He should leave a flaming bag of shit on Ricky's porch for ruining his arm.6 points

For those of you into White Sox memorabilia or art, there is a great website called Painted by Tom that offers a ton of cool custom made prints at pretty reasonable prices. I’ve got a wall at my house that currently houses four of these prints and I absolutely love them. Below is a link to both the website and Tom’s Twitter account. Also, here is a pic of a recently released Luis Robert print to give you a sense of what I’m talking about. https://www.paintedbytom.com/mlbart https://mobile.twitter.com/tom_paints?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author3 points

Yep walked off with the trainer. Losing him for a few weeks would suck considering all the LHP they start off with.2 points

They are right now, a worse team today than they were at the end of a mediocre 8-8 season. They are not done cutting salary, so look for Akiem Hicks to be the next cap casualty. They will have an aging defense that lost two of their more productive players off the defense. They still only have 1 starting caliber skill position player on offense. Even if you believe in the interior of the O-line, there is not a starting caliber tackle (on either side) in this roster. And even if the $10MM man at QB surprises us, at 33 years old, how much does Dalton really have left? (And why did they have to pay $10MM? Who did they have to out-bid for him?) In sum, they should have fired everyone, and blown this thing up instead of bringing Pace and Nagy back. To your point, I believe that every day Pace and Nagy are here will only lengthen the time before this thing can get turned around. IOW, their mere presence IS causing long-term damage to this organization.1 point

Strained right Hamstring, being evaluated tomorrow.1 point

Hope he’s okay. If he misses time, I bet the AB’s go to Leury.1 point

Not only that, but speed and defense is such a big part of his game. Just hope it’s not a ligament/meniscus tear. Sorry about GaTech, Pastner saved his job somehow. Btw, any good rumors on where Marcus Carr and Jamal Mashburn, Jr., are headed? Is he prevented from a B10 transfer? Finally, how did everyone fall asleep on the Pac Ten?1 point

Looks like Engel hyperextended his left knee. Could open up the door for Hamilton.1 point

His slider is much more consistent. He enough control issues with his fastball. He doesn't need to complicate it with the poor control of the curveball.1 point

Just my opinion but I think we see Moncada scratch the surface of his ceiling this year. He's figured out how to balance patience and being aggressive on hitter's pitches early in the count. Would not surprise me at all if his OBP approaches or exceeds .400 this year.1 point

Do you think it's because he's working the curve back in?1 point

Yeah, that's probably the best option. Collins deserves a shot either way, and if he doesn't make the team I think that he'll get traded to Pittsburgh, Texas or another team just beginning a rebuild.1 point

I'm terrible at assessing changes that hitters make, but Collins looks incredible this spring.1 point

Hello, exactly. But you should explain this to the one I replied to, who believed Detwiler was "pretty darn good", yet "He Who "Must Be" Blamed For Anything/Everything" wouldn't use him. The lack of understanding of the extent of a front office's involvement in overall playing decisions by certain posters (not you) is baffling.1 point

The Madrigal one I agree with, he’s taken way too much heat around here. I feel like most are pulling for Collins? And Eaton...I don’t know. In terms of Lopez and Rodon being “on deck”....they both have been fairly terrible in their White Sox careers...especially when you consider where Rodon was drafted.1 point

Personally I think all of the owners should be cut the fuck out, the federal government should operate the league, the cities run the teams, and all the player salary money goes into a pool and is split up at the end of the year based upon the actual on-field statistical performance according to formula, with a high minimum salary going to everyone. There's a lot wrong with the way players are paid. The first thing wrong with the system is that owners get anything at all. The second thing wrong with the system is that the players are indentured servants for what is likely to be their most productive years. Most players who are good enough to play at the MLB level aren't even going to reach FA through the arb process normally: they'll hit FA after getting cut first. The third thing wrong is that players who aren't good anymore like Adam Dunn as an excellent example or Chris Davis now, who aren't even MLB level anymore, still keep getting all of this big money from the system that doesn't go to the players who are actually producing. There's too much to actually fix within the context of MLB. It'll never actually be a fair system for the players and especially it will never be a fair system for the public and the tax payers.1 point

He had 14 outings in September. If he pitched that much every month, that would be an 84 appearance year. No pitcher has appeared in 84 games since 2011.1 point

Engel turned over a new leaf last season, I fear he'll sit 5-6 times a week because of La Russa's love of Eaton. Engel was strong against overall and righties (.837 OPS / .811 overall) last season. Small sample, but he looked comfortable at the plate, and with regular at bats could continue to do well. I hope he keeps lighting it up this Spring. Moncada is healthy, I have no concerns with him. Abreu should be solid since he appears recovered from COVID. TA continues to improve each year. The primary concern I have is regression, age / injuries to the four high priced veterans, and the ability for the dozen or so rookies to survive and thrive during their first full season in the MLBs. Can Robert, Vaughn, Madrigal and Eloy get acclimated to a full season and keep production up to potential? Can the first three adjust to the adjustments made against them as the league takes note of their tendancies? Can the relatively young bullpen guys pitch well and stay healthy over their first full seasons (Foster, Heuer, Marshall, Bummer), and will Hendriks regress? The White Sox have thin depth at nearly every position with any injuries. I think 2022 is more logical in terms of legitimate contention, based on the inevitable growing pains many rookies will experience during their first full season. They really need Kopech to be able to start next season, and Crochet to start half a season. If they are banished to the bullpen because Jerry and Tony don't have much more time above ground, than the "Multiple Championship Window" becomes a fast sprint, with no starting depth beyond fickle high priced old free agents.1 point

First Ohio State loses and now Purude. They should have had the Big Ten teams all play in Bloomington. They're used to winning there.1 point

Love the optimism. IF they stay healthy and win 65-70% of their division games, I think 95-97 is obtainable. Health is crucial though.1 point
