I am a briefs wearing man... well this particular day I was wearing boxers. As we all know, those allow for far more movement within the underwear.. While loading the dishwasher I shut the door, quickly and strongly, to ensure a clean lock of the dishwasher door to prevent any potential bubble leakage from my extra bubbly Cascade pods. Being a briefs wearing man, I miscalculated the amount of hang there would be within my boxers. The dishwasher shut mightily, and I screamed even more mightily as my loins had been caught in the shutting dishwasher door. A day which will live in infamy.8 points

All the hand wringing about Moncada and he's the only player not named Mercedes in the top 20 position players in fWAR. Dude's been a stud lately.7 points

I’m way more pissed at the manager than the loss. He’s just making so many bad decisions.4 points

With how much he adjusts his cup, Tim better hope he never wears boxers in front of a dish washer.4 points

Grow up. First, I'm not playing the game, my "attitude" doesn't matter, and neither does yours. Second, it's a 162-game season. We'll lose dozens of games even under the best of circumstances. I hope we win, but this is a bad pitching matchup and one of those games where a loss would not be a huge deal -- which is certainly a healthier and more realistic "attitude" than whining and crying after every loss like most in the game threads. Third, it's "worst."4 points

This is amazing. Larussa mismanages the guy, doesn't give him consistent Ab's, plays nick Williams over him and despite that some people want to give him credit for Vaughns success and not the fact that Vaughn has hit and would hit if he was just given a chance too. This place is too damn funny sometimes. Imaging giving a young player with a polished bat who was born in rake towns success to a geezer who refused to play him over a guy who isn't even on the team anymore.4 points

This is the problem I have being older and walking slowly. Vaughn starts slowly. LaRussa takes him out of the lineup on occasion. I agree because of various reasons I lay out in a reflective non hating on Vaughn type of way. Getting some favorable matchups could help him gain confidence,he doesn't have to be out there every day ,he's had so little minor league experience, it's a huge jump he's making etc. But all that gets ignored and all of a sudden I'm the Nick Williams lover and Vaughn hater who says Vaughn can't hit righties. Every time Vaughn isn't playing it's non stop venom being spit in the game threads. "Vaughn is playing great now why isn't he playing "? in like 10 posts in a row. Finally, I said has anyone stopped to think that he might be playing better now because LaRussa plays him in games he views as favorable matchups (almost all lefties and some finesse type righties) for Vaughn so he could gain confidence instead of running him out there against righties with nasty sliders and overwhelming heat ? No critical thinking at all just misdirected anger at LaRussa and anyone who thinks he's making the right call with an inexperienced young hitter and left fielder. Every time Vaughn now gets a hit it's like " I was told he couldn't hit righties" or "maybe Nick Williams should ve played today ." I think LaRussa put Vaughn in a position to succeed and it's working.4 points

Leury is not good. What he did yesterday means nothing. Certainly not more than his entire career and this year and beyond. You took out a plus hitter who has been hitting everything he makes contact with hard, for Leury Garcia. It's just a damn joke at this point.3 points

Good news is that Jack has just put Lucas back in the rotation and took dallas out, so gio no longer needs to go to the bullpen.3 points

Lol you wrote a 3 paragraph analysis of how you were right and everyone who disagreed with you and mastermind LaRussa was wrong, I responded with one sentence about your unwillingness to admit you were wrong about Vaughn not being ready (which was your initial argument regarding this entire ordeal), and somehow my post was the arrogant one. ? Again, this place is hilarious sometimes.3 points

We have the second best run differential in MLB, the 4th best record in the AL, and have won 8 of our last 10. We still haven’t been playing as good as we can play. Time to take a chill pill?3 points

There are four good teams in this division. The other three orgs are better run and managed. This team has great SP's with a spotty bullpen, hitting and defense. Good luck.3 points

Trubisky? Just quit posting in this thread. This is the exact opposite of Trubisky. Trubisky was a bench guy who only started 1 year for UNC and wasnt even that good. Joe Burrow couldnt beat out Fields and transferred to LSU because he was going to be the back up. That guy was picked #1 overall last year. Fields beat Lawrence straight up this year. And Lawrence forced everyone to pick him 1 but there is an argument Fields easily was the 2nd best QB prospect, you are talking about a player who delivered at an elite level and is deserving of being selected this high. If anything Wilson and Lance are the shiny new Trubiskys and Fields is Watson.3 points

What a dumb fucking thing for Stone to say. As bad as Grandal has been at times Collins hasn't proven anything either and is almost certainly a career backup catcher.2 points

This is a good post. Another thing about the bar room analogy is these sports bar arguments do have a tendency to get heated and erupt into violence occasionally , it happens at the ballpark too once in a while especially during Sox-Cubs games. @fathom is a great poster. Very witty, doesn't carry on protracted arguing, gives props to other others right in the thread or in a pm. He posts in a non combative manner , not this shoot from the hip, i can hide behind my keyboard style. He posts maturely.2 points

Every year someone new and shiny, to be reminded of in pertinent topic threads like "White Sox Game Thread", "White Sox winner thread", and if we are lucky "Covid 19 thread". Has Buxton been anointed the best center fielder in the history of the game yet, because you know shit gets real when that happens2 points

Honestly, he has more value than Eloy now. I think his bat will be right there with Eloy when all is said and done, and he is a better defender with more versatility than Eloy.2 points

You complained endlessly about the Sox moving Moncada from 2nd to 3rd base, said the process was broken, said they were a fool to move Moncada to third, even moreso to open up a spot for "bum Madrigal" and that the Sox have no idea how to internally evaluate their own players so the move would blow up in their face. Not going to bump those, but where I give you big time credit is you maintained that Moncada would hit and rake regardless of his struggles and that he would have up and downs but he'd be a stud (this was back when he was abysmal) in the long run and there was never anything to worry about.2 points

OK, fine: mini-Sox 150, Indians 0. Everybody hits 1.000 for the rest of the season (anything less is conceding defeat in some of our at-bats before the even happen: loser mentality.) Now let my attitude be the shining beacon that leads the team to the promised land!2 points

I agree CaliSoxman. In fact, Tony has made a lot of good decisions and a few bad decisions, like every Manager. Meanwhile look at what other Managers and their teams have been doing around the league. How about AJ Hinch challenging Madrigal's single while trailing 11-0? Senior-type moment? Beyond that, the Tigers do not look like they even want to be on the field...not motivated and lacking concentration. Errors everywhere. How about Cubman Ross managing a last place club with a lot of premier talent who have looked terrible and depressed their fan base? If the Sox go into an extended drought, JR might think about asking Ozzie to be LaRussa's bench coach for 2021 with the tacit understanding that he takes over as Manager in 2022. As it stand now though, LaRussa has the team motivated and winning. The player look like they are into it. None of them have expressed the kind of ill will toward Tony that Cub fans and other disgruntled haters have. The mindless criticism of Tony strikes me as bizarre. I have never seen anything quite like it save for Harry Carey in his White Sox career before the Cub organization put a muzzle on him. Bennetti has now started to question some of Tony's decisions in real time and that has not always been done respectfully. LaRussa vs Bennettti may develop into a thing if he keeps it up and JR will be the final arbiter of that.2 points

If Gen z supposedly have no critical thinking skills, then you boomers are incapable of just admitting you were wrong lol. The handling of Vaughn has been atrocious. It's OK to just admit that and move on.2 points

Love this team. 16 of our next 18 games are against the ALCentral - 7 against KC and 6 against Minny. If the Sox keep it up they have a great opportunity to really establish themselves as the top dawg.2 points
