The Royals have now lost 11 straight, still three games up on the Twins?6 points

Jake Lamb is a defensive liability at 1st base. Grandl would have made both plays. Why carry 3 catchers? If Yermin is on the bench he can catch in an emergency. This defense has to improve.5 points

Jack - Sox are winning. They've won 5 straight. They have the best winning percentage in the MLB. Just in case you didn't know.5 points

You actually don't have to freak out about Tony every day. It's possible5 points

Are you and others really taking his comment seriously? It was an obvious joke, and I'm assuming it was made to poke fun at the whiners/complainers.5 points

As the Sox currently have the highest winning percentage in MLB, it would be quite impossible to have played someone with a better record than them.5 points

It's like modern politics where it is a one or the other thing. If you like one side, you have to like every other thing that goes with it and vice versa. Apparently in this simple world if you don't like TLR you can't be happy if the team does well, and if they do, you the TLR stans will have you answer for why you are still angry that they are doing well every single day, even though you aren't. It's just dumb.4 points

News Flash! Sox have the best record in baseball and anybody they play will have a worst record. The Sox have to play who is scheduled. Thus far though, we are doing it impressively. If you are unimpressed, then you aren't a true Sox fan or just some casual fan unaware of real baseball facts. The realization which is more likely is you are either a Cubs fan trolling, or the biggest half glass empty contrarian on this forum.4 points

I don’t think it’s a coincidence the Sox played much worse without TA than either of the obstensibly better players on the shelf.4 points

I thought he pitched well. He was hitting his spots, unfortunately the Twins got a couple great swings off of him. That hr by kepler was inside off the plate. Hopefully he gets more chances3 points

The Sox have an incredible roster and are firing on all cylinders. Every Sox fan hopes that continues. Some feel LaRussa has made multiple inexcusable, very avoidable mistakes early in the season and are worried those mistakes could emerge when it really matters. I gave the Cody Parkey example about 30 pages back. So when @VAfan asks if the "TLR bashers are unhappy that the Sox are winning?" I feel it's appropriate to ask if he's trolling....because I really don't think it's that confusing to figure out. Maybe I'm giving too much credit to people.3 points

I wonder if all you TLR bashers are unhappy that the Sox are in first place, with the best record in baseball, have won 6 in a row, sweeping two division rivals in the process, while TLR has made some very astute moves?? I mean, does White Sox success, with TLR firmly at the helm, cause you consternation?? Or do you still nitpick, think the Sox are succeeding in spite of him, just so you can hold onto your prejudices? i see some very astute moves by TLR. Gave Billy Hamilton a start in CF against a lefty, and he goes 4 for 4 with a double, triple, and two singles, drives guys in and scores 3 runs. Today - I haven't seen the game - he makes a defensive play (or two) with men on base, saving runs and perhaps the game? Meanwhile, Jake Lamb gets a start to rest Jose from the beating he took yesterday, and he hits a HR giving the Sox enough of a lead to keep them ahead the whole game. Maybe he wasn't the best defensively, but did it cost the Sox the run he gave them? There are more moves I've liked, but I'll just leave it there.3 points

It’s absolutely not. It’s a completely asinine point. The Sox are missing arguably their two best position players. Should losses against the Twins not count in that case?3 points

Bottle this feeling and save it for a rainy day. There will be more valleys this season but this peak is good enough to necessitate a change of pants.3 points

I'm obviously not a huge fan of Madrigal and you should never, ever draft for need but there is an exception to every rule and between Nick and Andrew the Sox nailed those absolutely critical high picks during the tank years. Compare and contrast with Detoilet's picks, who look like ass.3 points

His May strikeout rate is less than half his April K-rate and he's almost doubled his ISO while maintaining a great walk rate. We are really blessed with rookies this year.3 points

La Russa had a couple of brain farts, but he was pressing all the right buttons late in this game. Gotta give the man his kudos.3 points

Andrew Vaughn is everything and more we could have hoped for for a guy that skipped AA and AAA. Dude will be a monster.3 points

Enjoy this day Sox fans. Number 1 in the power rankings, run differential, sweep of Twins and Royals (pains in our asses) and a 10 game lead on the team with the worst winning percentage in baseball.3 points

I think relievers are fickle creatures. I probably would have sent Jose Ruiz packing as he pissed me off through the years. But, He is looking pretty damn good right now. I would just switch Ruiz and Marshalls rolls as of now.3 points

He doesn't have options, so it would be a DFA. I think they'll give him a bit more time before they send him packing.3 points

As someone who has surface level understanding, sure. Sox lead the majors in wOBA at .332. Here's what wOBA is. MLB's example: This means that the Sox are getting on-base the most effectively. Even if they aren't home runs, it's still very, very effective because it's so often. How do I know that? Because I can still pull in the traditional stats of average, where they rank first (.262) and on-base percentage, where they rank second (.345). They're second in wRC+ (at 117), which MLB defines as this: This means the Sox are 17% above league average at creating runs. Also, unlike Houston and the Dodgers, the other top two offensive teams, the Sox are Top 6 in BsR, which FanGraphs defines as this: So the Sox are elite at creating runs (when normalized for stadiums, leagues, etc.), elite at getting on base and despite not hitting homers, towards the top of the league in "quality" of getting on base, and great on the base paths. Does that satisfy you?3 points

Can someone pull up the thread of people advocating extending him prior to the season??3 points

When they have Buxton in the lineup....and we beat Berrios or take down their closer (Taylor Rogers, with Colome already replaced). That’s when we can celebrate. They’re not the same team unless those two guys are on the field, and all the late game collapses have shaken their usually unflappable confidence.3 points

I also on a personal level would like it if Hendriks coming in during a high leverage non save situation would result in him toning down his antics a bit. Maybe he wouldn't be screaming do much profanity if it's the 7th or 8th. Maybe that's some people's cup of tea but to me it just looks stupid. Shut up and get the out. Judging by the contract you just signed, you have nothing to be upset about.3 points

I've been on for a month or 2. I post just occasionally just when I come up with something neat to say. I have only 2 friends who are sox fans so I gotta discuss somewhere. Random thoughts on us. Rick Hahn and our scouts are all that and a bag of potato chips, good to see Grandal hit a bomb we need him to be good, I trust all our starting staff now that Rodon has arrived ect2 points
