Hahn- I'd like to talk to you about Kris Bryant's availability. Cubs- Just pay his salary, we don't want anything else at all of value. Hahn- I'd like to talk to you about Joc Pederson's availability.4 points

If it's any compensation, the current AL West standings spell out "ASSHAT" in logos.4 points

Injuries can derail even the best plans. The pitching staff is worth watching. Scoring will be at a premium now for this team. Abreu unfortunately will probably press even harder now. He may swing at pickoffs to first.4 points

How is trading Crochet for Kris Bryant pushing all the Sox chips in??? Crochet is a ticking time bomb injury wise. The kid is also years away from joining the starting rotation.I would trade him for Bryant right now without hesitation. As a fan I'm tired of hearing all this talk about maximizing the backend of a potential window. You are talking about something that may never happen. The American League is weak right now. Let's go get Bryant and win the AL pennant!4 points

Tony is playing Lamb regularly against RHP once he passed Tony’s LF audition. Both played four games since April 29th, Leary played five. On a team with a competent lucid modern day manager, Vaughn is a regular, Garcia a bench player, Lamb not even invited to ST.4 points

Len Kasper may be rethinking his career move to the South side about now. LaRussa is another one that came here for the shot at the WS. KC has to be pumped and the Indians have to be feeling like they can win the division. Bieber and Plesac are genuine top of rotation starters and their bullpen has been lights out.3 points

And the HOF excuse can't even be used anymore, we're nearing a 1/5th of the season complete so it's clear to see he's not a good manager anymore. It's not just 1 or 2 bad decisions in a vacuum. It's constant bad lineups and bad in game management. And being in the HOF is for what you did in the past. As Kylo Ren once said "Let the past die, kill it if you have to"3 points

Phil Rogers is a joke too... he once ranked offseason trades of MLB teams by the +/- of players they received or traded away. He's just bitter that the internet really exposed how bad of a sports writer he is. Sports writers should make you more informed about the sports they write about. You don't learn anything from Phil Rogers, he actively just makes people dumber with his thoughts.3 points

Or maybe Robert is only a few weeks? If that's the case, a lot of problems could be solved by La Russa yanking his head out of his ass and stop his "earn playing time" bullshit with Vaughn and Madrigal and putting Engel and Mendick on the bench instead of Lamb and Leury. If it's worse than a few weeks, well, they should still do the above things, but they can trade for an OF, but they should probably trade a minor league pitcher (such as Thompson) before jettisoning core pieces like Eloy, Vaughn, and now possibly Mercedes. I mean, honestly, you'd want to try and sell astronomically high on Mercedes before trading Eloy. It'd be dumb to trade Yermin right now, but it'd be dumber to trade Eloy.3 points

Are we talking a fantasy baseball trade? Come on man.3 points

One more thing with regards to La Russa and Mercedes; this is the same man that thought Jose Canseco hanging out with Madonna was a good enough excuse for not being on time and let him in the line up that day, but Mercedes being late? nah lets keep Jake Lamb in with the bases jucied, another smooth brain play by our Hall of Famer Baseball Person; because he legit.3 points

I'll say sorry to him iff: 1)Sox win the WS. Or 2) If the Sox don't win the division this year, I'll say "Sorry Rick, but 10 years is beyond enough time. It's time to hit the bricks."3 points

Lol. Still the best team in the division by a freaking mile. What are you smokin? Cleveland has like 1 pitcher and 1 hitter. KC there’s just no way that’s more talent Minnesota? Please2 points

How did some people make it this far in life. Such pessimism and give up attitude. We dont even know what the situation is and there are people calling to sell off assets that wont net much. It's more worth it to keep this team and compete in this shaky division.2 points

That is the major problem since he does have the support of the owner. Let's face facts, if Reinsdorf didn't get involved with such a stupid decision, Hahn would have never hired LaRussa.2 points

You're a clown dude. The Sox at 15-12, 1.5 GB of the fucking Royals and our biggest competition in 10-16. Get a fucking grip on reality.2 points

Just a regurgitation of the Passan report, but nice to see that somebody in Chicago media is willing to run it instead of gaslighting everyone a la Phil Rogers2 points

Rick Hahn would crazy to trade Eloy. Eloy is a generational talent that not only can produce 35-40 HR's & 100 plus RBI's a year as a .280-.300 hitter, but he is huge motivational and positive attitude player the team dugout needs. The Sox miss that energy and enthusiasm that Eloy brought to the team last year. Without Eloy the team doesn't seem to be having as much fun as last year.2 points

Garrett Crochet is years away from being an elite starting pitcher. He is way way more likely to come down with a forearm strain and end up on the shelf for 2 years like Kopech or Burdi. Hell Crochet is hurt as I'm typing this. Getting Bryant for Crochet would be an absolute coup. Trading Crochet isn't going to make the Sox cellar dwellers by 2023. It is time to grab the American League and Al Central by the Balls. We sat through years of losing on purpose and garbage baseball. No more excuses. The time to win is now!!!2 points

Possibly because those awful lineups have produced at a rate near the top of the league, despite injuries and lots of individual underperformance and slumps. The Sox are currently 1.5 games behind the best record in baseball. If LaRussa sucks, every other manager must also.2 points

Between the awful lineups and bad bullpen management, not sure how anyone can defend TLR at this point. He's either mailing it in or just doesn't have it anymore because he's either too old or the game has passed him by.2 points

This is the Post right here. For all the LaRussa bashing that goes on, Sox playing +.500 with dog ass performances by Abreu, Grandal, Moncada (until lately), then tack on all the injuries..... LaRussa will be in the running for manager of the year.2 points

I am not sure why TLR is still employed. It was found out he made a racial joke a few years ago to an employee at his animal charity, who laughed at it. He also defended this employee who was accused of being a racist by other employees of the charity. For a guy who had to say "I'm not a racist" in his introductory press conference, that is troubling. Also from a baseball standpoint he's awful, he's no better than Ricky. He manages like an old 70 something that's been out of the game for 9 years. He is actively hurting the team with his continued employment.2 points

That is actually a great idea! I don't foresee much in the way of contributions from Eloy this season, Robert's injury looks like it could be a come and go type after he is out for awhile, Eaton is also looking creaky. Bryant would give the team incredible flexibility, both IF and OF.2 points
-
If you really want to go for it, trade some of your better prospects for Kris Bryant. He looks incredible this year and would instantly be their best slugger.2 points

And who knows what Mercedes actually is come the end of the season. No reason to accommodate him long term right now after one good month.2 points
-
I'm just not mortgaging the future if they are gone for two-three months. It simply doesn't make sense. If this year is lost due to injury then it is what it is.2 points

He's an injured player now and a big injury risk moving forward . Tapia's no superstar but Eloy is no great WAR producer . Because of Tapia's speed and hit tool he's worth.3-.5 WAR so far this season. I suppose I am over hyping him because I imagine a .300 hitter with speed and versatile enough to play all 3 OF positions, sort of like a Tim Anderson type who provides much better OF depth. If you think Eloy is worth more than him you just answered my question if the Sox could get more than Tapia for him. Right now I'd rather take my chances on Mercedes and Vaughn and add another piece who will help in the playoffs and with depth and team speed than I am waiting around for Eloy and see what the Sox will do with him Vaughn and Mercedes, a group of either 3 DH's or 1 LF and 2 DH's.2 points

Why are people acting like Adam Engel is the savior? He’s definitely better than he once was but he’s still not all that great against RHP.2 points

Ah right -TWO- seasons 4 and 5 years ago. My bad. Totally can expect him to all the sudden find it again while moving Moncada out of his best position because Lamb hits lefty2 points

Surgery for muscles is rare. It's like trying to tie two pieces of spaghetti together. It rarely works and usually causes more scar tissue and its worse off. If it's a rupture of a tendon like Jimenez than it can work. However I've never seen one from the major hip flexor, only the sartorius but that was in young soccer players and the growth plate fractured. Hip flexor injuries look bad because you can't lift your leg at all. It not like the hamstring where you can walk without bending your knee.2 points
