This may mean Burger is here a while. But a big recognition of Forbes, who to me is another sign of Sox PD working better. We acquired him as a raw, toolsy player from Texas for MiGo in 2017 as a 20 year old. While producing decent averages, he had no power to speak of, but slowly climbed up the ladder from W-S to Bham. In 2019 in Bham, something interesting happened, he started to walk a lot. He doubled his walks from year before and put up a nice .330 OBP despite a low average. But again, zero power. Them we miss him for a full year and he comes back to Bham as a 24 year old and starts off with a fantastic .299/.356/.456 slash line. He had more homers in 2 months this year than all of 2019, his .150+ iso his best yet. Congrats to Forbes! Go kick charlottes ass and don’t look back.5 points

The changes to the ball and the enforcement of sticky stuff, and the injury to Kopech has this bordering on a failed rebuild at this point. If Moncada has no power without the super ball and Giolito has no command without pine tar, the entire foundation of the rebuild is shot.4 points

I have a problem with all the hits he gives up. Regardless of outfield positioning.3 points

You're basically an imbecile You went from bragging about how you were the only Giolito believer last year to now after his first bad start since May calling the Sox rebuild a failure & wondering if they'll win more than 85 games the next few years because of it Seriously shut the fuck up3 points

What an absolute abomination of a 2 strike pitch. Not getting that extension signed, looks better and better.3 points

If you aren't physically able to get into it with an umpire to defend your players, then you have no business being a major league manager and whomever hired you has no business owning a major league team.2 points

His comments aren’t that bad when you read the entire statement within context.2 points

Also guys, Detroit isn't that bad of a team. They might be challenging the Sox as soon as next year.2 points

They're basically going to turn into the Angels next year. Also, Robert only had 1 HR when he got hurt so we have to question that as well.2 points

Zack Collins is on the team for his bat. If he has no bat he has no role.2 points

Story scares me a bit. Obviously super talented, but he’s much better against LHP and then you’ve got the whole Coors factor that makes you question his road / home splits. I’m fully aware of the hangover effect, but a 86 wRC+ on the road against RHP is a red flag. I’d still be down to acquire him, but you’d think he’d be one of the more costly rentals out there.2 points

If Bauer wasn't a multi millionaire he might spend some time in prison for this. Instead he's gonna go kick it with Bill Cosby lol2 points

Man, it's really pathetic to die on the hill of "Will someone please think of the process?" when someone had their skull cracked open and raped. Brain worms.2 points

Eaton has been garbage this year. He had one average month then fell off. The Sox have found good OF production from Vaughn, Goodwin, Sheets and Hamilton. Robert is obviously penciled in as the CFer, and Engel as the 4th OF. Eloy will DH I would guess. Where does that leave Eaton? I see no reason to keep him on the roster as our OFers return to the lineup. Do you think they will DFA him despite his "veteran presence" and 7 mil salary? Does he have any use in your opinion?1 point

I actually said at the time it was too early to draw any conclusions, but @Look at Ray Ray Run can’t say to “relax it’s one good month” after he himself was hyping up Eaton’s bat as being a “perfect fit” for the two hole after that one month and speculating it would last all season.1 point

At the time, Eaton was fine and Pederson was terrible to be fair. edit: worse than terrible actually1 point

Don't forget Frazier and Reynolds. The Sox won't be able to field a Knights and Barons team on August 11 point

He can play 1st from what I understand, and he can "play" RF from what we have all seen. He might be able to improve, but right now he is Daniel Palka bad out there.1 point

Yeah, I stopped questioning the lineups a few weeks ago. Tony is an excellent driver.1 point

Yeah...I haven’t been too critical of TLR’s lineups since he does seem to get more than expected from most players...but that’s a head scratcher.1 point

The disturbing thing about sports, especially at the professional level, is that the macho stuff sometimes turns into real abuse and violence. This situation still needs to be investigated, but, on the surface, it is more than ugly. I'm glad Bauer isn't on the White Sox. I don't want to cheer him on.1 point

Tony should get a little hotter. It isn't going to hurt, and may get the Sox a call or 2 down the road. Obviously we don't know what he is saying from the dugout, but he rarely makes an appearance on the field, even though there has been several times it had been, as has getting ejected, been warranted. Katz got thrown out saying it was not up. This isn't Little League. Tony used to throw bases. Granted, at his advanced age, he may throw out his back if he tried, but his team has been screwed by bad balls and strikes calls more than most. Get tossed, see if it helps.1 point

Lucas Giolito's last 2 starts have had a lower spin rate on his fastball and slider than any game he's pitched since early 2019. He's in the "high drop in his spin rate" category. And it happened conveniently at the exact same time they started checking. That doesn't mean he can't pitch without the stuff, but he absolutely was using. Figure out how to deal with that, because it happened.1 point

Joe and 2 Crede. Dude was down in the count every at bat before 05. Erstad Kotsay after they let Thome go to the Twins for the rotational DH.1 point

He has been raking, just think Boston will have to work OT with Sheets to get him to the point he can play OF in the playoffs. Wouldn’t want to pencil in Lamb or Goodwin in the OF either, could cause big problems pitching wise with pitchers needing four or five outs to get out of an inning. Playoffs too important to cut corners defensively, with LF already a huge liability if Eloy returns to the field.1 point

Frazier is an okay ball player but Sox just don’t need to pay this kind of price. Thanks but no thanks. And if you are going to dangle Vaughn and/or Crochet…go get a star. Shoot - those two could have landed you Arenado no problem. I don’t need to go crazy to increase odds of winning a series by a few percentages this year but while bringing down future odds.1 point

I am glad you found some bloggers, a WWE writer and Keith Olbermann (LOL) to either loosely support your thoughts or take exception to what Bauer is accused of. I also think what Bauer is accused of is heinous and disturbing. However, you'll notice none of your bloggers or the charlatan that is Keiht Olbermann are speaking to the policy or the MLB's and MLBPA's process for dealing with these matters. That is because they are looking for clicks on social media. The severity of the woman's statement do not remove the need for an investigation and legal process. Based on what's been said and how Bauer responded, it seems the woman will get justice as he's not even denying some awful and clearly illegal acts. It sucks the legal process takes time to play out but that's how the legal system works. I am just speaking to the facts of the matter. The MLB's domestic violence policy is very clear. The Dodgers were clear that they were following the MLB's lead. The MLB's domestic violence policy is clear that the initial action sits with the Commissioner. The MLB put him on administrative leave quickly enough where he did not return to the field after the allegations came to light. The situation is playing out in line with the way the joint agreement intended. Whether you agree with it or not is a different story. People can be upset with Bauer, that's fine but the Dodgers and the MLB haven't done anything wrong...yet.1 point

James Shields was hated the minute he got here. He sucked and continued to suck and has become the ultimate symbol of Tatis not being on the Sox and of front office ineptitude.1 point
