a world series. That's just a fact. In fact, I don't think we should even celebrate a world series win this year. We've all talked about how, if everything goes right, we might have a shot at a dynasty. Why give up any chance of that by celebrating after just one ring?2 points

If you want to be a smart ass, you might want to check your facts. The 8th seed in the AL this year has a record of 24-21. The 6 seed has a record of 22-23. Thanks for playing.2 points

You got to go with Giolito with as your #1 even if he can be a little inconsistent. The reality is this team is going to need a mix of luck and some hot streaks in order to go the distance and Lucas has the potential to dominate games unlike Dallas. We need the ball in Giolito’s hands as much as possible come October and that means slotting him in the #1 spot.2 points

Yes I agree. I feel Like I know this team well enough to know that they won’t knock Cease back in the rotation. He has been very lucky this year.2 points

No reason for me to take this win for granted. This was a special win. Eloy really came through. It's special to beat a guy who had a no hitter through five. Giolito did a nice job. After all those losses for so many years against the Central, it's tremendous to kick butt. Twins may have Sox number, but who cares right now? Sox won a game in which they got three hits. Great victory. Eloy's home run was epic.2 points

Need to see Dunning against a team that’s not the Tigers or Royals. Not a knock on him as both teams are hard outs but if he can do well against The Twins/Indians/Cubs then that’s when the convo should heat up2 points

I've been as harsh on him as anybody and his mental state is obviously not great but if I was going up there with his stuff I'd look scared too. It's not simply that he's a headcase with talent -- there's no talent. Pitcher true talent level changes rapidly in today's training environments. If you don't put in the work in the pitching labs in the offseason, or even if you do but aren't able to harness the instruction and take it to gameday, you're not gonna survive. His true talent right now is AAAA guy. He should probably just have been waived and traded for a PTBNL or cash before he gets non tendered and is lost for nothing this offseason. He's not even going to be worth the 1.5-2 million he'll get in arb.2 points
