  2. Bernstein and Rahimi should be fired on the spot for thinking Peterson is worth more than Cease. The level of incompetence in that thought process is mind-numbing.

  3. That was probably Vaughn's fault, according to Dallas, because he wasn't playing 6 rows into the seats.

  4. Don’t lose hope! You’ll meet the right guy eventually

  5. What in the fuck are you talking about? He’s literally 30th in fWAR this year and basically has 1 1/3 seasons worth of starts. He will likely regress some due to a lack of sticky stuff, but he has plenty of room for growth and he’s made substantial improvement in this year alone. Worst case scenario, he’s a damn good #4 starter and that has plenty of value when you’re under control for four more cheap years. Joc probably has negative value at this point. It’s a completely fucking stupid trade idea.

  6. Division isn’t won yet. What’s wrong with wanting to see the lead grow?

  7. Goodwin has 12 RBI already. I hate him at cleanup, but if it works, it works.

  8. None of us have any idea how the industry values Cease. They might value him similar to Lopez after 2018.

  9. Cease's numbers haven't even been that bad since the sticky ban. Whoever trades a 25 year old pitcher on pace for a 4 WAR season for a near replacement level outfielder with 3 months of control is an absolute idiot. To think Pederson demands more than that is just incredibly stupid.

  10. Although this is just a proposal from a caller on the Score, it's comically bad and figured it should be shared if anyone is looking for a good laugh this afternoon.

  12. Wtg dude! That just might be the best empty nonsense post this year. Maybe you should come up with a more intelligent response than this loser comment, "that maybe I should oversee the bullpen." I guess that was your attempt at sarcasm. LOL! Hey but wait, maybe you're on to something. Every time someone doesn't agree with a comment, we can all post back with "hey, maybe you should be the manager and manage the bullpen...Mr. Baseball savant. FYI dude, this is a forum and I and anybody else here can have their opinions whether right or wrong. The object of this forum is if you don't agree, then come back with your personal logical argument and not some lazy grade school sarcastic comment.

  13. Can we put a padlock on Hahn's phone now? I say let's just wait for Luis, Eloy and Yaz and ride this horse home.

  14. I kinda like Gary Thorne. He MC’d Big Frank’s (among many notable others that year) HOF ceremony, so I’ve got a soft spot for him. But I do think he’s pretty good.

  15. Why do any of you track the indians like it matters? They suck and have no chance. The Sox are superior. Focus on good baseball, not shitty cleveland pretending.

  16. credit where credit is due...this ump is freaking awesome. I don't think he has missed more than maybe 2 pitches all night. refreshing.

  18. That’s a bummer. Wish he could have kept the lead.

  19. Way to go Jose! Old school baseball. The analysts can't tell me that wasn't valuable, baby. And it was 'just' a single! Love me some Abreu.

  20. You insult Mark Buehrle in a dream like that, you better wake up and apologize. Mark Buerhle 3.89 fWAR per season (11 seasons) + World Series Ace. Dallas Keuchel 2.4 fWAR in over a season with the White Sox, 10 out exit in playoffs with the loss.

  25. What if you think that was substance related and the guy from 2019-20 is the real Cease? I think Cease has more trade value than Pederson, but not by much.
    3 points
  26. No it isn't. You might not value him at top prospect cost, but he is LONG above dumped for a shitty player with an expiring contract. 4 years of control for even a mediocre starter is FAR and above the return for a Joc Peterson.

  27. This is the most Score call I've ever heard. Meatball fan throws out dumb and lopsided trade idea. Hosts somehow think that his trade idea wasn't lopsided enough and thinks it should only be worse.

  28. I’m sorry, but did Bernstein and his co-host just that the price for Joc Pederson would be Cease+. If so, ???

  32. Please note you are responding to the same poster who just last year argued success and player production has nothing to do with the manager and all the manager did was hold the team back with poor decision making and everything was the managers fault. 1 year later and he is now arguing the exact opposite. Players perform because they're professionals. The manager should be judged based on decisions he directly impacts and in that arena LaRussa has sucked. The team has overcome LaRussa's incompetence as a decision maker, nothing more, nothing less. LaRussa has set the organization back multiple decades with his insistence on bunting and his reluctance to shift his defense in a way that makes any sense.

  33. I am going to be honest here, there is about zero chance he goes to jail. Cases like this are so notoriously hard to convict in, especially because it is the one crime where it is perfectly OK and standard protocol to put the victim on trial. Offenders are rarely charged, let alone convicted.

  34. Thus isn't load management. Load management implies healthy players whose time is limited because normal wear and tear of a normal season may be too much for them to perform at a high level for each game. Injury prevention is secondary. In this case you've got a pitcher who has not had a regular load for 2 straight years due to injuries. This isn't load management. This is knowing his individual situation the past 2 years and wanting to prevent injuries and have him available for the post season

  37. Talk about the blind squirrel. You will post takes on both sides of the argument, sometimes in the same day, get called out for it, edit your posts then walk it back. You’re bound to “hit” on something with your carpet bombing. Then you’re going to drop a “Hate to say I told you guys, but…” ???

  38. You have to remember, Bernstein believes his job is to create controversy and "educate" the listeners who are not as smart as him. This comment falls into the former category.

  39. If any pitcher has a bad start they're trash and must be thought of as such by the industry and sold for scraps. I get being a contrarian, but like, dude.

  40. I am not presumptuous enough to claim to know what the front office is trying to do. These are merely my thoughts. In any case, it will be interesting to see what Hahn does.

  42. 27th overall player on pipeline. If they can do Montgomery/Muncy at 22 and Petty at 57, that’s a real jolt to the system

  43. You seem to forget we have the #1 starting rotation and that has been healthy and keeping us going. TLR had nothing to do with bringing those pitchers here or making them the solid staff they are. You also fail to realize we play in arguably the weakest division in baseball....for sure the AL. When guys like Burger, Sheets, Vaughn, Goodwin and Hamilton came through in helping through these horrific injuries, TLR had little to do with making them perform with clutch hits. This team's credit goes to primarily to Rick Hahn, as he put together a team that can win in spite of TLR and not because of him. When we get Robert and Eloy back, you won't need a master aviator to land this plane. LOL

  44. Yeah, he’s only been doing this traveling thing for over 50 years now as both player and broadcaster. Totally not his thing.

  45. Right now the White Sox are 31-14 at home and 20-21 on the road. No other AL team has such huge splits. They are also 2 games behind Both Boston and Houston for home field advantage. Right now, if the playoffs started, they would have games 1-2 on the road in one of those parks. Maybe everything is wrapped up by a point in September where you can skip a start for him, maybe his arm gives you no choice as it breaks down at some point and you have to give him a few weeks off, but aside from that, shutting him down for an extended period creates a good chance of a first round loss.
