The Sox make the playoffs once a decade, I’m not bored in the slightest. More please.6 points

Kris Bryant was staring them in the face and he would have been a game changing addition for this club. It also wouldn't have taken NEARLY the package the Sox traded away for Kimbrel. Just brutal all the way around.5 points

I've been watching baseball for 50 odd years, and i can honestly say that i've never been bored with it . i love the game with a passion, and relish the time from the beginning of spring training until the final out of the World Series . i love the defensive part of the game most, and the addition of Robert really piqued my interest... I've patiently waited my whole adult life for the White Sox to acquire a five tool center fielder that is one of the best in the game . it's always been a passion of mine, great center fielders . i have autographs from some of the games greatest in that position, stemming back to the mid 60's when i met players through my uncle, who was in advertising, and my cousin, a former Chicago sportscaster, who took me to my first Cub game back in 1965 ( my diehard White Sox fan dad, who was recently deceased, would have been appalled.3 points

Its funny how the oldest man in the dugout is the only man without any health issues,3 points

I understand the bored feeling since there is no AL Central race. But I don't want to see playoffs expanded. That would be truly boring. And stupid.3 points

Revisionist history? We discussed this the day they made the trade there was way too much risk for a guy who had been inconsistent and not what he once was.. and that trading for a guy at his absolute peak value was a terrible decision. Just because the media told you they got the best player available doesn't make it true. This was bad process since day 1. No one pays their 8th inning guy 18 million and gives up assets to do so.2 points

Unpopular opinion: If Luis Robert doesn't make the 9th a 4 out inning, no one is talking about Kimbrel right now2 points

Great series win by the White Sox. TLaR proved a lot of know-it-all second guessing little b1tches wrong.2 points

I hope they go out and get Marte in the offseason. He would be a really good fit for this team with his defense and speed in the outfield. He can also hit extra base hits and steal bases.2 points

Hahn's 'predecessor' was renowned for meatball trades and pickups. It's only anecdotal, but an Oakland A's insider said that they loved dealing with Williams in that the A's always got the better end of the deal. <----- Not much of a Williams fan, at least as a GM.2 points

Kimbrels dumb stance is annoying if he's pitching well but it's insufferable to watch when he can't find the zone and not blow saves2 points
-
His mechanics are all fucked up. It's why he can't spot his fastball and why his curve usually isn't a strike. Boston basically decided they were just gonna take pitches against him cause they knew he couldn't get the curve in the zone. The Cubs knew how to fix him when he got like this. We have no real answers and it's aggravating. Not only is he blowing games, but we also paid out the ass for him.2 points

Incredible how no matter what happens, whether it's guys getting healthy, adding a 2b via trade etc... Leury always ends up in a situation where he plays a pivotal role on this team.2 points

To be fair, and yes Kimbrel sucked balls yet again, but that run is on Rob Mackowiak out there in CF, creating his own bad routes.2 points

I hated this trade the day it was made and I hate even more now. The Sox needed setup guys not 2 closers.2 points

Very disappointed in Cease’s regression. But for everyone saying this team is coasting and will turn up for the playoffs… they were actually TRYING to win this one. Tony continues to make questionable in game decisions and Kimbrel continues to play like horse shit. For as many legit players we have on this team, we sure do have a bunch of triple AAA fodder rounding out the team.2 points

Well, this lackadaisical approach to running through the end of the season has made the Sox a pretty tedious watch, in general. I actually don't sit and watch them much because it aggravates me. Yeah, resting, games don't matter, yadda, yadda - the age-old back and forth on which is the better approach. But if getting hot in the playoffs is what matters, it's becoming harder and harder for me to watch this team and envision anything 'hot' turning on for the post-season in a few weeks time. Cease buried the team tonight - they fought back, but great - we end up with Wright in the 10th? Say what? That's when I figure that the manager doesn't want to win this one, for whatever "Hall of Fame Manager" reason, then great - damned if I'm going to care any more - I flipped it off, knowing the outcome was inevitable. The Sox need to tighten up, start looking like their head is in it, well before the playoffs, so they have a chance to ramp up to post-season form. Thank God their division is so god-awful!2 points

Only reason I’m bored is since the AB this team looks like they are bored also and are just coasting.2 points

Then he should have been available for one at bat in the 10th inning yesterday, under circumstances favorable to him having success.1 point

They were all swinging for the fences, when what we needed was contact. This lack of contact is an area where we will miss Madrigal most next season.1 point

He is such an embarrassment. Like he was honestly the best option this team had for a manager this year? Unreal.1 point

Boston's closer was out w Covid so their 10th inning guy was no stud. Travis Shaw who was hitting sub.200 beat us when Mendick and Goodwin didn't.1 point

Can we drop the bipolar pity party bullshit and just move on? It’s baseball. Things like this happen. Enjoy the ride.1 point

There's a reason the Sox haven't been losing any ground in the 2 seed race despite underwhelming baseball the last few weeks. Houston isn't playing well right now either. That's who the Sox will almost certainly be playing in rd1. Maybe the Sox will beat them, maybe they won't, HFA will play a huge role in that series. But no one on Astrostalk would be expressing a ton of coincidence in the Astros beating the Sox right now. The Sox need to clean it up but every loss on here is treated as definitive proof their flaws are fatal and will sink them in the playoffs. The same could easily be done to the Astros, Rays, Blue Jays, Yankees etc. None of those teams unstoppable juggernauts by any means.1 point

I heard someone from the stands yell “WAKE UP TONY” during the bottom of the 10th. ?1 point

There are quite a few players on this team that fall into the category. This team is not built for an extended playoff run. The 2005 team won these games.1 point

I hate this goddamn team. Bunch of gutless cowards, led by a fossilized buffoon.1 point

Awful game from TLR. Bet on there being a Sunday lineup tomorrow and we'll lose a series again that we took the first game in.1 point

He was unhittable and just lost it. Cease needs to pitch more than 2.2 innings. To b**** about LaRussa is foolish1 point

I’d rather see Billy in the lineup over Goodwin for his defense. Hell Sheets plays better D than Brian.1 point

This is the first time in the 120 year history of the franchise that they will have made the playoffs in back to back seasons. It's the best teams we have had since the 05 to 08 stretch. If you can't enjoy this, you are doing it wrong.1 point
