  1. Sadly funny that some fans want them to lose so badly that they saw a tag

  2. Many people here owe TLR an apology. He's been pretty spectacular as of late.

  3. Bitching about a players effort when he’s on a 6 and half win pace is clown shit lmao

  4. Cease deserves a big piece of this win. No earnies. Keeps them in the game when they are not playing that well. Reinforcements may be coming. Guys in Charlotte are hitting, so the Sox have options.

  5. This version of Madrigal would be a disappointment IMO

  6. Pony has put such a bad taste in my mouth the last few days. I was semi-enjoying him with Benetti, but now I’m getting annoyed just hearing his high and mighty voice.

  7. I love Tim Anderson, but Jose is every bit the heatbeat of this team. He could still be not playing and no one would have blamed him. Instead he gets his clock cleaned and is back winning a game on hustle 48 hours later. Love Jose

  8. I don't see how anyone with eyes could think he was out. You have to find a contact point of the glove to the skin or jersey to say he was tagged. I saw none of that . No altered movement of the glove or jersey to indicate there was a tag. Therefore inconclusive and the call stands.

  9. There's nothing that shows he made contact. And you guys sound like you need contacts.

  10. By trashing our players on perception or rumor? That's not entertaining as much as infuriating.

  14. In the umpire's defense, he literally had the best view and none of the camera angles showed a definitive tag.

  15. No it wasn't. It was close and they called it one way.

  17. No, once again you are wrong and assuming things on your own that I never once said. But for some reason you have a rather large problem with me, or anyone for that matter, launching any type of criticism at LaRussa. Which is odd because you don’t see the double standard you continue to post. You yourself have stated multiple times that LaRussa has made some bad in-game decisions and you aren’t even a big fan of his when it comes to on the field decisions. You also have gone over the top in your praise of this roster and how much talent the White Sox have. So if you think LaRussa isn’t great at managing, and the roster is great...what are YOU judging him on? By your own account, it seems like most somewhat competent baseball managers could have this roster in first place... Here is what you aren’t grasping, either because you don’t want to, or can’t figure it out. I’m not judging Jose Abreu on what he does off the field. I don’t know what he does off the field. I’ve read enough stories and heard enough quotes from players to give me an idea that he brings a certain amount of value to the locker room, but that’s not what I was referencing, at all. You inferred that, and that’s on you. On Wednesday night, Jose Abreu made 2-3 absolutely incredible plays at 1B. I’m still not a true believer in defensive analytics telling the entire story, and don’t believe a night like he had on the 12th will be accurately accounted for in player value at the end of the year. As Merkin put it: Once again, I don’t judge LaRussa I what I can’t see. I judge him on decisions he makes, on the field, with this very talented roster....and I haven’t been impressed. If you can’t deal with it.....that’s a you problem. Now go home and get your fucking shinebox.

  18. Tony could captain this ship to a title and you'd say it was despite him. You didn't even attempt to "play" you just took your ball and went home. For someone that was very willing to ascribe things to Jose Abreu that can't be measured you sure are certain of something you can measure in a manager that currently happens to be managing while the injury decimated Sox are the best team in baseball by 1st order wins, 2nd order wins, 3rd order wins, pythag wins and heart pumping pure moments of joy this season. I can measure those things and I DGAF if TLR is old or drinks 10 drinks before noon or plays for one run too often or plays his subs too often for now -- prima fucking facie (I think that's the latin) this guy is doing an alright job.

  20. It's amazing how much grace he gets around here. No, being a 1 WAR player isn't "fine" or "what he was expected to be". I've praised the guy because he's played well at times but overall he's underwhelming and physically after watching him everyday for 60 or so games now he just doesn't have a lot of ways he can improve. Defensively there's just not a lot of "there there". He really needs to hit 320 to be an average starter. That's going to be hard. Hope he proves me wrong.

  22. The angle from behind home plate looked to me like it showed daylight between the glove and Abreu. That was the angle that convinced me that he was really safe. I think Matheny is wrong on this one.

  23. Not a chance. There are about 4 or 5 guys ahead of him.

  24. The ump looked down on it from a few feet away and saw air between the catcher's mitt and Abreu. He had a better angle to make the call than the cameras could provide. I am still worried about Cleveland and KC. They both look better than I thought they were. You are right though, if you continue beating them even this early in the season , that makes a Division win more likely.

  25. Exactly, the rule is simple, the call stands unless there is irrefutable evidence to the contrary, there isn't in this instance so the ump's call stands.

  30. This inning was lost by an asshole trying to hit a 9000 foot homer instead of just trying to hit the ball hard. Great work Grandal.

  31. Note to Hahn: We need a veteran arm as the bridge in the 7th if it’s not going to be Kopech or Crochet.

  32. TLR has to figure out by now that Heuer is awful when he sits between innings.

  33. The blame goes to Abreu for mishandling a ground ball, not Bummer, not Madrigal.

  34. I’ll take KW’s baseball acumen over Hahn’s advanced degrees for $300, Anderson...or Marco Paddy’s, for that matter. He “just” went to Southern University.

  38. Id take a Ben Sheets or Rutherford right now to sub out one of Garcia, Hamilton, or Eaton.

  39. I would guess that there are at least 2 guys at Charlotte ahead of Blake, in the event that someone is called up, to play RF. Both Sheets and the newly acquired Goodwin would be more likely than Rutherford. He still has a lot to prove in his disappointing Minor League career. Nick Williams may also be ahead of him, on the depth chart. They really could use someone from outside of the organization.

  40. They moved him to the 3 spot in the order because he lacks interest and effort? As far as I know, Steve and Jason haven’t had access to the players in well over a year. They aren’t even making road trips. This is Stoney going off on his own. Pretty rich for a guy who posed for Playgirl to hate on another guy who advertises himself as a pimp.

  41. I‘d rather watch Moncada mail it in on a routine grounder from time to time than having to watch bad “gritty“ players.

  42. Huge difference in these situations. Sox had all the info they could ever need about Kelenic and passed on him when he could have been a realistic pick. Buehler was never going to get picked by the Sox at that spot. Lux would have been picked by the Sox instead of Burdi but he got picked before the spot.

  43. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/nick-madrigal-is-good-can-he-be-great/ Good article on Madrigal. He's a good player currently. His 20 grade power and lack of walks holds him back.
