  4. Sox fans: Jerry's stupid loyalty to former players is hurting the team. Also Sox fans: Hire every ex player/coach that has a history with the franchise.

  5. The White Sox make the playoffs for the first time in 12 years, and fire their manager for the first time in 17, and their pitching coach for the first time in longer than that. Who could ever have thought of this being a possibility? This is the same owner than wanted to keep Jim Boylen around. Ozzie didn't get fired. Robin didn't get fired. This is probably one of the most remarkable days in White Sox history.

  8. I want everyone who is voting "absolute deal breaker. will not follow the team if he is hired" to name themselves in this thread and actually leave the board when he's hired in a couple of weeks. Thanks.

  9. I don't cheer for Dallas either. Fuck em both.

  10. Boo hoo. You don't think anybody deserves a 2nd chance? Should we stray away from any player who has been caught roiding as well? That's a poor way to construct a club. You limit yourself too much. People make mistakes and they learn. You hire Hinch if he is the best candidate out there, no question.

  11. First order of whatever new manager Sox hire should be to demand the reinstatement of the thunderstruck pregame video. This crime against humanity has gone on long enough.

  12. If you're firing Renteria over the bullpen management, Cooper needed to go too.

  13. Following historic trends, I present to you your new White Sox Manager......Gordon Beckham!

  14. Fuck AJ Hinch. He was a laughing stock at Arizona then he gets handed a stacked team with an intricate system of cheating and he's considered a great manager. Get the fuck out of here.

  18. I care but I don't think I care enough for it to bother me if he's the best man for the job, I just want a good manager and for the Sox to win a lot of games.

  19. You'd think all the people concerned about integrity would have stopped watching before this season considered we signed Dallas Keuchel.

  20. I can't believe you still have hurt feelings over needing to be told that posting the word poop over and over and over and over again isn't something people want to see on a message board.

  25. I said this in the last week of the season...the losing streak at the end of the season was a silver lining. It showed the FO just how bad of a manager Ricky was and we still made the playoffs to get that experience for our young guys. In the long run, it was a blessing in disguise. Now we'll be able to re-do our coaching staff and create a new way of thinking going forward.

  27. I never constantly felt the need to defend anyone. He managed game 3 badly and is paying the price. Ricky being fired is fine. He wasn't the reason the sox didn't win, and he did a nice job with the young guys, but the sox didn't think he gave them the best chance to win in the big spot. they would know that better than anyone given that they know the directives he was given. The insinuation that because I hold the players at majority fault 99.9% for failures means I endlessly supported renteria is nonsense. This boards never ending negativity in game threads wasnt rational or reasonable because he got fired. It was still overreactive nonsense where people blamed the manager for damn near 50% of the losses.

  28. I feel legit terrible for Ricky. I wanted him gone but imagine how devastated he must be that this happened again. Two weeks before the season ended, Hahn said Rick deserved to be here enjoying the success. Rick literally lost his job because of the last 13 games of this season. This being said, if you want to be a champion, you cannot have this kind of managing going on. We need to go get a real winner and not some wannabe.

  35. Good: Crotchet 100% healthy Ricky is being fired ”Team will be aggressive coming off playoff appearance” Bad: Crotchet needs TJS Ricky is being extended ”Team will need to be conservative in wake of COVID”

  37. Reading the comments and thinking about this, I think this is right. Why fire a guy making rookie mistakes in the playoffs, only to bring in a person with less experience? You almost have to be looking at a veteran, otherwise, why fire Ricky?

  38. I don't know about Sandy. We NEED a guy that has been there before to be honest. Our talent speaks for itself, so we just need a manager that can relate to our guys and make smart in game decisions.
