With that in mind, the Yankees lineup doesn't look so hot if Stanton and Judge are struggling with injuries and not knowing exactly what to expect from Torres, Voit and LeMahieu.5 points

Oh man, Benetti asking TA if he's ever played catcher on the broadcast interview. Which one of you monsters paid Benetti to ask that? He's. Not. A. Catcher. ?4 points

Just got an email from the county health department to schedule an appointment. Set for my first shot next week.4 points

An ad for porkless, veggie "pork" rinds? Is that what you've googled recently? I admire your willingness to provide some inside info Pal, but I lost a little respect based on that ad.3 points

Its unlikely he can outlast aging curves beyond his current deal. And even if he is kept by JR for emotional reasons, that doesn't mean he will be getting consistent ABs....esp with Eloy and Vaughn in their primes.3 points

How are people convincing themselves that the Sox should trade depth away on a team that desperately lacks depth everywhere else. This is crazy talk about moving Vaughn or Eloy.3 points

Vaughn was the best player available. Blows my mind that people still don’t see he has the highest upside at the plate of any Sox batter3 points

FWIW, the virus itself could lay you out for a lot longer than 3 days and has been known to cause lasting symptoms in a lot of people. Alll the vaccines have been proven to be 100% effective at preventing hospitalization and death. Get the shot as soon as you can.3 points

This is why the Cubs ended up with nothing for Schwarber... Eloy's the better hitter, but not going to fetch a premium pitching prospect. His market is already pretty much limited to the DH role in AL unless they know it will change in next CBA. What would White Sox fans give up for Yordan Alvarez, for example? Let's see some names that would be realistic, not the 3-5 player package of 40-45 FV extraneous minor leaguers. Keep in mind you're already committed to that long-term extension with Eloy.2 points

Where is the option to trade him and all that he promises to be for as big of a haul as possible. The guy is clearly an idiot and doesn't learn his lesson out there. I know how promising his bat looks, but I'd trade him at the deadline (assuming he's not injured) for a dominant starter on a short term contract and some low level high upside lottery tickets.2 points
-
Very good. Once he comes in, he can spend 2022 in the minors, and start in LF in 2023. By that time, Vaughn will be at 1B and Eloy can be the DH. Plus a good LH bat with reported 55 hit and 60 power is great.2 points

One of the clumsiest professional athletes you will ever see. Again internal Chicago scouting appears lacking. He's not a LF. If he is a LF, you give him VERY SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS on what and what not to do out there. I've said it many times he doesn't hit nearly well enough to get away with being -10 runs in LF. He certainly doesn't help his cause doing dumbass shit like trying to rob a homer in spring training while simultainely quitting on plays into the netting when the games count. Just get him anchored to a spot in LF or make him a DH. It's going to ruin his career if they don't. Who is running the show here? This is something you'd expect to get straightened out if it's go time and TLR is the manager.2 points

Oh my God we overreact on this board. First of all, we don’t know how badly he is hurt. Also, he’s our left fielder. Just because people exaggerate how bad he is doesn’t mean he should DH. Is he below average, yes; so is Anderson at short. Are we gonna DH Anderson too. The Sox have a powerful lineup because we have a great bat in left field. It’s relatively easy to get a good bat at DH; the Sox have one ready to take over right now. The trick is the great bat in left field. But the Sox have one there and they’ll keep one there and ignore fan forums that always , always overreact.2 points

Eloy is a much better athlete than vaughn. He is a bad outfielder but his sprint speed is actually above average if you look at statcast.2 points
-
The guy is a DH and the sooner this organization realizes that, it will go a long way to saving his career. If Eloy was Roberto Clemente, he would still be playing for the Cubs. We traded a career.500 pitcher for Eloy and Cease. I'd do that trade for days.2 points

Then you trade Vaughn and Crochet for someone who is otherwise ungettable and fill in the LF spot with a tolerable FA.2 points

Maybe not the worst, but definitely the dumbest and clumsiest. Also I like Vaughn but this is 100 pct why I wanted him traded for Burnes.2 points

So much for top 3 lineup in baseball.? this is why Sox should’ve invested in another bat. No room my ass2 points

I disagree. The guy doesn't know his personnel. At some point, you pound your fist, say we need an OL a lot more than we need Robert Quinn. He was hired in large part because he really liked Mitch. Maybe Mitch was going to suck no matter what. But he never wavered until this year and he is the reason Foles is on the roster. Foles was a waste of not just money, but a draft pick as well. His offense is not good. Seems like a nice guy, but IMO, the guy is an assistant coach. A guy who really knew what he was doing would make it clear to Ryan Pace he isn't the smartest guy in the room. It is really appalling George McCaskey is wasting another year with these clowns.2 points

This would be my lineup too. Anderson is the table setter for the whole offense. Has great speed. Will continue to get better. Moncada is #2 so you don't need any kind of platoon, and no reliever will gain an advantage. Abreu is the MVP. Jimenez is the heir apparent to Abreu's role. Bats behind him in case Abreu is out or walks. Grandal is the second lefty/switch hitter. High on base percentage. Vaughn/Collins. Vaughn will also be a high OBP guy, with less power and speed than Robert, which is why I put him here. Robert. At some point he'll have to move up. But for now, I like his HR power cleaning up the high OBP guys ahead, and his speed ahead of the two guys with the least power on the team. I expect LaRussa to use the speed of Robert, Eaton/Engel, Madrigal, and Anderson to disrupt pitchers. Eaton/Engel. With Madrigal it's like a second lead-off group to bring the order around to Anderson. Madrigal. He's not easy to get out. Can hit-and-run with Eaton or Engel. Having the 4 fastest players grouped together gives the White Sox another dimension other than just slugging teams to death. LaRussa will use this as a weapon2 points

probably Hamilton's last chance at making an impression. He may get the spot by default with Engel out, but he still can't hit at all. This is opening day lineup just without Eaton. I really think Moncada needs to move to the the 2 spot though. Robert is still chasing Waaaay too much and having a 300 OBP for your most crucial batting spot isn't gonna cut it.1 point

I really wish the Sox would offer Giolito the same amount of money they offered Wheeler right now. Gio is a a younger, better pitcher than Wheeler. Break it down this way: 2022: 13M 2023: 22 M 2024-26: 30M Total: 5 years $125M.1 point

Got my first Pfizer shot yesterday, no side affects at all. Not even a sore arm. Get your vaccines as soon as your eligible. If your down for a day or two that’s nothing compared to actually getting the virus, and the quicker we can get people vaccinated the more we slow down the mutations. So yes, do it for yourself, but do it for others as well.1 point

What the heck are you talking about? His arm swing was too long, he was throwing across his body, and had no consistent delivery. He was like a different guy every time he took the mound. Sometimes it was two-seamers and sliders. Sometimes 4 seamers and a loopy curve. I have always been a fan, but even at Charlotte, he was a mess.1 point

It really didn't have to be this way. Given the truly reasonable prices on FA innings-eaters, its laughable that the plan was to "wish and hope" that 2 of Cease/Rodon/Lopez stop walking the fucking yard every 5th day. For less than what they paid to Kelvin Herrera, the SOX could have signed Q, Jake Arrieta, or Chris Archer. For slightly more, they could have signed Odorizzi or Smyly. In other words, they could have plopped ~150 to 180 IP of ~3.7-ish to ~4-ish FIP smack dab in the middle of the rotation. This would then cause another youngster [Cease or Rodon] to be used as additional SP depth, instead of having, like ZERO SP depth.1 point

I can't like, imagine how good it will feel to sit in a seat at the park and hear crowd noise and the crack of the bat again. That is such a distinct, big atmosphere and there is nothing remotely like that feeling for the last year or so.1 point

Actually looking forward to Godzilla vs. King Kong. The human action, shockingly...was pedestrian, but the action sequences really make up for it. One of those movies you score 3 1/2 out of 5, but entertaining and so much better than the last Godzilla reboot.1 point

Wow. Last year was the first time since 2013 Sal managed to reach a .300 obp. Obviously catching is the main thing with a catcher, but he really cashed in on 60 games there1 point
