Holy crap. The just took a five year span of burning this to the ground, getting amazing returns, even in hindsight, for the players they originally had on the roster, and turning this into a playoff team last year, and a first place team this year. We have six of our own 1st round draft picks on this roster. You can nitpick all you want at some of the moves along the way, but you can't say they don't have vision. You might not like their vision, but they also have some fairly solid results to back up what they have done so far.

They have too many holes to fill, no decent minor leaguers from which to trade because they drafted a ton of project HS pitchers and none of them have developed yet, and a few key players rapidly approaching free agency. If they don't get their shit together soon, a retool around the players that team control may be appropriate.

It's hard for people to think outside the box. This is what Tampa Bay does all the time on a nothing budget and they still contend. However there is one difference . Tampa Bay some how still keeps winning and ends up with a bunch of minor league talent. It's because they trade pieces before they get expensive and multiple years left before they hit free agency and that gets them multiple pieces of minor league talent in return . Just recently it was Snell and Adames with Wander Franco waiting to replace Adames .

Rodon's performance this year is the biggest reason I am okay with the Sox trading prospects to add. He's their Game 1 ace. He's the biggest horse. You get rid of him and our chances to win anything of consequence in the playoffs drop considerably.
