  1. Thankfully youre not affiliated with the Sox. If Reylo was lights out for the rest of the season and another player was doing bad youd be an idiot not to give him a chance.

  2. Knowing Leury's playing time should now be drastically cut

  3. Cesar Hernandez is way way way better than Leury Garcia. Whatever idiot said they're pretty similar should ban himself.

  4. He is stunting AV growth. He comes up to bat in the playoffs he needs the experience of what pitchers like to do to get him out. Sitting 5 our of 7 days just so Leury can get AB's is asinine and stupid. You want to rest AV, fine then sit him once a week not every damn day Why is Moncada or Cesar not sitting. They haven't had an off in like 2 months

  6. Jose - never has an off day Moncada- never has an off day Cesar - never has an off day Don't give me an argument that he wants to rest players when he never rests players. The only players that sit are young guys. It has nothing to do with keeping the team fresh, just some stupid reason that the media and the blind eat up

  7. yeah but vaughn has been hitting the ball well - you dont sit guys when they are hot.

  8. That would be fine if that is what Tony was doing across the roster. Yoan, with an injured shoulder, hasn’t had an inning off since July 9th. Tim hasn’t had a non DH day off since late May. Jose has had one (a second game of a DH) since mid May.

  9. I assume Sheets will be the corresponding move, and the kid deserves a round of applause. Go down and rake in AAA for the next month and maybe find yourself back in Chicago in September. Well done, kid!

  10. Kath he wasn't a consensus first round talent (to some, not even a 2nd round talent). So why pay him overslot? If they think he's really a first round talent (while few others do) then that's their premium. Same with the 3rd round pick. As for rounds 5-10, they've had more success in those rounds than they've had in the 2nd (which is none in the last 20+ years, Sheets and the recent picks TBD).

  15. At this point anyone not trusting LaRussa with lineups and spreading out the playing time is just someone who just enjoys whining about everything in life.

  16. Vaughn should be playing every day while he’s this hot. In baseball an off day can interrupt the rhythm of a hot hitter. When he’s slumping give him a game or two off then. Somebody should also tell TLR that old man Leury needs to be plenty rested for his October benchwarming duties…

  17. Come on TLR, you couldn't give us Vaughn-Robert-Goodwin with Eloy at DH at least? We gotta have Leury and Goodwin as flanks to Robert?!?! ?

  18. Leury must have some dirt on Tony, because this is absolutely ridiculous

  19. According to tray, the only righties he should play against are ones that belong in the minors ?

  20. To some like me it's a great movie. Those that think as i do that probably played a lot of catch growing up with their fathers and appreciate the history of the game. Then throw in the times of your life that you grew up started doing your own thing and fought with your old man about your long hair or staying out too late or generally being a pain in the ass to your parents. My Dad is 87 now and has been in and out of ICU's for the past month and is nearing the end of his days. The movie represents when he was pretty young and vibrant and our common love of baseball and the White Sox. It hits me smack dab in the middle of my heart.

  21. More than some were saying it about Liam Hendriks back in the day. There is no question Lopez has an electric arm. Maybe accepting his fate as a reliever is what it takes. It would be nice to get something from him. He has the talent. Of course he is still one bad outing from being a gas can again, but I certainly like him better on the mound than one Ryan Burr.

  22. Yet you didn't want Vaughn facing the righty throwing batting practice.

  23. Giolito vs Burrows That was a fun series over on the North side this past weekend. Let’s keep winning and beat these fucks! Oh, and happy Luis Robert day to all!

  24. One thing I definitely trust TLR with is handling guys down the stretch into the post-season. I think he will get the balance between keeping guys fresh and also giving them days off. Vaughn has been our MVP so far this year without a doubt, at least amongst position players. And some of that I think is definitely due to the way TLR has used him.

  25. Maybe Jose should sit more.

  26. AV is only 23 yrs of age, he doesn't need days off, he needs AB's. This whole load management BS has gotten way out of hand.

  27. I think it’s more of the team almost has the full band back together and people would like to see the A team line up. We haven’t had it once this year, but it is pretty close to possible now.

  28. Vaughn just sat 2 days ago, dude

  29. It’s weird to get mad about the lineup of a team with a 10.5 game lead and 50 games left. Even if it was a 5 game lead, you don’t know every reason why a guy may not be playing that day. It’s just a waste of time to give a crap about the lineup at this point. They’re getting ready for October.

  30. Leury didn't start yesterday. What do you people expect? Teachers pet isn't gonna sit two games in a row.

  31. Guys - the sox have 10.5 game lead and I have a feeling we're going to get our A+ lineup pretty rarely the next 7 weeks. Stars are going to sit, probably frequntly. I too want Vaughn in the line-up, but you're gonna get awfully worn out from all the hand-wringing if you can't come to grips with the fact TLR is going to rest guys regularly down the stretch.

  32. Tony’s obstinacy is one of the reasons why Hawk rightfully fired Tony in the first place. Sadly, Tony is untouchable by Kenny or Hahn, and Jerry never will fire him for what he does as manager.

  35. Oh fully agree, just feel like if healthy Gonzalez provides some defensive value in the event of an emergency. Blake is a tweener having a poor offensive season after multiple years of disappointment. He seems like the obvious guy to cut bait on, but not a big deal either way.

  36. Kelenic got rung last night arguing balls and strikes. The pitch he didn’t like was a clear high strike. This kid reminds me a bit of Madrigal, very cocky for how little they have accomplished in MLB. At least Nicky is a positive WAR player. both guys are very talented but the chip on shoulder look is off putting imo

  37. So far this year, 44.4% of his thrown pitches have been in the strike zone. In 2019 for comparison, 46.8% of his pitches were in the strike zone. 2020 was 41.9%, 2018 was 44.8%. What's different from 2019 and other years in his career is where people are swinging. In 2019, players were swinging at 71.1% of the balls he threw in the zone and 28.9% of balls he threw out of the zone. Other recent seasons look similar. This year so far, players are swinging at 66.7% of balls that he throws in the zone and 34.4% of balls he throws out of the zone. He's therefore not exactly throwing more strikes (with the exception of 2020), but players aren't picking up on them as well, so they are swinging more often at balls out of the zone and swinging less often at things in the zone that will be called strikes.

  43. I dont care if he doesn't give up a run the rest of the season. I dont want him throwing a pitch in the playoffs.
