Ok relax buddy, the other day you turned off the TV in the second inning of a game not sure you should be preaching to others about attitude.11 points

Me, an idiot: The Sox have played 80% of the season with replacement guys from the minor league system. You, an intellectual: sOx HaVe No DePtH5 points

If Keuchel is the teammate/leader he portrays himself to be, then he'd voluntarily take himself out of the rotation for Lopez5 points

If any of you really think the Indians are catching this team...please stop posting. Your negativity is poison and we dont want you here. Sox are winning this division by at least 8 games.5 points

I'd rather have Collins than Zavala5 points

Collins is useless. Hopefully he never comes back.5 points

It is time for the Chicago White Sox to continue their winning ways this evening! Series Background: The Chicago White Sox return home after a 3-4 road trip to host the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs finished their homestand with a 2-4 record, completing a series win over the Rockies on Thursday after being swept by Kansas City over the weekend. The White Sox swept the Cubs earlier this month at Wrigley Field, the first three game sweep by either team in this series since the White Sox swept the Cubs in Wrigley Field May 18-20, 2012. The Chicago White Sox hold a 68-63 record against the Cubs in interleague games. In addition, the Chicago White Sox hold a 4-2 advantage in World Series contests. Projected Starters: The projected starter for the Chicago White Sox is LHP Dallas Keuchel (8-7; 135 2/3 IP; 82 K; 4.71 ERA). Dallas has pitched well in Comiskey Park II this season, going 5-2 with a 4.07 ERA over 73 innings in 12 starts and 1 relief appearance. The Cubs are expected to start RHP Keegan Thompson (3-3; 44 2/3 IP; 44 K; 2.42 ERA). This will be Keegan's third career MLB start, with one in April, the second his last apperance when he faced the Kansas City Royals last weekend, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, both earned, over 4 innings, 73 pitches. Lineup Presentation: Chicago White Sox Injury Updates: Yasmani Grandal 8/26 Update: Expected Return is this weekend. The Sox expect to carry two catchers with three upcoming off days over the next eight scheduled games. Seby Zavala likely the catcher to be sent to Charlotte or the taxi squad, until rosters expand in September, based on the fact he already was optioned this season. Adam Engel 8/26 Update: Expected Return TBD. Adam was diagnosed with right groin tightness on August 12, but has also been diagnosed with left (non-throwing arm) shoulder inflammation. Tony reported Engel has made "some progress" over the past two days, but there is still no plan for him to go on a rehab assignment. Billy Hamilton: Expected Return TBD. Billy Hamilton started his rehab assignment in Charlotte on August 21st, playing two games each at DH and CF, including his latest game on Thursday in Center Field. Final Game Thread Opening Post Thoughts: Let's continue with good positive thoughts and comments throughout the day and evening. For those attending the game, stay classy out there, keep the balls and cups in the stands, and keep your chants on a family friendly respectable level, Go White Sox!4 points

Please stop. In fact I really don't want to see any Kimbrel sucks posts after this joyous game. Dude shouldn't have been out there in the first place and the runs he gave up were pretty meaningless. Enjoy this great victory.4 points

So despite this nice comeback win, we now have a hole in the rotation and even more question marks about our $16 million co-closer who we all thought had just fixed himself the day prior. This team is fucking exhausting.4 points

What a missed call. I looked at your user name and it all made sense.4 points

Soxtalk tends to be on the pessimistic side, after so many years of frustration and disappointments. But with the full lineup back, except Engel, the needle will start moving towards the optimistic side now.4 points
-
People still scoreboard watching and losing their shit will never be not funny to me4 points

Lol…half of Harold’s posts on Soxtalk are calling people out in the major league gamethreads for ripping the lineups, and meanwhile here he is in the minor league gamethread ripping the lineups ?4 points
-
He was probably facing these guys all year at AAA.4 points

This is great and all but more importantly what is Cleveland doing??4 points

This team sucks at fundamentals. They'll be out after the first round in the playoffs.4 points

I too am thinking about the offseason after a decade of no playoffs where we are currently in a 9 game lead with a month to go.4 points
-
Anything less than a sweep of the Cubs will be disappointing. The Sox shouldn't let this minor league team beat them even once.4 points
-
Way to waste Kimbrel in a 7 run game just for him to give up 2 dingers.3 points
-
Yeah, sure we’re going to get the equivalent of Madrigal, Heuer and $5+ million back for Kimbrel…3 points

Kimbrel is batting practice for big league hitters right now. What an abysmal trade.3 points

One of the best pitchers on one of the best pitching staffs in baseball just like we all predicted when he had a 6 ERA in Charlotte3 points

Remember earlier when posters were worried about the indians taking the division lead....??3 points
-
That's just poop stains from his pitches being absolute shit3 points
-
There's no reason to keep Keuchel in the rotation ahead of Lopez. Cleveland isn't catching the Sox, but getting a top 2 seed is very important and there's no reason to keep punting Keuchel starts when a vastly superior option is stretched out to take his place.3 points
-
Aaaaand that’s why us more knowledgeable posters have been sounding the alarm on this team for weeks3 points
-
This is cubs/sox. You just know sox are gonna come back.3 points

Man, that lineup today, woo! Leury just keeping the seat warm in RF for Billy or Engel to come back, and then this lineup is fire3 points
-
He mentioned it in the first sentence out of his mouth during his Score interview a few minutes ago.2 points

Lineup is good. I'd switch Vaughn and Cesar but that is about it.2 points
-
I'd switch Moncada and Robert, but when everyone is healthy, you really can't go wrong. If Engel is back, we will have an entire lineup of roughly .800 OPS hitters.2 points
-
Hernandez in RF? When he won a GG at second...well, that would be so White Sox. Guess pretty much everyone in the organization but Burger has tried outfield at least once this year.2 points
-
So you’re saying I’ll never get laid again. Got it. Thanks.2 points

He said he was yanking his fastball, which was one of his biggest issues with the Cubs in 19 and 20. Notice how his curve didn't break like a slider yesterday? We can talk about psychology all we want, but his mechanics were out of whack before he fixed them between his outings in Toronto.2 points

The game I’m referring to is Monday's game that we lost 2-1 and you made your statement when it was 0-0 like I said, I wouldn’t be blasting an entire thread about attitude2 points

Doesn't get much better than this. Sox playing the Cubs at home on a Friday night that happens to be my birthday. I have a feeling the scoreboard is going to be used frequently tonight to help me celebrate.2 points

Heading to visit some good friends in NC who are rabid Cubs fans to enjoy the Crosstown together. LET'S SCORE SOME RUNS. Off to O'hare. I have a feeling some epic game threads are on the way soon.2 points

No one mentioned the 2 homers for Rutherford. The annual drive to retain the spot on the 40 man begins!2 points

I'm glad Kimbrel got the save but anyone saying he's the closer now based on that.. confuses me.2 points

Well, so far This year the White Sox have spent more than 600 plate appearances on Jake Lamb, Yermin Mercedes, Nick William, and Brian Goodwin. If there’s a moral to that story, if a guy can hit, even put up a .900 OPS against one side of a platoon, there will be plate appearances for them and chances to Win key games. And Sheets may not be a good RF, but I’d rather have him in RF than have Goodwin in CF.2 points
