Did anyone on the Sox have the prescience to look at a damned forecast and consider whether a situation where we wasted lance start on 2 or 3 innings of rain-ball was a good idea?4 points

The lack of willingness to shake things up is starting to piss me off. Why is Yermin playing today but sitting yesterday against a lefty? Why is Gonzalez on this roster? Why was Collins playing yesterday against a lefty. So dumb. This team is sinking and needs help fast.3 points

I mean…they wanted to get the game in as the Mariners don’t return to town. Is it an ideal scenario? No. But they don’t control the weather and this board/fan base acts like the Sox are out to fuck their fans over everytime it rains. It’s so silly. If this board was in charge of PPDs a dozen games would be called a year that could easily get played.2 points

Blackmon is terrible this year. Awful offensive numbers for a Rockies player. He’s not a good solution to the issues the Sox have.2 points

We have been saying this for quite with anyone we have been facing. Truth is MLB pitching destroys AAA lineups.2 points

He needs to be brought up. If 3rd base is his natural best position, then why cant Jake play third and move Moncada to 2B? Let's not forget 2B is Moncada's first and original position before being converted to 3B.2 points

One thing I just thought of is how vaccinations will impact things at the trade deadline. I’d assume players that aren’t vaccinated will come at some discount as it puts downward pressure on total team thresholds. I have not been able to see anywhere online if Escobar has been vaccinated or not.2 points

I’m not an “insider” for the Sox. I have a bit of an insight with the blue jays. Everything my guy is telling me is the Sox are going crazy. Expect something soon2 points

Honestly - I wouldn’t put it past kw to at least make a call down that path. Don’t think Angels bite - but it’s kw.1 point

lol @ the thought of trading Lynn/Rodon. 0% chance that is even discussed. Likely 0% chance Vaughn or Kopech is on the table as well. However, talking about Crochet might be interesting. Adding him and some of our MiLB pieces would net us a big time trade. Not Ketel Marte big, but maybe Story? Maybe Gallo?1 point

Hard to imagine that trade happening...as it puts the White Sox in a situation where they’re dead in the water if another starting pitcher goes down. That’s the crazy thing about what the Indians are doing. By my count, they’re on their 9th and 10th starting pitchers of the season in less than three months. For the White Sox, that means starting Wright, Siever, Lambert and no idea who the other two possibly would be. It wouldn’t be pretty, needless to say. And despite Wright’s gaudy top-line numbers, it’s telling that he really hasn’t been considered for a promotion.1 point

I don't think he was talking about a trade with the Jays , just that his source with the Jays hears the Sox are very active unless the expect something big soon is actually involving the Jays . They need pitching and with Springer back maybe can afford to give up hitting. Hard to imagine the Sox giving up one of Lynn or Rodon to a contender but if the tradeoff is mutually beneficial to each others needs who knows. Maybe the Sox just put Kopech into the rotation then. If you give up one of Lynn or Rodon wouldn't you think it would be Rodon and would the Jays actually want him since he's also a free agent with a dubious injury history and questionable with innings pitched limits making his 2nd half /playoff contributions somewhat hazy ?1 point

Hard to imagine the Blue Jays dealing Semien this early...they really want to extend him. And with four other big name SS’s going into FA (and the uncertain offseason), it could easily happen. Just wonder what type of financial hit the Jays are taking over these two Covid seasons. If the Orioles trade Mullins, who besides Means and Rutschman are they building around? Mancini’s a possibility but he’s the Konerko to that franchise.1 point

Bryan Reynolds is a pipe dream. The White Sox aren’t trading Michael Kopech. To me, going big would be like Gallo and Kennedy from Texas and Frazier from Pittsburgh. I’m not sure what they’re planning though1 point

Because Carlos Rodon gets to choose his own catcher apparently, and has chosen against the teams $80 million catcher.1 point

Mercedes in against a righty. Just for perspective, he’s put up a -7 wRC+ against RHP in 38 plate appearances this month. I have no idea what the organization’s plan is with Yermin at this point other than close their eyes and hope he magically discovers his April production.1 point

Relax, I'm mostly making fun of this stoopid FO for actually trading anything for Mazara. Oh, and for those posters who carried a torch for Mazara, who has always sucked at baseball. Shit, if there are "good options," it wouldn't be Vaughn here in the first place. How about just having options that aren't "revolting?" I meant, its a 37 wrc+ vs. RHP for Vaughn. He'd need a ~200% increase in wrc to get to a league average wrc+ vs RHP. In terms of development, Vaughn looks like a guy who hasn't played above A+ ball. Fuck "learning how to hit a major league slider," he looks like he just might lose any measure of self-confidence at this rate. Its a 37 wc+. If WE know this, I guarantee that Vaughn and his team mates know this as well. At what point are fingers starting to be pointed at him? At what point do fissures develop in the clubhouse? He (and others) are actively hurting this team right now. He won't be hurt by being sent down, if Moncada got sent down, or Mickey Fucking Mantle got sent down, or any other number of youngsters got sent down without being totally crushed. YMMV.1 point

So two weeks ago this team proved how great it was and how resilent it was. Then when we start losing it is because of injuries. The injuries suck for sure but injuries will always happen in baseball. I'm sure the Angels would love to have a healthy Trout and Rendon play together. I'm sure the Twins and Yankees would love to have some luck with health, as would the Cubs. I'm sure Cleveland would love to have 3 of their SP's healthy. No excuses. If this offense is broke make a trade or two for some meh players that can hold the fort instead of running out guys that can't hit.1 point

They really need to do a serious assessment of what’s wrong with Abreu and whether Robert can come back at anywhere near 90%. The Indians’ injuries won’t allow a White Flag season, nor can or should it, but it seems they’re just going to have to be satisfied with hopefully making the playoffs and then getting some reinforcements for 2022-23 simply by spending money, since trade capital is slim and none.1 point

He JUST got to play his first pro game within the last week. Slow the roll on the panic. He's walking into a situation where everyone else has been playing in their spots for a month and a half, and wasn't even supposed to be with this team originally. Let the kid gets his ABs and settle in.1 point
