LOL. Post-game mentioned how the only other modern era pitcher to have 10+ Ks, allow no more than 1 hit, and get 3 hits did with the bat today was Catfish Hunter. Ozzie then says thank god Hawk isnt still calling the game, or else we would have had to hear Hawk talk about Catfish Hunter the entire rest of the game. Then Ozzie did a Hawk impression. "I tell you what, Catfish Hunter was the best..." That was good stuff.9 points

Cease gets 3 hits off pitchers and then Leury goes and GIDP against a position player.3 points

Why will it prevent them from getting close to that? Are both Eloy and Robert expected to miss the playoffs? What’s your basis for saying the Sox are “in trouble?” I’ve provided betting odds and fangraphs metrics to support my argument that the Sox are STILL one of the best teams in the league. What have you given besides a hunch and a lazy line of because they haven’t been good in the past? If you paid any attention to the team this season or last you would recognize this team is different than past teams. Sorry but I’m not the dense one here.3 points

Yolmer and Goins in the lineup against Charlotte. Got my MILB.tv purchased for the year. A shame they don't have a Roku app for it.3 points

Hayward is a disaster. Cant believe anyone would want this guy.3 points

I JUST noticed the banner. Well done whoever did that ? Edit: anyway we can make them Star Wars force ghosts?3 points

Gallo sounds good to me. Left handed bat with a high OBP and massive power. Dude won a gold glove last year too. Dealing Crochet for Gallo is a no brainer for me. Let another team deal with Crochet's inevitable arm injuries.3 points

I know posting random names gives caulfield a dopamine rush, but none of these guys are much better than Leury. Inciarte would be fine I guess, but we need to acquire either an impact player or just ride it out.3 points

How the heck did you become a fan of all these teams? Did you just close your eyes and throw darts at a map of the US?3 points

Technically he was pretty decent with Angels last 2 years - no idea what happened to him when he went to the Reds. He isn't good - but if you get the Angels version it isn't bad. It is not a good stop gap by any means but it isn't like this guy is a total scrub either. I fully expect club can find a bat between now and the deadline though - not a Luis Robert replacement, but they can find something.2 points

You can do a lot with Tim and Madrigal in the top 2 spots. If Tim gets on you can try some hit and runs since Madrigal rarely swings and misses.2 points

I think tonight we get Vaughn's first homer. Ill call it a 2 run shot in the second!2 points

Mendick deserves to stay on the team for good. He is a nice little player that shouldn’t be the 27th man.2 points

I called this hours ago, I should be a pretend insider with a food related twitter handle.2 points

He's the RF version of Yasmani Grandal with slightly more power, but a lower career batting average and almost double the Ks. That should go over well with this fanbase!2 points

Hahn is an excellent GM/VP thanks to Kenny Williams out of the picture of any major decisions. However unfortunately, Reinsdorf shoving LaRussa down Hahn's throat was simply wrong on so many ownership and leadership levels.2 points

I don't know that the training staff isn't making some obvious mistake, but think about the offseason, what was our biggest complaint - the lack of depth. Why? Because we looked at the roster and saw a whole bunch of guys who were generally injury risks, all of whom were coming off the weirdest season in our lifetimes for training and schedules. This is why some of us said this team wasn't likely to win 100 games, and this is why people complained so much that Rick Hahn himself got sick of people throwing "The money will be spent" back at him on Twitter. If you told anyone in the offseason that 2 of the regulars were basically lost for the bulk of the season by early may, a lot of us would be saying "Well that figures, that's pretty much what we expected. We couldn't have told you how it happened, we probably wouldn't have guessed Robert and Eloy, but we wouldn't be surprised at all. You can't be all that surprised when guys who are injury risks get hurt.2 points

Odds that one of Madrigal/Vaughn gets a day off today or tomorrow making our lineup look even worse without Robert and no DH?2 points

Rosenthal has a more balanced and reasoned story on this in The Athletic for those who have subscriptions. Still critical of TLR for the obvious stuff, and discusses player dissension, but includes information obtained from coaches and more players than Passan's unsourced and unverified crap. Rosenthal: Tony La Russa, under scrutiny, justified some of his critics' skepticism in April – The Athletic2 points

I don't think it's fat fingers . Go look at any thread especially the recent ones regarding what the Sox should do after the Robert injury. Some think the season is over, some want a trade , some want to wait, all legitimate opinions, yet just about every kind of post there are laugh emoji's after them. Something to be upset about ? Maybe, perhaps not. But there does seem to be a preponderance of people with fat fingers or trolling responses for people they happen to disagree with from other opinions.2 points

Tbh, I'm more worried about how deep into games TLR has the pitchers going, especially after a shortened season. No need to ride the starters 110+ pitches.2 points

Hell no to this line of thinking. I thought the tank years were over. The Sox can't keep kicking the can down the road another year and waiting for a "contention window" that may never open. It's time for Hahn to get on the phone and start doing some work. No prospects should be untouchable at this point except Kopech.2 points

There's a lot that going around. Unfortunately the laugh emoji is being used to laugh at people instead using it for laughing at a comedic post.2 points

I would like to see the Sox try to get rid of the Aussie vulgarian before the trade deadline. Just get a team to take over his contract and maybe throw in an outfield prospect.2 points

Money isn't going to replace Eloy and Robert and the bullpen has been horrible. It is a hard thing to face up to but realistically, this season is toast. Maybe some silver linings on the dark clouds of 2021: Vaughn, Collins and Mercedes get a lot of at bats in the majors to prove whether they can hit consistently. Pressure is off Kopech to start until he has built up arm strength. Continue to develop Crochet on the fly including some pre-game infield practice. Assess the value of Rodon, Cease, Giolito and others to determine who might get extended, for how much and who might be tradeable. Allow Tony to manage these young players (respectfully) while looking for another Manager for next season. And for the rest of us - enjoy watching the games without worrying who wins., Relax and maybe spend time in more useful pursuits over the summer.2 points

Joy - another day with no baseball to sit around thinking about what could have been this season.2 points

I would guess most training staffs do the same thing 99.9% of the time. There might be a rogue trainer or 2, but these are the elite people in their field, and they keep up with all the latest things.2 points

Nah, I spent 5 minutes reviewing the Rodon signing thread last night. Your initial reaction to the signing was “this is depressing” followed by those couple other nuggets. Like I said, you’ve got it all figured out. Haha2 points

Oh sorry Dr. Ray maybe you have not heard that it is very possible that this injury affects his speed and that full details of the injury are unknown at this point. There were several pages of questions and answers from ptatc. However I do appreciate the optimism but definitive statements cannot be made at this juncture.2 points

No. It's not. And if you never complain, even if ownership of the team you cheer for purposely doesn't put that team in a position to win... then frankly you're not a real fan. But it's clearly more than you aren't thoughtful. You're not even attempting to actually engage my argument because you're too lazy and can't allow yourself to be challenged. I'm trying to make a point and for some reason you're just fixated on which specific team you think will win the division, which isn't even the fucking point. So if I say Cleveland, what is your actual response going to be? Are you even capable of one? Clearly you can't handle any if the arguments anyone is posing to you here. I'm glad you "believe" but if that's all you can do then you live in a fantasy world.2 points

This just breaks my heart. It makes me feel like White Sox fans can’t have anything special. I really really believe Robert would be the best player in franchise history. Hope he is doing alright - but this is right there with Drose acl in terms of punch in the gut as a fan. That said - Robert is young and a freak athlete - hopefully he will get through this and get all the way back to 100% and this ends up being a small blip on his way to greatness!!!!2 points
