I wrote a piece before the season comparing Lance Lynn and Trevor Bauer. Here's the link. And here was the post.7 points

Altuve striking out for the last out was the cherry on top. idk how but Rodon needs to be a White Sox next year and beyond5 points

about to go 20 over .500 and outscoring the Stros 14-1 last two nights and it's miserable b**** fest in here, never change Soxtalk.5 points

Don't stop now, Rick Hahn. Hard Carl is not as big a bastard, but extend him too!!!5 points

Pilkington's slider looks solid. Pair that with a 94-95 MPH fastball and supposedly a plus-plus changeup. I'm officially excited about him.4 points

Huge win! Also, @chitownsportsfan = NSC confirmed:4 points

More like defend your guy’s dumb ass decisions regardless of how dumb they may be. Sox have more than two relievers who can hold a four run lead, it’s asinine, especially with a DH tomorrow.4 points

More like the “miserable wench after miserable wench” line of SoxTalk as we win a series between two teams playing for the American League’s best record. Keep it up Sox. Incredibly grateful for this weekend and season.4 points

it gets really tired being accused of being a "water carrier" or whatever for big pharma or the mainstream media or whatever when you simply want to see people get vaccinated because it's literally the best way to prevent needless death. i'm not in the pocket of pfizer. i could give two shits about cnn's ratings. vaccination is the best way to keep people from dying. just because people have diabetes or are overweight or whatever doesn't mean their deaths are more acceptable. shit, i can even understand vaccine hesitancy. my brother is vaccinated, my sister in law is not because she is pregnant and was concerned about possible complications from that. i get it. what i don't get are the q-style arguments against it, like its all for fauci, or that this is all intentional or whatever. fuck that. there's been thousands upon thousands of needless deaths and we have a tool to fight that4 points

I dunno. I'm not seeing enough drunken tweets bashing Benetti from NSC.3 points

The White Sox traded both Aparicio and Fox...I imagine Molina isn't any more popular than they were with their respective fan bases. A good number of their fans would view it as being respectful of Yadi IMO.3 points

This series showed why its critical not to step off the gas despite the big lead in the division. The Sox haven't played so well against good teams on the road, but have won series against Toronto, Tampa and Houston at home. Hanging on to that #1 seed could end up being the difference in the playoffs.3 points

I would argue beating the Astros and a series win was more important psychologically for the team. We may not even need a closer tomorrow!3 points

There's the very distinct possibility they're using bullpen and side sessions as well. You can level a lot of criticisms at the Sox. I think they are fully aware of what Michael is.3 points
-
If the other seven bullpen pitchers can’t be trusted to hold a four run lead for an inning, you need seven new relievers at the deadline.3 points
-
36 innings equals zero chance of starting next season. He needs at least 90 innings this season ideally. I love him as a relief weapon...but if this team is serious about winning a world series you cannot trust cease or keuchel.3 points

What’s their plan exactly? Kopech is sitting at 36.1 innings on the year.3 points
-
Honestly, Kopech should pitch the 9th, I like Liam but he's prone to giving up HRs3 points
-
Using Kopech for 1 inning today rather than beginning the process of stretching him back out for 2 or 3 innings tomorrow would be very disappointing.3 points

Judging by past returns for rental hitters, Sheets for Escobar woukd be an overpay. Even superstar hitters like JDM got traded for pretty much a bag of balls.3 points

Long time lurker. I usually read all of the non-game threads. Was 12 years old for the 59 go go sox. Not all the games are of equal importance the way the division has shaken out. Beating the Astros matter. Potentially losing a game to the Twins has no importance.2 points

You guys are pretty delusional if you think the Sox can get a 2B without trading Sheets and Burger. So we would be wayyyyyy overpaying for a rental and losing 2 studs. They aren't doing that. Burger needs to be in the lineup everyday and so does Sheets. They are better hitters than Leury Goodwin Engel Hamilton Mendick Collins Zavala2 points

It's a Dodgers problem. Where can we play all the good players? Poor us.2 points

We need to try him at 2nd base. Maybe he will be adequate much like Vaughn has been a pleasant surprise in left. That homer was 456 feet with 115 exit velocity.2 points

Lucroy had a 680 OPS in AAA this year and was released by 3 major league teams. This guy isn’t a friggen starter gmafb2 points

I mean, this really makes the Dunning deal a HR. I think the Rangers did fine in the deal too, Lynn didn’t make sense for them in their rebuild…but Lance Lynn was a Top 3 pitcher in the AL in the first half and seemingly took an undermarket extension to stay with the Sox. It’s a good day.2 points

I like Kath better. Montgomery is very raw. He has a great frame and is very athletic. The tools are obvious but he lacks feel to hit and instincts for the game. Usually those guys go to school because it's very hard to learn feel to hit facing 92+ everyday. Kath is more polished, has a better swing and a much better chance to get to his power which is substantial. I really like they picked them both because the risk of Montgomery is mitigated by Kath.2 points
