Am I allowed to say I think La Russa is doing a good job or will that get me banned?6 points

If they get to make clueless comments which may influence other posters do I not have the right to make corrections to better educate our posters ? I consider what I did a service . But yes shame on them for blaming TLR for everything that they perceive is wrong when they have no clue. I've criticized TLR on plenty of his moves but that doesn't mean I can't stick up for him, when there are legitimate reasons for not criticizing him especially such a simple reason as 2 DH's in 3 days.5 points

Would be nice if we could cut the “us vs them” mentality within the fanbase. I didn’t like the hiring of Tony. I think he’s made too many mistakes so far. I also hope he succeeds, and credit where it’s due I think he’s had a few solid games in a row now. We all want the same thing. White Sox victories.4 points

Yea that's what I was about to post. Lynn is a well respected vet, a guy that is a leader and surely knows his body. The Sox do a good job keeping players on the field for the most part. They've earned the benefit of the doubt here and so has Lynn and frankly La Russa. This is the sort of thing you hired him for. He does do out of the box stuff once and awhile and personally I think it's because he's a very good man manager, all his other foibles aside.4 points

Coming in for the first time today after a DH sweep and I see the good vibes are strong!4 points

see below see below see below see below Um that's precisely why they took him out. see below see below . Not knowing baseball would make you the dildo. Yes it does. See below. Making uninformed comments , see below. Yes there was. See below Hey one guy has a thought other than TLR is an idiot. Yeah except see below. Yes it does , he did the right thing . See below And once again see below. Pretty much ! And again another DH coming up is precisely why it makes sense. See below Um noo. See below Most of the comments fall into the Wtf is TLR doing category and only a few actually decided to think a little bit. It was less than a month ago that Lynn was put on the Il for a strained right trapezius which he needs to pitch effectively since he's RH In his last 3 games he has made 111, 109 and 104 pitches. Now look at our pitching schedule recently and upcoming. 5/24 Lynn 5/25 Giolito 5/26 Rodon 5/27 Cease 5/28 Rained out 5/29 DH Keuchel and Lynn 5/30 Giolito (every 5th day) 5/31 DH Rodon (every 5th day ) and ? Kopech ? 6/1 Cease (every 5th day ) 6/2 This is where we have a problem . For both Keuchel and Lynn this would be an every 4th day start. So one of them may be pitching on short rest unless the Sox want to give Lopez or someone else a start. The likely candidate is Lynn which would explain why he was taken out after 82 pitches. Also it could be his trapezius was acting up again. Please try to remember the manager has other things to think about besides the current game situation unlike most of you. 2 Double headers in 3 days tends to screw up your starting pitching rotation.4 points

Most fans not seeing the games...if told of the injuries to Eloy/Robert/Engel would have presumed our record to be sub.500 I would guess. Mercedes and Rodon have been extrodinary and every player on the team has contributed along the way IMO, The team chemistry is off the charts and I give lots of credit to Tim, Jose, and yes...TL.4 points

Telling somebody what to wear is ridiculous. God knows what your guys fashion looks like or lack thereof. Talking about a guys game play is one thing, but playing dad is a whole different thing.4 points

+1. The trophy is a great tool at my disposal to reward outstanding posts.3 points

I for one, appreciate how you put a lot of thought into your posts. I value them more than those by others who often react out of some obvious and lame agenda or those who perpetually involve themselves in a laughable one-upmanship game. These are just anonymous posters who have an opinion about a game, so don't feel the need to counter them at every turn.3 points

Why do you think your judgment is better than an experienced Major League Manager who confers with coaches, has access to advanced stats and analytics, and has direct contact with players and trainers? I enjoy using emojis where appropriate. They can get a message across efficiently. ?3 points

I do more know about baseball and saw no need to insult TLR for things that are so obviously not his fault. There's already a lot to criticize him for. But just for your sake right after the game was over I read the whole game thread . That takes time. Then I quoted as many posts as I could about taking Lynn out. Then I checked who pitched on what days and the upcoming schedule. Wrote it all down on a piece of paper so I could make a very long post to make it as clear as possible that Lynn was taken out for reasons that were not apparent to many. All that took at least an hour. So no not Bingo ! I am also in California so I don't get to see or hear post game comments on Chicago radio or TV. All I get to see is the game . Post game comments do show up sometimes on my MLB app an hour or 2 after the game. If people don't like being called out for making thoughtless comments maybe they should try thinking.3 points

He's made a couple maddening mistakes (like ALL managers do). Mysteriously Marshall has pitched better since the night I got so upset about Tony putting him in. As of now, I'd agree with Tannerfan. La Russa is doing a good job. Part of baseball is beating bad teams and somehow win when key guys get injured. Keep it up, Tony. Make some of us critics look dumb. Nice to win both games of the DH today. Negatives so far: Throwing Yermin under the bus. Conceding that one game by putting in Marshall. Positives: The team's record.3 points

And most fans with any baseball knowledge should realize that 5 starting pitchers in 3 days means either 2 pitchers who aren't in the rotation are going to have to start or 1 will (Kopech) plus one going on short rest, most likely Lynn.2 points

If Lynn gets hurt it will have nothing to do with three days rest. He had a minor trap muscle injury he probably strained it grabbing a beer out of the clubhouse fridge because the one he wanted was all the way in the back. This is a team with pennant and WS aspirations there no punting games. Lance had a nice little breezy 82 pitches today and should be good for 80 more in a few days. No problem at all with the move and if the team's trainers and Hahn didn't clear it it wouldn't be happening.2 points

Well if he is reading this, and hate motivates him to stick around let me just be the 1st to say... You are doing great Tony!2 points
-
Honestly? That's worse. He's already had injury issues this year. Even if you have to punt on a game using someone like Stiever or ReyLo, don't risk Lynn.2 points

Hamilton and Madrigal with twice as many homers as Mazara had last year in 60 games.2 points

If you compare Gradal's production and contract to other players you'll be disappointed because he's a catcher and even slightly above average offense from a catcher costs a premium. Look at what McCann got.2 points

Happens every game thread .Why is Lamb ahead of Vaughn, why isn't Madrigal batting 2nd, why is Marshall ahead of Heuer. Then it all works out and there's silence from the TLR critics. That doesn't mean I'm carrying a pail for TLR it just means he does a lot right , not everything of course , we know that.2 points

I'm not a Jake Lamb fan yet, but it was a good move by Tony to put him in the line-up against a RH pitcher. Give credit where credit is due.2 points

Cranky “get off my lawn” baseball traditionalists love to knock freedom of personal expression, at every chance. Meanwhile, MLB demographics skew older and older. Capturing a younger fan base is becoming increasingly essential for the preservation (and future success) of Major League Baseball.2 points

And 12 4 or 5 run games. 7th in the MLB in runs scored. Seems pretty balanced to me.2 points

This is a very good take. The White Sox have a history of doing things in a clumsy way. But there are other things to be more concerned about. At least Loretta was recognized for a time. Some organizations never recognize their employees.2 points
