And here is the bigger issue. Let's take the cult at their belief that this isn't a residual shot at one of his players, or even a group of players. How do you make a statement like this mere days after being in a national controversy, and NOT realize that it sounds like you are taking a shot at your own player, again? If the argument is that he isn't going after his own player, he apparently doesn't have enough of a thought process to realize that this statement sounds EXACTLY like he is going after his own player again, and it isn't a stretch to be interpreted as such. So is TLR petty, or just completely out of touch?7 points

Gotcha. It's just always sadly funny to me just how much soxtalk leans negative. Wayy more activity when they're losing. Alotta posters prefer being right about how bad they think the players, etc. are than the team actually winning. I don't get it. For me at least, I prefer sports being a fun escape than something that brings my mood down. As I've gotten older, I've gotten a lot better at just turning the TV off and forgetting about it when things go awry. I enjoy being invested in the team, but at the same time, it's not life or death.7 points

Shoutout to Liam Hendricks for pulling an Orlando Hernandez in the ninth inning!5 points

I’m probably the last person to ever discuss politics on this site, but it’s amazing how TLR has become Trump-esque on this site. Hell, the same rhetoric is used by those that have a problem with anyone who dislikes either guy.5 points

Was this the soxtalk posters in support of TLR for their group outing??????5 points

It's not instructive but it is embarrassing! The 2021 White Sox Attendance thread from the same guy who's single handedly keeping the Tatis Jr. thread alive, all the most embarrassing Sox fan behavior brought to you by a bored troll in China.5 points

I know this was stupidly created at the beginning of the season but we really don't need a fucking attendance thread.5 points

Its getting really hard to watch Grandal at the plate. He is literally looking for a walk every at bat. Takes obvious strikes then complains to the ump almost every pitch. Literally every at bat. Wonder if he's in his own head a bit or maybe still not back 100% physically but its painful to watch. In spite of McCanns slow start in NY, at this point I prefer him to Grandal.4 points

There is a point where a hitter gets so few hits that the other things that he brings to the table are somewhat negated by his inability to get a hit. I like to call it the Sox Adam Dunn rule. In my opinion, that threshold is about .230 If a player is below this line, then the value of the power and walks are diminished. We shall dub it the Dunn Line, as Adam Dunn walked that line during the most productive parts of his career.4 points

The 2016 team was all smoke and mirrors, to pin a bad season on a single game is not really all that useful. And: can you cool it for like 5 seconds and allow space in your brain for the fact that other people can have different views on things?3 points

The bullpen completely blew up after that game. I still blame Robin Ventura for trying to get by with Scott Carroll in that 8th inning instead of using a better reliever. Especially since he had to go to Matt Albers eventually anyways.3 points

Is this some new iteration of everything Rick Hahn=good, everything Kenny Williams=bad? Except now even more weirdly La Russa?3 points

We've also reached a point where Tony compliments a player and that conspiracy brigade turns that into a back-handed insult at Yermin. I didn't want La Russa as the Sox manager and I've been critical of some of the things I've seen this year. But it's reached the point where he gets jumped on for every little detail and it poisons the discussion of every thread on this board. I'm not a huge Tony fan but acting like he's the antichrist 24/7 leads others to defend him because of how outrageous you and others are. You have TLRDS. Seek help.3 points

Not really. Only when there's nothing of substance being discussed. Comrade Putin? wtf are you even babbling about?3 points

Clearly Yermin was just fortunate to luck into his playing time...pretty much by accident, and the fact Hahn and JR didn’t have more than $3 or $5 or $8 million or whatever we were led to believe in that old war chest. LaRussa would be in second place or maybe even third if it wasn’t for Yermin and also Vaughn and his agency being so amenable to do anything to help out the team...like playing LF and RF with hardly any lifetime experience there, bottom 25% foot speed but a willingness to do anything to get on the field somewhere and help his teammates out. That said, why haven’t we heard a single compliment in the last week directed at Yermin? Who has battled and grinded more consistently in our lineup? Who never complained when he had only one at bat last year...watching guys like Collins, EE and Mazara get most of those opportunities? Heck, even Zavala, for that matter. The White Sox did everything but let him go to another organization where he could receive an opportunity to get regular playing time. But hardly 4D/5D geniuses operating on a whole different level than the rest of the league.3 points

I find it "odd" that when I simply post a tweet of a LaRussa comment that I, along with others have taken objection over.....the LaRussa "defenders" are the ones that seem more outraged. "Good God Twitter will be the death of me?" Really, bro? Did my comment really trigger you that much? I simply pointed out something that seemed to fit a certain pattern by LaRussa, and I clearly am not the only one that thinks so. I don't think the tweet is going to cause me death, but I'm also not a crazy person, so who knows.3 points
-
Jeez, you guys are seeing ghosts around every corner now it seems. Too funny. When did he ever say Yermin DIDN'T grind? He wasn't talking about Yermin - He's talking about Vaughn, probably because he had a great game last night. Coded language? ? ?? I guess he can't compliment anyone else on the team now or its a sleight to Mercedes.3 points

Hahn almost always does a presser before the homestand. I don't think Cishek was reporting that it was happening but just tweeting on what he was expecting. LaRussa did his normal presser. Hahn was at the stadium sitting 30 feet away from me watching the game in the scout seats. It is really curious that Hahn didn't do his normal presser. Probably wanted to avoid having to defend things he doesn't agree with.3 points

Of all the atrocious takes on this board, you take issue with someone opining that if he keeps doing what he's doing Lynn could very well be a game 1 starter? With all the shit that gets thrown on this board, that was a very reasonable take, in my humble opinion. But I get that we gotta b**** about everything.3 points

When it's a woeful .209 and you K 37% of the time, then yes. His mighty .331 OPB doesn't make up for that crap. Sox have been through this before and it was ugly. He's another sports-center highlights from 3 seasons ago player.3 points
