  1. If anyone is loving a possible TJS for Marshall thats very fucked up
    9 points
  2. Nobody believes that. You'd be complaining about the lack of prospects or whatever part of the team that was lowest performing. If you were dating Kate Upton you'd be complaining about the fact that she's not going to age well. If you won the lottery you would be bitching about the taxes you'd have to pay.

  3. OK so not to be a dick or whatever but seriously, if Marshall goes on the IL we're a better team because of it.

  4. For those that don't venture into the minor league thread, good night in the minors so far... Burger 3-3, HR Rutherford 2-3 Cespedes 3-5, 2 2B, SB Rodriguez 3-4 Ramos 2-4, 2 2B Krogman 1-2, HR, 2 BB

  5. His OBP and defensive ability have made him a top 20 player in the sport despite not hitting for enough power. He's really good.

  6. Cespedes just hit his third double of the night for WS

  7. Yeah I love Abreu battling through all these injuries and contributing nothing on offense because of it.

  8. All Balta does is watch daytime soap operas now a days. He's far removed from the MLB at this point.

  9. Ozzie on the post game said he should have buried one in Donaldsons ribs and said, "oops, sorry, no sticky stuff."

  10. Did Tony LaRussa talk to Donaldson about the Joy's of Respecting the Game?

  11. Fuck. The. Twins. That is all. Fuck those fucking fuckers. Keep them in the cellar where they belong.

  12. Plus two BBS. And all three hits were off RHP. Time to accept the fact that Burger may be legit.

  13. Sheets hitting to the opposite field. Sox hitting coach will cure him of that quickly. Soon he'll learn to pull weak grounders to 2nd like he's supposed to.

  14. That was the impression I got. I am by no means an insider or whatever. Every now and then I can get tidbits of info, and based on what I was told it sounded like the Sox were being very aggressive. It’s still early so I’m going to stay optimistic.

  15. Jack, I think you might be in my fantasy league; this guy in our league trades away every good player for a bag of balls once he has like a bad week or two.

  16. yeah we should play the other guys that are a threat... oh wait there aren't any.

  20. Holy crap. The just took a five year span of burning this to the ground, getting amazing returns, even in hindsight, for the players they originally had on the roster, and turning this into a playoff team last year, and a first place team this year. We have six of our own 1st round draft picks on this roster. You can nitpick all you want at some of the moves along the way, but you can't say they don't have vision. You might not like their vision, but they also have some fairly solid results to back up what they have done so far.

  22. The White Sox don't get the extra draft picks or international space that the Brewers get.

  23. Jack if they were fully healthy and had the best record in the MLB you would be complaining saying they're not proven because the division sucks and they didn't spend enough in the offseason. At what point do you realize you're going to b**** and moan regardless of how the Sox fare?

  24. The Rays signed Garcia in January of 2019 and Garcia makes millions more than Eaton in 2021 lol. Glasgow is in Scotland. Glasnow is on the IL from complications of being forced to stop cheating. "Yondy" Chirinos is actually Yonny Chirinos. Fleming is on the DL simply because he's sore and the Rays had an off day yesterday and have one Thursday. They can IL him, skip his start and carry an extra reliever. Plus he was slated to face Toronto who hammers lefties and they gave him trouble in two starts this year. Archer is hurt. As he was expected to be. What's the point here?

  25. Giolito only has 2 years left, Moncada and Anderson 3 (I don't think Moncada's 2025 option is getting picked up unless he starts hitting for power again) They have some decisions to make next year about this time.

  26. Our offense is a disaster at the moment and we’re talking about trading Moncada? What did I miss here?

  27. He may hit left handed, but not the right type of left handed.

  28. Totally disagree. Selfish is a guy who has to be feeling great to consider playing. Would rather just cash his check. This is a guy who wants to help the team win. It's up to the team to determine if he is not physically up to it, and do what they have to do.

  29. Correct. If a death in the family stopped the franchise from doing business in a timely manner, that would signal a problem with delegation. Not a good way to run a business.

  30. Collins/Grandal need to both be in the lineup all 3 days and Sheets at least 2 of the 3.

  31. Madrigal was ruled out for the season two weeks ago. If they couldn't get things together to get JR's approval to take on salary before his wife died yesterday then they are incompetent.

  34. If you subscribe to the Athletic, it was in an offseason or ST article about Lynn. I don't feel like going back and looking through 3-6 months of articles.

  36. Dude you always think ripping apart a team in any sport every two years is the right thing. This is why I don't argue with you anymore. It's nonsense

  37. They have too many holes to fill, no decent minor leaguers from which to trade because they drafted a ton of project HS pitchers and none of them have developed yet, and a few key players rapidly approaching free agency. If they don't get their shit together soon, a retool around the players that team control may be appropriate.

  38. McHugh spent exactly one day on the Covid IL and pitched 4 days ago

  39. This is irrelevant to what we are talking about here though. We aren't talking about future payroll, we are talking about making this team stronger now and people are talking about trading off the major league roster while also saying the minors are weak. Come on now

  40. So are we trading the road block that is Yoan to make room for Jake Burger yet?

  41. Big media is on it for a reason. I heard that they loved Montgomery like 12 weeks ago. It seemed like a reach at the time. Shirley loves Indiana guys. The kid is transitioning to baseball full time. He's 19 which is an issue for lots of teams but the clubs who like him think the Corey Seager comps are legit and most of those teams believe he can stay at shortstop. Also, it's not that early. These teams wish that they could've drafted already. The amateur scouts are already scouting for next year due to the calendar change that nobody really wanted other than MLB.

  42. I had understood that Heyman said Burger, or Collins, not "and" Collins. At any rate, that's too much to give up for a half season of Escobar.

  43. There is no way in hell KC is going to get a prospect as good as MK for Merrifield. They may get multiple decent prospects but no way someone like MK

  44. It's hard for people to think outside the box. This is what Tampa Bay does all the time on a nothing budget and they still contend. However there is one difference . Tampa Bay some how still keeps winning and ends up with a bunch of minor league talent. It's because they trade pieces before they get expensive and multiple years left before they hit free agency and that gets them multiple pieces of minor league talent in return . Just recently it was Snell and Adames with Wander Franco waiting to replace Adames .

  45. Rodon's performance this year is the biggest reason I am okay with the Sox trading prospects to add. He's their Game 1 ace. He's the biggest horse. You get rid of him and our chances to win anything of consequence in the playoffs drop considerably.
