  1. No brainer, Liam says he doesn't gaf when he pitches, Kimbrel isn't himself not closing...don't know why it's so complicated

  2. Whatever is best for the team I guess...but demoting the guy who is leading the league in saves because the other guy can't adjust to being a set up man doesn't quite sit well with me.

  3. Anybody that is not a SOX fan looks at them and can easily see them hosting a parade. Myself and Soxtalk can't see them holding off Cleveland or maybe even the Tigers.

  4. They're super young for the league. There's no short season so they were aggressively assigned to low A and "struggles" were expected. All stats should be pretty much ignored in the low minors and they should be especially ignored for this group. They're on two year assignments.

  5. I fell asleep knowing Ron had won....I woke up in the morning to obviously another 8th inning implosion.

  6. Len's call of Timmy's homer in Iowa is one of my favorite all time calls.

  7. And that's a White Sox Winner! First White Sox save for Craig Kimbrel!

  11. Lol. Yaz apparently was ejected in the 1st after striking out.

  12. I typically couldn't care less about the Cubs and their fans. However, they have a ton of casual followers and sometimes it's tough not to roll my eyes at the dumb random baseball "trivia" they regurgitate. It's a lot like the silly stuff on the jumbotron at Sox Park. It sounds intelligent but it's really useless and meaningless. Len tends to cite crap like that too often. But I digress. Len is fine on TV but TA's walkoff notwithstanding, he is a pretty mediocre radio play by play man. Way better than Conner McKnight but both of them have a bad habit of tripping over their tongue before telling you what happened. Too often you don't know if it's a strike/ball, flyout/HR, or a pop foul is playable or not. until well after the play ends. The best guys get to the point quickly and then fill in the blanks. I think Len does a lousy job of it.

  13. Len is great and Pods should have filled in this week.

  14. He's brutal but I will say I'll take him over Len Kasper any day. There is something about Len on the radio that really pisses me off. The order of information and the way he delivers it sucks in my opinion. He also quotes stupid stats about random immaterial things happening in unison for the first time in 106 years. It's that dumb stuff that appeals to Cub fans.

  15. Kimbrel is just a different dude as a closer. And I guess we won't be seeing Ray in here cause Kimbrel pitched well.

  16. Crochett is now the 8th inning guy. Period. Don't care whose feelings get hurt. This is why TLR was hired, if he can't make this call he shouldn't be here.

  18. So glad they just gave up the out letting Seby hit.

  19. I really would hate to have a lost a whole season of Kopech in the bullpen if he can't be counted as high leverage man in October to hopefully get us deep into the playoffs. This development sucks, in fact the entire bullpen situation is very disappointing. We have a month to get this right.

  20. Not a doubt in my mind Madrigal wouldn't of made the plays he's made today.

  22. Goodwin is sooo bad. My god bro your team is up 6 runs. Hit the cut off man.

  23. usually a dry mound isn't ideal. but in baseball you want one.

  24. Nope. I mean if we're honest, they are both terrible. But Seby has the misfortune of already having an option used this year, AND "hitting" from the wrong side of the plate. So it is an easy choice.

  26. Gordon really thought Vladdy barrel'd up the ball 91% of the time. That just means he's in the top 91 percentile Gordon.

  27. Why? He's more than adequate in the OF after just one season playing the position. He'll only get better. Eloy is the one that needs to be convinced to never ever see the OF again. Leave Vaughn in LF for the next 6-7 seasons.
    2 points
  28. Eh, I disagree. I do believe he can play 100 games there and be just fine - IF he's healthy. Vaughn can split time in RF/LF/1B, Jose can play one more season at 1st primarily while sharing the DH load with Eloy and 1st with Vaughn, while Eloy plays the other half of LF. We will have another Goodwin like OF somewhere anyway. Engel is a much better offensive weapon since his age 27 season and he's always been a great defender, so I would like to see him have more of a workload if he's healthy.

  29. I can't see them leaving the lefty that can log a good amount of innings with World Series experience off the roster to keep Ruiz.

  30. If only Denny had hit a grand slam while he was here.

  31. Well, so far This year the White Sox have spent more than 600 plate appearances on Jake Lamb, Yermin Mercedes, Nick William, and Brian Goodwin. If there’s a moral to that story, if a guy can hit, even put up a .900 OPS against one side of a platoon, there will be plate appearances for them and chances to Win key games. And Sheets may not be a good RF, but I’d rather have him in RF than have Goodwin in CF.

  32. I'm just quoting this so people don't skip it. People also seem to be forgetting that Thompson, Kelley, and Dalquist didn't get rookie ball in the 2020 season.

  33. The White Sox behind Dallas Keuchel defeated Hyun-Jin Ryu on June 10th at home 5-3. Carlos Rodon faced Toronto three times in his career, all three no decisions, including a 6-1 White Sox win on June 8th, after he gave up 1 run in 5 innings, with the Sox scoring one in the seventh and five in the eight to make a winner out of Garret Crochet. Speaking of which, Garrett Crochet has pitched sixteen times in the 8th inning, posting a 1.26 ERA over 14 1/3 innings. Pass this stat along to Shelley Duncan.

  34. The 8 th inning killed the Sox once again. The Kimbrel/Hendriks Killer endings have not panned out so far. Didn’t like Bummer coming in the 8 th with all those righties coming in. But What were the options. Why do we have Wright and Burr for?.. One of them should have pitched the 7 th and keep Tepera for the 8 th.

  35. It is unfortunate, at this point we need vaccine mandates from all employers and governments with the sole exception being for medical reasons (there shouldn’t be religious exemptions for vaccines). And if someone still doesn’t want the vaccine then they can be ostracized from society and not get to take part in the benefits provided by it. I have zero sympathy for people who won’t get vaccinated unless there is a medical reason for them not to. Years ago people in this country would sacrifice for the greater good (and getting a vaccine isn’t even a sacrifice) but thanks to Fox News and social media one side of the aisle has decided science is bad and owning the libs is more important than public health or the country.
